Hey all, I'm sorry to tell you I'm thinking of just dropping this blog project all together. I can't write in the funny, sarcastic, ranty way that I rant about anime in real life, it comes out sounding either stupid or too formal. I'm just having issues writing lately in general, even an original story I tried to write I had writers block (something that's never happened to me before) and no motivation to write the story from point A where I was, to point C where I wanted to go.

Honestly a lot of this is because of lack of feedback from readers, not putting you guys at fault AT ALL of course, this blog simply isn't good enough to warrant discussions and feedback like I had hoped. Sometimes I even wonder if anyone even reads this. I have a lot more fun focusing on watching the anime rather than writing about it for readers who I'm not sure even enjoy it. That and you guys voted for a FB page in a poll, and yet most of the people who have liked it are real life friends of mine rather than the 14 or so readers who voted for it, so it's a little saddening. For everyone who did like it though, thank you very much. And obviously none of this is all-inclusive, obviously thank you very much to those who've commented also. So yeah, I had tons of post ideas lined up, but no real motivation to do them so (its not definite yet) but I may just quit this altogether and figured I should tell everyone.

Fall 2011 Anime I'm Watching

So sorry I haven't posted in forever, school and boyfriend are keeping me busy and thanks to a snowstorm I lost internet for 2 days, I haven't even watched a hell of a lot of anime either...in fact I'm really behind (Though who saw the most recent dubbed episode of Bleach? Tentacle rape much? My boyfriend's jaw dropped to the floor in shock at a fairly "normal" anime doing that) but I needed to get this done for you guys. Oh and I lost internet this weekend thanks to a foot of snow -.- Fun right? Anywho, for the sake of expediency I'm doin this a little different, I'm only gonna talk about the ones I actually decided to watch, there were none that were horrifically terrible that I feel the need to rant about, so it's senseless to talk about just not having much of an opinion them, that's boring for me to write, boring for you to read. I figure I only need to write about the bad stuff if it's really bad.

Bakuman 2:

This season is starting out pretty awesome just like the first...although slightly less awesome because of how they replaced Hattori. The new guy is sooooooo annoying and he's so happy and enthusiastic about everything like just shut up! Even when Ashirogi Mutou's ranking falls he's just like "oh it's no big deal, lookit this guy, you'll be fine" and his advice sucks.
Other than the annoying new editor though this season is the same type of good as the first one was and now Takagi and Mashiro are actual, serialized mangaka. Shockingly in one episode Mashiro and Azuki actually talk on the phone! Like with voice! ZOMG cuz you know heaven forbid they just talk to each other and go on dates and whatever else like a normal couple. The most hilarious thing that irks me about this is that I really want to read Shady Detective Trap but it's not actually a real manga! lol

Phi Brain:

This is a great one for anyone who enjoys mysteries, strategy and the like, also if you liked Spiral you'll most likely enjoy this. It surrounds...I believe the entire world in which some people are obsessed with solving puzzles, and to this end there is an organization called the POG that makes these puzzles. And see that guy with the poofy white hair, yeah there's something sinister about him and the POG. Now when I say puzzles I don't mean like jigsaw puzzles, I mean like life and death, high-stakes puzzles. One thing that I personally love about these types of anime are trying to solve the puzzles alongside the characters. This works especially well here since the main character, Daimon Kaito, is such an enjoyable character. Of course there's the useless, obnoxious female sidekick, but what shounen anime is complete without one of them to piss you off? In all honesty she's not that bad though, the worst is the guy w/ the red hair and big eye in that pic, I don't recall his name but his title is Galileo and he kind of makes me wanna hit him. This is a really good series though, and I can see it amounting to some interesting things.

Mirai Nikki:

I honestly went into this not expecting to like it very much...granted I barely knew a summary at the time but still, I didn't think a whole lot of it, and yet it turned out to be really quite good. The story surrounds...I wanna say 12 people but I'm not exactly sure how many, people all with these cellphone diaries that can tell the future. All of the diaries can see different things, the main character's just says random future happenings (Random Diary), the female lead's diary, the Yukiteru Diary can tell the future of anything that will happen to the main character, Yukiteru, at 10 minute intervals, some other guys (he's conveniently a police officer) can tell crimes before they happen. You get the picture. These people all have to use these diaries to win in a battle royale against each other. The goal: be the last man of the 12 alive; the prize: become God (maybe Light shoulda done it this way). Negative side though is as cool as the plot is, the two main characters are so irritating. The male protagonist reminds me of Ganta from Deadman Wonderland, sickeningly so in fact. He just whines about everything and whines about how he's a loner but chooses to be anyway and doesn't wanna be in this game, it's ridiculous, like shut up already, please! Then the female protagonist isn't so much annoying as she is creepy, she has a rather soulless air about her and has this stalker crush on Yukiteru. Regardless though, so far it's shaping up to be a good watch.

Also for those of you who are surprised UN-GO isn't on here, I tried it, and quite honestly it bored me a lot, nothing like the mysteries I was hoping for.

Hidden Gems of Anime: Basilisk

this is a new post "series" I guess you could call it, just like my First Impressions and Top 10 Lists, hidden gems meaning anime that I've come across that are really good (not necessarily my favorites) and yet don't get a lot of popularity. Now anime that get posts like this are gonna be ones that I didn't do a post on for another reason, and/or don't appear in my Top 10 Lists a lot. Also before I get started, please in addition to commenting click that little Facebook 'Like' button on the side. By doing that you'll get to see smaller anime musings of mine, questions, funny pictures I come across, give me post suggestions, etc.

Story:
This is essentially a Romeo and Juliet but in feudal Japan, ninja form which is pretty awesome. The basis of it is that there's these 2 ninja clans that hate each other, the Koga and the Iga. For the past...I forget how many years, there'd been an anti-hostilities pact between them but that pact is nullified (by someone in the government, I forget who, maybe Ieyasu) and 10 warriors from each clan are ordered to fight each other to the death. Each clan has a scroll with the names of the 10 opposing ninja and they are to cross out the name in that person's blood when they are killed. Basically a last clan standing sort of deal. Now to throw a monkey wrench into the deal, Oboro the daughter of the Iga leader is engaged to Gennosuke, the Koga leader, and now the two lovers are forced to kill each other. It's carried out pretty well and as you can imagine it's really dark, also probably one of the bloodiest anime I've seen, but either way very good. It has a way of pulling you into the story so you develop "noooo they're dead!" or "finally! its about time someone killed them" feelings towards certain characters. It also manages to have a romance background, without focusing on that and getting really weighed down with "but I love him/her!" drama. Also all these ninja have special powers such as prehensile body hair, stretching, poison breath, summoning butterflies, etc. which is pretty neat, nice twist to the historical setting. Also as a nice bit of teasing to make you guys curious to watch this, I will say that the ending is very sad, it was one of the only anime to even bring me close to tears.

Animation:

The 10 Iga clan warriors

The art for this anime was absolutely beautiful, not the most colorful thing in the world, but that fits the dark tone to the story. But I absolutely loved the quality and style of this art, especially the eyes, they're so stunning and they look very deep, like a real human eye. Hotarubi's butterflies are also done beautifully and it looks like they're glowing.

From what I recall the fight scenes are very fast-paced and done very smoothly, also very bloody but...yeah this is just a very bloody anime. There are what you'd call "ecchi" scenes but they're not for fan-service, it's usually a girl getting brutally raped or tortured or something which is yes very disturbing, it doesn't make you wanna punch the creators in the balls for filling the show with useless ecchi fluff, because it's really not. The only thing that really bugs me about the art is the body shapes/proportions of some characters, such as the old guy you see in the picture above, Rousai, who the hell thought it would be a good idea to give him a peanut head? Then that guy with the gray bumpy skin and then there's this other guy, Kazamachi Shougen I believe, who's literally part spider and looks part monkey, just why? What kind of weirdo thinks it's a good idea to draw characters like that? And don't even get me started on the dude who's chin looks like a rotting tumor.

Characters:

Well to put it simply I watched this anime about 3yrs ago and I can still remember most of the characters names and powers, so that should say something right there. Some characters fit into stereotypes but not really in a bad way, most of them are also very unique and memorable. And yes that guy in the back, Kasumi Gyobu I believe, is in fact naked, he can melt into objects such as walls and become invisible.

One thing I liked about the characters is they all had depth to some extent, enough for you to sympathize with them, develop favorites and pick sides. Personally I enjoy characters like that, characters that we care about and for lack of a better term characters that seem real. And this anime definitely accomplishes that. Something else that I kind of enjoyed is it starts out as there's no clear villain, you just kind of pick a side (personally I like the Iga) but later on it turns out one guy actually is a villain, and a sick, twisted fuck at that. Actually...a lot of the characters are sick and twisted, but that doesn't mean they're not good, which they are.

Overall:
Well obviously this is a really good series if I felt the need to title this post in the way that I did. So in stead of focusing on that I'm gonna try and compare this to something. I already gave the Romeo and Juilet analogy, which it's a lot like but it also reminded me of a very mature Naruto. If you make Naruto bloody and dark and more historical and cross it with Romeo and Juliet you get this. And actually now that I think of it Romeo and Juliet really is quite bloody and dark...not to the extent of this but still. Also some of the deaths and torture-esq scenes really are quite gruesome, there's also a rape scene or two, so basically what I'm saying is not for the faint of heart. If you're someone who's into a lot of flowery shoujo, as good as this is it might not be your best choice. I suppose I'll just leave you with the fact that this is a great anime, something I'd even rewatch if I had the time, the story is awesome and the ending honestly almost made me cry, and that's saying a lot.

*gasp*! I really don't have much to say here, just hope all the returning students are off to a good school year and please comment, subscribe, like the Facebook page (this especially), etc. Also, I'm probably not going to Comic Con this year because it's so expensive and I'm too lazy to make a costume and personally I'd feel weird without a costume. So probably no post on that =(

Top 10 List: GAR Characters

Holy shit, so sorry guys for the lack of posting but I can't even tell you how much has been going on in my life lately. Just got back from vacation, complicated stuff with my boyfriend who's been over like every day for the past week, school starting soon and just general procrastination and life in general, a lot of which I feel no need to talk about here. So anyway, my apologies for the slow posts, especially for during the summer, but now we've got a GAR list. I guess I should probably explain what exactly GAR is first though for those who are unaware. GAR is basically an over-the-top level of sheer manliness and essentially just overflowing with bad-assery and testosterone. Best way I can describe it other than the closest thing to Chuck Norris in anime form. Without further delay, let the GAR madness begin! (btw, I simply type in in all caps cuz it seems more fitting)

Number 10: Alex Louise Armstrong (FullMetal Alchemist)

Armstrong is on that border between ridiculously manly and just downright gay, a border that really shouldn't even exist but for him it does. I mean really, c'mon, pink sparkles!? However he exhibits the creepy, and yet oh-so-GAR quality of randomly ripping off his shirt and doing various muscle flexes whenever he deems appropriate. Now why him instead of someone like Gray of Fairy Tail who does that too? Because Armstrong is FAR more muscular, to an absolutely disgusting degree and because unlike Gray he does it specifically to show off. His alchemy is also punching things, and not like 'BAM IN THE FACE!' more like 'HOLY SHIT HE JUST SHATTERED THAT BRICK WALL! IN ONE PUNCH!' that's pretty damn GAR if you ask me. His dub voice also contributes to it a bit, it's just very gruff and manly...seriously though...the pink sparkles...really? Those are a massive part of the reason why he's only number 10 on this list.

Number 9: Sanada Yukimura (Sengoku Basara)

He's overly loud, pretty bad-ass and has some strange, loud and obnoxious bromance with his commanding officer. Little weird but pretty GAR none the less. He kind of reminds me of Mushu's line in Mulan where he's like "Punch him, that's how men say 'hello'", that basically sums up Yukimura. Him and his commanding officer the Tiger of Kai basically punch each other across a room and yell each others names as a form of greeting. I can't tell whether that's manly or insane...though when I think about it those are synonymous sometimes. But anyway they do it in a sort of "Grrr look how manly and awesome I am!" kind of way. Yukimura is also the determined, "I'll kick everyone's ass", cocky type character which is also kinda GAR in his situation.

Number 8: Grimmjow Jeagerjaques (Bleach)

Grimmjow is GAR in a similar way that Yukimura is GAR, except in a far more bad-ass way rather than a semi-silly way. Grimmjow is pretty much the epitome of kick-ass, hell he gets his freakin arm cut off and his chest slashed open and he's still all wanting to kick someones ass, and he does too. He beats Ichigo to a pulp at one point, and almost a second time. Seriously, how often does a main character get beaten like that? His "screw everyone" attitude and his physique are also quite GAR and he's just so overflowing with overconfidence but he's actually got the personality and fighting skills to back it up.

Grimmjow doesn't take shit from anyone either, not even Aizen who's his master, even to him he's still like "Well f*** you!" and when he gets his arm back he just kills off Luppi to regain his rank as the Sexta Espada, and he does this as if it's nothing if my memory serves me. He doesn't concern himself with weak opponents, he's so confident in his abilities that he searches out the strongest opponent in an area and fights only them, seeing the others as beneath him.

Number 7: Might Guy (Naruto)

Guy is so GAR that he's aware that he's GAR and flaunts it...along with being a creeper but that's beside the point. He takes everything to the extreme, especially his self-punishments for losing a challenge against Kakashi, like his 500 laps around the village for...I believe losing a game of rock, paper, scissor. He talks in a very GAR fashion, at least in the dub which is kind of hard to explain but it's like a very epic tone of voice.

Fighting/training wise? Well I already addressed the 500 laps around the village, and thats a big village I might add. He also trains with weights on his legs (where Lee got it from, like everything else) and goes freakin nuts when he opens the chakra gates. Also I feel the need to point out that over the course of the series he strikes several epic poses and at one point has a crashing wave behind him for effect....in fact the first time you see him he strikes a pose on top of a turtle...but that pose was just plain weird and not very GAR. He also has "THE POWER OF YOUTH!" whatever that means lol.

Number 6: Elfman (Fairy Tail)

This spot was originally going to be for Captain Yamamoto of Bleach but then I realized that the only real GAR thing about him is when he rips off his kimono top; he is JACKED for an old guy. But then I figured that Elfman fit this spot better for 1. his physique and physical strength, 2. his overall 'I'm a man!' persona. Elfman represents the gentler and less 'in your face' side of GAR, he's extremely manly as per the definition of GAR, but in a very different way. For one Elfman is extremely chivalrous and is extremely protective over his comrades, specifically women, especially his remaining sister Mirajane. He's also constantly spewing phrases obsessed with being a man, and he does things 'because he's a man' or 'a man would do this' he is obsessed with manliness, if that's not GAR I dunno what is, the only thing is he's not that epic about it which is why he's not higher on this list.

Number 5: Dante (Devil May Cry)

Not only is Dante bad-ass and extremely GAR, he's smexy. Honestly, look at that picture and tell me he's not smexy? For a living he shoots demons in the face like it's nothing, he gets skewered on a sword or spike or something at some point and doesn't die and he still kills the demon (if memory serves, I watched this about 3-4yrs ago). Yes ok, he eats strawberry sundaes and allows a little girl to redecorate his office all frilly and pink, but still, you know what happens when a place doesn't have his strawberry sundaes? He completely wrecks the owner, no like seriously in the first episode he shoots a guy in the head for not having a strawberry sundae and for saying they're childish. Also a good general rule of thumb is that most characters with a massive sword (save for Ichigo and Inuyasha and probably a few others) are probably pretty GAR, or at least borderline. Hey! Get your mind out of the gutter that was not a perverted joke! Dante has a massive freakin sword, if only he used it more often...alright I'm digging myself into a hole here, I'm gonna shut up before this gets really bad.

Number 4: Shizuo Heiwajima (Durarara!)

Ok honestly now, this guy throws bitch-fits in the middle of a city, Ikebukuro no less. And not only are they bitch-fits, he goes on a screaming rampage at Izaya and throws vending machines. Yes. Vending machines, he picks them up and throws them across streets like it's nothing. Along with vending machines, street signs, you know, those things that are um, CEMENTED INTO THE GROUND!! Sure he's thin and lanky, but who cares, the way he fights and the way he screams "Izayaaaa!!!" with such hate is freakin nuts. During a fight with Izaya not only did they like destroy an area of Ikebukuro but Shizuo got ran over by a truck or...well he was under a truck for one reason or another and then he proceeds to lift that up too. This guy is freaking nuts and you'd have to be insane to not think he's GAR. HE THROWS VENDING MACHINES!! Look at the fear on that dudes face in the picture! I'm pretty sure anybody would shit their pants at the sight of that.

Number 3: Kenpachi Zaraki (Bleach)

First of all, he's fuckin huge. Second, he's intimidating as all hell and knows it, I mean really, his spiritual pressure. Third, it's damn near impossible to even cut the guy, let alone beat him. Hell, Ichigo beat him mostly on luck.

You know how you know he's GAR? Because I can say something about him that will sound an awful lot like a Chuck Norris fact: Kenpachi is so strong that he has to give himself handicaps so opponents wont die at the mere sight of him! The bells are a handicap, the eyepatch is a double handicap and he can't/doesn't bother to release his zanpaku-to, for Gods sakes he doesn't need it! He damn near slaughtered Ichigo without it! The torn clothes, the hair, the need for handicaps, the physique, the batle scars, the fact that he's almost invincible, yeah everything about this guy just screams GAR. And he takes immense joy in fighting.

Number 2: Adam Blade (Needless)

HE'S SO GAR THEY GAVE HIM NIPPLES! XD Ok that's a joke obviously but in all honesty, notice most anime guys don't have defined nipples (if at all) for some reason? Well Blade does, that just caught my eye since it's outta the ordinary and figured it would be funny to mention. But in all seriousness, look at the guy, that is beyond ripped. He never really loses a fight, you can't freakin kill the guy and he can learn any person's fragment and use their power by use of his special Zero Fragment. SPOILER!! For Christs sake this guy isn't even human! How he has blood yet mechanics inside I'll never know but he does. He's not only inhuman but he's a clone of The 2nd, the original needless. END SPOILER!! Whenever he wins a fight he has a super bad-ass way of...well I guess you can say "announcing" it, with his "JUDGMENT. EXECUTION" sequence that's pretty damn awesome. He is one of the needless closest to God in terms of sheer power! And for the record, take note of his sunglasses, I think he stole them from Kamina of Gurren Lagann but still.

Number 1: Toriko (Toriko)

By far the most muscular (ick) and bad-ass on this entire list, the king of GAR himself, Toriko. He's huge, tough and he's all about ass-kicking and food! He is the ultimate in GAR. In one of the very first episodes he punches a massive, 300yr-old killer crocodile IN THE FACE!! He can use his hands as forks and knives to attack that will literally cut through metal...WITH HIS BARE HANDS! And he takes out massive monsters single-handedly, again, with his bare hands. Toriko is so GAR he needs no weapons, his fork ad knife hand attacks and his insanely destructive Kugi Punch attack is good enough to fell any opponent.

His pet? Oh no big deal just an ancient killer wolf that's gonna grow up to be freakin huge, as well as a 2-headed dinosaur thing. He's one of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Bishoku-ya and never fails to get his ingredient....though he does tend to eat a lot if not all of it upon capture. Which reminds me a serving of food for 500 people will only fill him up 1/10 so assuming my math is correct he needs to eat 5000 normal servings in order to be full. That's A LOT of food, it would explain why he devours whole animals on his own on occasion. Toriko is THE most GAR character.

So yeah, that's my GAR list, so sorry for not posting in a month, I've been doing so many things and I go back to school in a week. Junior year, can't believe it already. First Impressions: Summer 2011 Anime I've tried

I'm not even sure if this deserves a whole post really...it's probably only going to be a couple paragraphs because quite honestly this season to me, was shit. There're only 2 shows I'm watching from it and it's just cuz they're sequels. One I don't even like that much so far. Everything else, yeah some of it could keep me mildly interested, but not enough to watch the entire series. And after dropping so many last season I wanted to be careful of that.

These are the only two I'm watching this season: Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu 2 and Nurarihyon no Mago- Sennen Makyou. The former is really quite a disappointment so far, the first 2 episodes were nothing but useless fanservice and all the girls throwing obnoxious PMS fits at nothing. The 3rd episode wasn't much better but at least it got back to the school and summoned beings premise...sort of. I just hope it doesn't continue this way, I wanna see the conclusion of the fight between Class A and Class F. Nurarihyon no Mago- Sennen Makyou on the other hand is really quite good so far, better than the first season since there are more fights and less of Rikuo's friends, especially Kiyotsugu thank God I don't know how much more of him I can take -.- There's also quite a lot more of Night Rikuo, smexy and bad-ass so that's always appreciated.

Now honestly for the stuff I didn't decide to watch there really isn't much to say about any of them like usual so I'll just lump it all into one paragraph and comment on what I feel needs to be commented on. The only two I couldn't even take watching the full first episode of were Dantalian no Shoka and Kamisama Dolls. The European setting and Pandora Hearts/Gosick style in the former were the main things that really put me off from it, and Dalian's annoying monotoned voice, but that's not too bug of a deal, just somethin that got to me a bit. As for Kamisama Dolls I really couldn't tell ya what annoyed me about that one, but it was boring. Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi I really wanted to like, but it was far too whiny even in the first two episodes. Sacred Seven was pretty decent, but it just didn't hold my interest enough. And last (I think, if not last one I care to mention) Kamisama no Memochou interestingly was the first anime in a while to require me to watch episode 3 before deciding and bottom line it was a let-down, I was expecting so much more mystery and intellect, but no such luck.

Anyway...yeah that's really it, told ya it'd be a short post. Coming up should be my Top 10 List: GAR Characters, then...I dunno, maybe a rant or a review of some sort. Needless

So the other day I started the anime Needless after many months of it being on my 'Want to Watch' list. It got bumped to the top of the list upon hearing that the main character is extremely GAR. Now not that I particularly like GAR characters, but soon I'll be doing a Top 10 List: GAR Characters, and if this character was supposedly so GAR, I wanted to see it prior to making the list. I honestly didn't expect much of this series seeing it tagged 'ecchi' (oh lovely -.-) but I gave it a try and much to my surprise, thus far it's AWESOME!! (By thus far I mean I'm up to episode 6 at this point).

Now I'm watching the dub of this so for anyone who has that in common, is it just me or does Blade sound a bit like Kenpachi of Bleach? I know they're not the same VA, but that was my first thought. The ecchi honestly isn't too bad, it makes sense in the fight scenes (which there are a lot of, I'll get to that in a minute) and it's not all BOOBS AND PANTY-SHOTS IN YOUR FACE BLOCKING THE SCREEN!!! There's some torn/skimpy clothing and bouncing boobs, but nothing that's obnoxiously contrived or out of place like a lot of fighting anime with ecchi. Along with that the female lead, Eve, isn't a sickeningly-busty, ecchi shot whore, she's actually a respectable character with some decent comedy scenes as well and boy does she kick some ass. Finally a good, action-packed, high-octane fighting anime without disgustingly obnoxious ecchi all over the place mucking it up.

With that in mind, the fight scenes are plentiful and I have yet to see a bad one, they're all completely over-the-top and insane, especially those involving the oh-so-GAR Adam Blade. For those who don't know, the ones fighting are the 'Needless', people who have various powers such as elements, transformation, copying, making things invisible or visible, etc. What I like about the supernatural powers in Needless as opposed to the norm, or something like say Tokyo Underground (a cookie to whoever's actually seen that one) is that the characters use their powers in ways you generally wouldn't expect. For example a needless that Eve and Cruz fought once seemingly had several different powers because he was creating things out of thin air, floating, throwing weapons at high speeds and altering the battlefield. Needless can only have one power so naturally this confused them, once they figured out the kids power it made sense, it was all just one power used in several different ways, none of which being the expected for such a power. For those who don't mind minor SPOILERS!! the power was toggling the transparency of objects, making them visible and invisible at will. END SPOILER!! And that fight was highly strategic as well, which I enjoyed a lot. Bottom line, the fight scenes are awesome, and none of them are drawn out for episode upon episode like Bleach, Fairy Tail and especially Naruto so they never get boring to watch.

Last but not least is the colorful (literally) array of characters, pretty much all of which are likable. My personal favorites are Eve and Blade because yes even though they do get on my nerves on occasion (Eve with her nicknames, Blade with his pathetic womanizing) they're completely and utterly bad-ass. Eve is probably one of the best female fighters in anime that I've seen. The only character that's unbearably annoying is Cruz because not only is he completely powerless, but he's a wimpy little bitch. He's constantly worrying about Blade screaming "Mr.Priest!!" like a little pansy and always like "No, we can't beat them, they're too strong, Mr.Priest is gonna die" I mean just shut up already! -.- Jeez he's like a male Orihime except probably more useless because at least Orihime has powers, this kids got nothing -.-

Mmkay, nice, semi-off-the-cuff post right there. Just cuz I figured it's rare I post on an individual anime itself so yeah, and I'm honestly really enjoying this one. Top 10 List: Anime Hoes

I guess this should really be called a 'Bottom 10 List' given that this is actually counting not only how slutty the characters are, but how much I hate them. Given that I utterly despise sluts of any sort, real or anime...or any sort of fiction. Now I guess the fanboys might not like this post very much given that I'll be tearing apart characters with quite a lot of fan-service scenes (for the most part) so warning now. Also I feel the need to point out that Misa Amane of Death Note and Agnes Boulange of Shukufuku no Campanella just nearly escaped being on this list. Misa's justification being that she's only like that for her boyfriend, and refused to even so much as kiss another guy, even just in a movie, so I don't know that she can really be called a slut. Anyway:

Number 10: Ayame "Sa-chan" Sarutobi (Gintama)

Kay now if the subs on that picture don't explain it all just...wow. She never stops whoring herself up to Gin and asks him to do sexually abusive BDSM things to her. Not only does she ask but since she knows he wont do it she ties herself up in bondage-style in attempt to get him to do naughty things to her. All this while making sexual noises/faces and in front of a ton of other characters usually.

Hell even when Gin was in the hospital she wouldn't quit in her advances and sexually harassed him there too. Honestly I know its just for comedic effect given that Gintama is a comedy anime so thats why she's not high on this list, but either way she's still a hoebag. A desperate hoebag no less, she's not being slutty just to be slutty like some other characters, she's being slutty because she is that desperate.

Number 9: Kuroko Shirai (A Certain Scientific Railgun)

I absolutely hate this bitch. She was the sole reason I couldn't continue watching this anime, her slutty lesbian rapist antics just pissed me off way too much. Up to the point I saw, there wasn't a single episode where she didn't try to rape Mikoto. Mikoto would be having a cool moment and this stupid hoe would just come along like BOOB GROPE!!! out of nowhere, it was horrible.

She's also delusional and seems to think that Mikoto is her property or something, it's annoying as all hell. For Gods sakes she gets all upset and bent out of shape on the subject that Mikoto wears shorts under her skirt. Gee I wonder why! She even goes so far as to wear sexy underwear in attempt to get at Mikoto at night in their room, it's ridiculous. She's definitely one of the most straight up obnoxious sluts on this list. Her voice is also really freaking annoying but that really has no bearing here.

Number 8: Chizuru Honsho (Bleach)

Chizuru is a hoe much for the same reasons that Kuroko is, considering they're basically the same type of character, save for that Chizuru is more useless than Kuroko. Just to cover my bases, for the few who don't know Bleach Chizuru is the red-haired one doing the raping. Orihime, her constant victim, is the one being raped. Chizuru is absolutely obsessed over Orihime's boobs, it's insane, every time she gets the chance she'll literally jump in from nowhere and freak out and grab Orihime's boobs. Thankfully only to get beaten up by Tatsuki cuz quite honestly people, this bitch deserves a serious beating many times over. And not only is she herself a slut, but she constantly makes Orihime temporarily her slut on multiple occasions. I also guess I should clear up that the reason I hate her and Kuroko has nothing to do with that they're lesbians. I know people are gonna attack me about it anyway so I don't know why I bother, but the fact that they're lesbians has nothing to do with why I hate them. Its the fact that they're slutty, rapist, hoebags.

Number 7: Shelley Maycraft (Shukufuku no Campanella)

Ok now I'm not gonna hold her outfit against her given that it's anime...even if she is theoretically a bit old to be wearing that given that she has a son who's...well I can guess he's well past adolescence. Strangely she looks good for her age O.o Anyway no, the reason I say she's a hoe is because she flirts with her own son! Very sexually I might add.

Not only is that slutty but just...why? It's reallly just gross. Like honestly, even if your mom did look like that, would you want her flirting with you and seducing you? No probably not if only for the simple fact that...oh I don't know...she's still your mom! Her constant advances on Leicester honestly scared me throughout the entirety of this anime, very rarely did she have a scene where she didn't do that to some degree. If memory serves she also would try to flirt with several (of the few) other male characters and/or I believe compare breast sizes with the female characters...or something to that effect, I can't entirely remember. But she just takes a woman's quest for eternal youth a bit too far if it means doing crap like that, while she's married mind you.

Number 6: Okoi (Basilisk)

This was a close one between her and Kagerou but I figured letting everybody you fight touch you all over is more slutty than seducing and kissing every male you fight with. Now yes I know that Okoi only does this because it's part of her power, she absorbs people's blood with skin-to-skin contact, but honestly, she lets...I believe its either Rousai or Nenki grab her boob in order to do this. She also wears slightly more revealing clothing than the other kunoichi in order to accomplish this as well which only really stands out in this anime because this is one of the few with little to no scantily-clad women and relatively little fanservice given the mature target audience. Anywho though, regardless of the reason, she lets herself be touched/rubbed/groped all over...thaaaats pretty slutty.

Number 5: Kikyo (InuYasha)

If I'm not mistaken I did a rant on her before and she's probably the only one on this list without a sexual scene or ecchi scene or panty-shot of some sort. Then why, you may ask, is she on this list? Well simply because she spends the entire series trying to get into Inuyasha's pants...er...hakama. You can't freaking kill her either! No matter how many times she's killed somehow or another she comes back to chase after Inuyasha some more. And don't even try to say "oh she just does that because she's trying to kill him because she still thinks he's evil." no, just no. Earlier in the series when she finally gets Inuyasha alone she like seduces him and kisses him and shit. Maybe she very well does wanna take him to hell, but I bet only so she can seduce him and do things with him without Kagome around. Honestly throughout the entire series she rarely does anything save for trying to get at Inuyasha any time she sees him, yeah a long the way she stops to help some people, but thats really it. She's not higher on this list cuz yeah, they were together at one point and they did love each other, so I guess I can't freak out on her too too much but ugh...she also just irks me a lot.

Number 4: Mitsuhide Akechi (Battle Girls: Time Paradox)

She's basically the same as Kuroko and Chizuru, however the reason that she's higher on the list than they are is for the fact that her advances on her victim are far more sexual and desperate than the other two. The last episode I watched of Battle Girls: Time Paradox was the one where they were doing a play and all Mitsuhide tried to do was come up with ways to have sex with Nobunaga and fantasized about sleeping with her. I can't even tell you how annoying that was, pretty much all her lines in that episode was her blushing and desperately wanting to get into Nobunaga's...well....she doesn't wear pants so I'll go with armor. She acts as if her life depends on it, or at the very least seems like she orgasms over Nobunaga constantly...which she probably does. Not only that but she's annoyingly possessive over Nobunaga to this end, whenever Nobunaga is nice to Hideyoshi she flips a shit and gets jealous, as if Nobunaga were sleeping with Hideyoshi instead of her. Now again, I'm not harping on her cuz it's girl-on-girl, honestly in a world of only females I'd assume there'd be a fair amount of that, it's just the way she goes about doing it that's skanky and really pisses me off. She has that "Oh *blush and moan* you can have my body and do naughty things to me" persona all the time, you don't get much more desperate than that.

Number 3: Simca (Air Gear)

Huh, haven't talked about Air Gear on here since the eye patch list, surprising considering how much I enjoyed that anime. Anyway though, Simca really is in all senses of the word, a slut. Ringo even outright calls her a skank at one point, albeit not to her face, as awesome as that would have been. In either the first or second episode you see her skating around an AT event teasing guys and letting them slap stickers on her ass. When Ikki asks to do so, she teases him further and says only if he can catch her. Later on in the series she winds up in Ikki's bed naked with him when he wakes up and...I believe she was naked in front of him on another occasion but I don't know for sure...a shower/bath scene with Ikki comes to mind. She seduces him all throughout the series, thus making Ringo extremely jealous and Ikki freaking falls for it! Ugh -.- boys.

As if her behavior towards Ikki and various other guys throughout the span of the series wasn't enough, honestly, why would you ride AT's in such a short dress?! To attract sexual attention of course! Honestly, at least Ume, Ringo, Rika and most other girls in the anime have the decency to wear pants when they ride AT's. But Simca? Nope. She just flies around high in the air, jumping over people, doing flips, ect. all with just a short little dress to "cover" herself. The funny part is she knows how much she teases all the boys and takes pleasure in it. The sad part? I can't say people like this are confined to anime, they really exist -.-

Number 2: Misuzu Kusakabe (11Eyes)

Shocking she's not first right? Given the very first post I ever wrote was about how she's such a slut. Throughout the entire series she's literally constantly trying to lose her virginity to Kakeru, despite knowing he has feelings for Yuka. She uses any excuse do do sexual things with him, usually using her clan abilities as some dumb excuse. Because apparently being naked in a candle-lit room together will save his life -.- Especially if you wake up with your face in his naked lap the next morning, yes, wonderful plan Misuzu because that's not just an excuse to see and do other things to Kakeru's dick -.- And when she manipulates him into having sex with her at the end of the series because it'll save the world I mean come on, really? Really?! For even more elaboration on how she's a slut, see my very first post.

Number 1: Riko Mine (Hidan no Aria)

I never thought I'd see the day when I can find a character more slutty and more disgusting and more annoying than Misuzu, but in watching Hidan no Aria I was proven wrong. Riko is always seducing, stripping for and attempting to rape Kinji...and arouse him in various other ways. And her goal really is to arouse him, because when he's aroused he goes into Hysteria Mode and thinks/fights a lot better. But almost always when they're together she tries to arouse him.

Once they were taking a test and she layed on his lap and put his only pencil in between her breasts, saying that he needed to get it in order to finish the test, and moaned when he proceeded to do so. She would often tell others (especially Aria) that they had done sexual things. Once she all-but raped an unsuspecting Kinji after tackling him to a bed and she never hesitates to show him as much skin as possible. Actually, scratch that, often when she get's the chance she'll strip down to her panties and bra in front of him jut cuz. She takes the opposite of the girls who'll freak out and smack a guy for a perverted misunderstanding to an extreme, and it's just as annoying if not more so with the frequency that she does it. To top that off she's an absolute bitch. All of these reasons combined and...God you just need to see some of the shit she pulls [off], and that is exactly why Riko Mine is anime's #1 Hoe.

Best of the Season: Deadman Wonderland and C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

Ok ok I know I promised you guys a Top 10 Anime Sluts post that should be pretty funny hopefully and I am working on that I promise (more comments would give me more motivation) but it's not often that I do an off-the-cuff post like this. I just read a very negative review of C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control with which I disagree wholeheartedly, so I felt the need to post about these two awesome anime.

Deadman Wonderland:

This is an absolutely disturbing, sick, yet awesome and riveting anime about inmates in a prison called 'Deadman Wonderland' which is not only a prison, but an amusement park for civilians. The prisoners take part in various dangerous events, likely to get them killed, such as deadly obstacle courses where the obstacles are high-voltage electricity, swinging axes, several story jumps with a bungee cord that may or may not be too long, floor tiles falling away to reveal massive spikes, ect. This is the "entertainment" aspect for civilians. However, that's just on the surface SPOILER!!(kind of) deeper down the prison is really a research facility utilizing inmates they call 'Deadmen', inmates who have the ability known as 'Branches of Sin' which allows them to control their blood and use it as a weapon. Anything from blades to whips to bullets to shields, these people can do it with their blood, making them essentially killing-machines. They are pitted to fight against each other and the loser takes part in a "game show" in which they are strapped to a table, spin a slot machine-like device and whatever body part it lands on gets removed. END SPOILER!!

Yeah ok I must sound like a total creep for liking this, but I have a thing for anime...or any work of fiction really, where the lines between "good" and "bad" are blurred. In this anime the protagonists are death row inmates, cold-blooded murderers and the like. However they're portrayed as good, and the antagonists are the prison officials and guards, who are truly sick, messed up people. In that aspect it's similar to Death Note, Code Geass and Zaregoto Book 2: The Kubishime Romanticist by Nisioisin. There is no clear "good" and "bad", or normally "good" people will be portrayed as "bad" and vice versa. Love stuff like that. Along with that the fight scenes were really good and the characters were very interesting. Most had some form of a back-story, the most interesting and heart-wrenching being Nagi's. Their escape plan at the end and seeing it attempted was really awesome too, very well thought out and it was even more nuts to see it thwarted. Shit got really sick with that stuff in the last several episodes with the Undertakers and such.

The only thing I honestly didn't like about it was Ganta's constant whining, but that was compensated for by the array of other cool characters such as Shiro and Senji. And the ending...or lack-there-of...there really was no ending to speak of. Hopefully there'll be a second season of this epic anime where stuff will be cleared up. I highly recommend watching this one to anyone who doesn't have a problem with blood and gore, cuz I must say, I usually don't care either way for that stuff but Deadman Wonderland is very good and well worth the watch.

C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control:

Cross the stock market with the Roman Colosseum and throw in a dash of moral struggle and you get this interesting gem of an anime. With the most originality I've seen in a very long time, there's really only one bad cliche that this falls into and its that "normal boy trying to get stronger to save the world" scenario. But even that isn't too bad here given the originality of everything else here. At first the anime started out extremely trippy, with that purple-haired creeper to the left, Masakaki. He looks creepy, has a creepy voice, and just decides to come out of nowhere whenever he feels like it, desks, floors, ceilings whatever...however the one thing it looks like he needs to come out of however never has on screen, is a closet...yeah ok that joke sounded a lot better in my head. But on several occasions he creeps on Kimmimaro and honestly at some point I was half expecting him to be like "Hello there, I'm your friendly neighborhood child molester".

ANYWAY though lol, this anime takes place in 2 dimensions, the real world and the Financial District, the financial district is...well the stock market of sorts where "deals" are battles using ones "assets". An "asset" is a summoned being that is the embodiment of a entre's (the people in the Financial Districts) future. The entre's fight along side these assets and whoever loses the deal loses large sums of money in the real world and if they go bankrupt in the Financial District, a large portion of their future is lost. It's really quite interesting how this unfolds and puts economics in an interesting perspective. Again, really original, and contrary to what a lot of reviews will say, I find that you don't need to know too much about economics for this to be enjoyable, it helps, but it's not mandatory. A lot of the terms used (ie. Microflation, Mezzoflation and Macroflation which are the asset attacks) aren't even true economic terms...and if they are...well 1. they're weird and 2. I'm ignorant of that and I still enjoyed it. The fight scenes are definitely flashy, with all the 'flations' that I previously mentioned, which makes up for the somewhat drab design of the Financial District. Again, with this one as well the only thing I can complain about is the ending, not that it was bad per se, it was just unmemorable. If you asked me how it ended, I honestly couldn't tell you.

Anyway, I highly recommend both of these. And sorry my life's been so busy and conflicting with my posting as of late.

Anime Senior Awards

So since it's graduation season and I was thinking about the Senior Awards in the yearbook, I thought it might be fun to do some of those but with anime characters. I took the categories from my school all except for a few that either are school-specific or I couldn't think of characters for. As my criteria I limited myself to characters from 2010 anime I watched because it's the last completed year. This includes anime like Fairy Tail, Bleach and Naruto Shippuuden that aired through 2010 but didn't end. And obviously just like in high school there's a male and female chosen for each one. The separate criteria for each category I'll explain on a case-by-case basis.

Cutest Couple:

Ok now for this one the only real criteria I gave it was that it had to be a canon couple, cuz otherwise I had too many choices, especially with shows like Shukufuku no Campanella and even some of those could be argued to be canon. So for this I chose OtohimexTaro from Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi. Why? Simply because they're adorable together and care so much about each other and...well honestly it's quite funny how they always go do dirty things in a closet or something. And it's pointed out that Otohime 'extracts his essence' or something to that effect causing him to go into 'gentleman mode'.

Best Looking:

This one the criteria are pretty straight forward, best looking characters in this time span. Admittedly I had to ask a male friend for a bit of help coming up with the best looking female character considering that's not exactly my area of expertise. I had it narrowed down to Lucy Heartfilia and Carina Verritti. Anyway my choices for this are Souji Okita of Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan and Carina Verritti of Shukufuku no Campanella. My apologies to anyone who is OCD like me and the messed up justification of this picture will bother them...actually unless I can fix the format of the blog I think they'll all look like that...damn.

Best Eyes:

Again, straight foreword, this one goes to Yakumo of Shinrei Tantei Yakumo and Yuki-Onna of Nurarihyon no Mago. I'd say the reasons are pretty clear, for Yakumo, well, one of his eyes is red and lets him see ghosts 'nuff said. As for Yuki-Onna, well depending on if she's in her human form or demon form her eyes can be either blue or yellow which is really neat. The yellow is cool but the blue is really pretty, so either way they both look good.

Best Smile:

This one goes to Ed Elric of FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Miho Azuki of Bakuman. Ed's toothy grin is pure awesomeness ans Azuki has a really pretty, innocent smile.

Class Clown:

Now this one was a hard one given that there are a lot of characters that are funny. Hell, pretty much the entire cast of Gintama, Fairy Tail or a lot of others could have worked for this spot. So I tried to pick characters whose purpose more or less is to be funny. With that I picked Katsura Koutaro of Gintama (he wears goofy costumes, 'nuff said) and Shino Amakusa of Seitokai Yakuindomo. She buys Tsuda a vibrator for god sakes! And she can never take anything seriously, especially her student council duties and some how makes them perverted.

Most Talkative:

This one goes to Italy of Hetalia: Axis Powers and Kagura of Gintama. Naruto was a close 2nd tho given that he never fucking shuts up, but I figured Italy was worse, and he just rambles at least what Naruto says usually has some form of a point. Whenever I think of Italy being talkative I think of when they're all on the beach and Italy's waving a white flag begging not to be hit in the balls for whatever number of reasons. Huh...and now the HTML coding is deciding to be a bitch and not format the headings right -.-

Best Hair:

Rikuo Nura in his Night Form from Nurarihyon no Mago and Karin from Naruto Shippuuden. Honestly I don't have much to say about this one, they both have really kick-ass hair. Karin's mostly its neat on one side, shaggy on the other...looks kinda scene actually.

Best Dressed:

This one was both a fun one and a hard one for me because I like character designs so much, though I had pretty limited choices with the guys. Shiki from Togainu no Chi wouldn'ta been bad but he ultimately lost out. My choices for this one were Date Masamune of Sengoku Basara Ni and Ryoko Ookami of Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi. Now it's not so much that either of these characters are the nicest dressed, but in my opinion the coolest, either way a form of best so it works.

Most Likely To Succeed:

Now this one is REALLY biased, and its not particularly because I like either of these characters...in fact I hate them both, but they're the Valedictorian and Salutatorian sooooo...yeah. Not to mention the word "succeed" is a bit vague especially when dealing with anime, so I just went with the typical use of the word for these awards. This would be Shouko Kirishima ans Toshimitsu Kubo both of Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu.

Most Musical:

Annoyingly few choices for this one, but I wound up deciding on Austria of Hetalia: Axis Powers and Kanon of The World God Only Knows. Austria because I remember him playing a piano at several points, at one point stating that he was going to express his anger using the piano. He also started the piano at a young age as shown in the picture. Kanon...well, do I need to explain this one? She's an idol.

Most Changed:

This one I also had a lot of different options since many good characters change over the course of the series. I eventually decided on Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach without much difficulty, however picking a girl was a bit harder, I wound up chosing one who changed quite a lot but not in a positive way. I chose Chizuru Yukimura of Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan at the beginning of the series she was alright, then she got cooler, wanting to join the Shinsengumi and learn to fight...but then she took a 180 turn and became an annoying crybaby with what I like to call 'Orihime Syndrome' wherein the character rarely does anything apart from cry and scream a male leads name and then cry about how useless they are. This is essentially what Chizuru did and it annoyed me a lot. As for Ichigo...well I shouldn't even need to explain this one for anybody who at least knows the premise of Bleach but he starts as a normal high school kid, then becomes a Soul Reaper (huge change #1) then later becomes a Vizard (huge change #2). Not only that but he is constantly getting stronger throughout the series, including attaining bankai.

Class Flirt:

I'm pretty sure the male choice for this one is obvious, Keima Katsuragi of The World God Only Knows considering that he flirts with literally pretty much every girl in the series. As for the girl choice here I had to be careful to find a character who's a flirt without also being a slut, for that I chose Rangiku Matsumoto from Bleach.

Most Artistic:

Now I really only have one anime to choose characters from with this so my choices were Moritaka Mashiro and Yuriko Aoki of Bakuman. Why? Cuz they're mangaka of course! Personally I think a certain aspiring mangaka in my school should have won this for our school awards in real life but whatever.

Oh God I'm finally done hallelujah! The formatting and HTML coding was being a bitch to me on this post and I kept procrastinating due to more drama in my life -.- Ugh, just not good all around. But, I got it done, thats the important thing, and coming...either tomorrow or Thursday hopefully I'll put up a Top 10 Anime Sluts list, which should be pretty entertaining given that I hate sluts and get to go on rants about them in that post. Then I have my first driving class on Friday, very scared for that lol. Anyway though, now that its summer I should hopefully be posting more often in the next two months depending on what goes on in other areas of my life. Pre-Viewing Impressions: Summer 2011 Anime

Holy crap I've been so terribly horribly busy lately that I'm about 3 weeks behind on most of this seasons anime that I'm watching and I haven't watched any of Fairy Tail or FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood in about two months, maybe more. School work is also piling up given that it's almost summer and there's finals and study guides for finals, so you can probably imagine why I haven't posted in a while. And I've had issues with my boyfriend who then broke up with me however I still love him very much and hope we can be together again; so I've been on and off depressed about that. Enough about my personal life, given that the summer anime season is upon us (really starts in July), and this post will be shorter than most of its kind, I figure I may as well get it done.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu 2:

Since the first season of this was pretty entertaining, I figure season 2 may as well be worth the watch. Plus if I remember correctly season one ended with a cliffhanger, or at the very least I know the F class didn't accomplish their set goal, which was beating the A class.

That being said this takes place in a school, following the adventures of class F who, like their name states, has a grade of F. They therefor have the shittiest conditions, broken/non-existent desks, shabby, minimally-furnished room, ect. Their goal? To defeat class A (whose classroom is like that of a palace, padded chairs, laptops, beautiful curtains, high-class food, ect) and take their classroom. This is done by battles of summoned beings: little chibi forms of each character that fights other summoned beings, their health and hitting power is based on the score on their most recent test in that subject.

Definitely original, and while there were several factors that annoyed me a bit, for the most part season one was good enough to make me want to see season two. Especially given how intense the final battle was. I'd reccomend trying season 1 before this comes out and giving them a look. Season one really is quite a quick watch.

Dantalian no Shoka:

Surrounding a seemingly-mystery premise with a guy who inherits this mansion and encounters this girl who is a gateway to this demonic bookshelf. As one could imagine the demonic bookshelf holds the books of, well, demons. Then there's something about using the access to this bookshelf to solve cases of prohibited books or something. Seems interesting enough.

I know I've been asking this same thing of basically every new season of anime now, but I could really use a new good mystery. The last good one was Psychic Detective Yakumo given that Gosick didn't really suit my fancy. However it's been a while since anything as amazing as Spiral or Death Note has come along...now that I think of it Spiral desperately needs a second season. Anyway though, I'm getting waaaay off track, not like I expect this one to live up to either of those, just saying a good mystery would be much appreciated. I'm not quite sure why but this one seems like it'll have more of a Pandora Hearts feel to it. Which, I enjoyed the premise of Pandora Hearts but it was too slow and dry for me. So I guess as long as this one manages to not do that it should turn out pretty good. I also quite enjoy Dalian's character design, she's very pretty.

Itsuka Tenma:

Supposedly this has something to do with a boy having a dream about a female vampire giving him her "poison" whatever that means. But personally all I see are kick-ass character designs and two awesome looking male characters w/ awesome-looking powers, one in the form of a sword. 'Nuff said.

In all seriousness though, those two guys are pretty much my whole reason for wanting to see this, because their designs are awesome and I absolutely love the way the sword and...arm power looks. I think I'll refer to that as the Devil-Bringer-Look-Alike for anybody who's played Devil May Cry 4. Which leads me to believe there'll be some fighting involved which is always a plus. Also that cat girl (I think) contributes to that same reasoning, she looks actiony and like she can control lightning or something.

Now here's a point you wont see me make often, in the trailer there was an absolutely adorable near-kissing scene between...I think the pink-haired girl and the guy with the Devil-Bringer-Look-Alike. It was sooooo cute and quite honestly if I could find a romance anime that's cute without being stupid or love-triangle-like, then I'd be a happy camper. Shocker coming from me right? Yeah well I like anime couples...in fact I have 111 and counting random anime couple (not from any anime) pictures saved on my comp. Most romance anime are simply too obnoxious to watch.

Kamisama Dolls:

Some murder anyone? Yeah sure in an anime...or any work of fiction for that matter, I'll take as much of that as the creators are willing to dish out. Better be good though, a show with some serious mind-bending intrigue has gotta come about at some point right?

Anyway, these people are apparently at a party of some sort and in the hallway there's a bloodied dead body. The little girl in that picture, the younger sister of the main character, informs them that the murderer is some guy named Aki with his Kamisama Doll. Seems interesting enough in theory, though what made me really want to see it was watching the 'Story Side' trailer. That looks pretty damn kick-ass in a lot of parts. Also if there's gonna be a cute focus (not creepy incest) on the relationship between this little girl and her big brother, even better, because I've always found those sorts of relationships adorable.

It doesn't seem particularly mystery-ish to be honest, however at least the plot idea of the murders seems interesting enough. God I sound like some sort of creep...I'm not, really, I promise, I'm just overly fascinated with psychology, murder, crime, mystery, critical/lateral/logical thinking and plan on going into the field of Forensics. Wow now that I think of it a forensic-based anime would be AMAZING... *fantasizes about that*

Kamisama Memo:

Centers around a NEET Detective girl. A cookie to who can figure out the one word there that makes me wanna see this. Obviously detective. And the NEET (Not in Employment Education or Training, usually referring to otaku) bit somewhat interests me too, not entirely sure why.

But yeah anyway, doesn't look to be too deep of a mystery, so I'm not really getting my hopes up for that, but still I think it could be pretty neat (pun intended). And I gotta say the girl has a sort of very cute prettiness about her and her hair reminds me of my own Chitaka alter-ego when I draw what she's supposed to look like.

I do wonder how old this girl is though, honestly, look at all the stuffed animals. She seems like she's 10...how can you be a NEET or a detective at 10 years old? O.o Then again a child-genius angle wouldn't be bad either. Those are usually pretty good, like Ayumu of Spiral or...well I don't know if you could count Yako from Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro since she's not actually the one really solving the mysteries until kinda the end, but you get my point.

Nurarihyon no Mago 2nd Season:

Despite making me want to take a nap directly after watching just about every episode, the first season of this was actually pretty good, and left off in a spot where a second season is definitely needed.

The one thing that bothered me a lot about the first season though was all the time spent on Rikuo in his human form and all his friends with their stupid ghost-hunting club. So for one thing I really hope there's less of that in this season and quite frankly Kiyotsugu pissed me off, I don't know if I could take much more of him.

But I'd absolutely love to see more of Yuki-Onna, Night Rikuo, Gozu and Kurotabo. Fight scenes with them would be even better, because while the fight scenes in the first season were good, they were very few and far between. I am looking forward to seeing more of this anime though and I really hope it'll be an improvement on the already-pretty-solid first season. It's Shonen Jump though, so I have some faith.

Sacred Seven:

Lastly, this is probably a shocker to anyone who knows my general distaste for mecha anime, but from watching IS: Infinite Stratos and Code Geass I've become a bit more open. And again my visually oriented mind was hooked when I saw the picture and the trailer I thought it looked pretty cool and honestly those two things are a big part of the reason I actually want to see this.

To be honest I really don't know much about what the story is supposed to be, but it seems very action-oriented by the looks of the trailer and the school setting interested me to. Not that I generally like anime in a school setting, but action and fighting anime in a school setting are pretty neat. Plus that reminds me a bit of Infinite Stratos minus the ecchi, which is always good, There looked to be only one upcoming title focused on ecchi *does a strange dance in celebration*. Wow...looking at that picture I just realized that I think the purple/black robot is flipping someone off, that's unexpected O.o And also, just some added information, by the bits of the trailer that I understood it seemed the orange-haired girl is a princess or important person of some kind with a special power. Guess we'll just wait and see.

So thats it for the anime I want to see this season surprisingly. Usually there's more but whatever, maybe that means I'll actually have more time to post and get through my want to watch list this summer. I think I've realized I need to throw more of my usual ranty humor into my posts, similar to UltimateUKFFFan's Top 10 Lists and Zero Punctuation's game reviews. The two that inspired me to start this blog. So yeah, I'll try to be more humorus with my rants like when I'm ranting with friends.

First Impressions: Spring 2011 Anime I've Tried

This is by far the best season ever so far since I've been actually keeping up with currently airing anime in Japan, which has been about a year, out of the 12 anime I tried this season, there were only 3 I didn't like...not really much to say to preface this surprisingly, sept that I'm gonna go out of order cuz there's one anime I'm really itching to rant about. Sorry this is so late by the way, I've been busy, and I'm 1-3 episodes behind on all of these because I'm so busy, but this is as usual all written w/ the impression of the first 2 eps.

C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

In a nutshell this is some really trippy shit. It's like Alice in Wonderland on shrooms, which is pretty insane cuz I'm pretty sure Alice was on LSD so I guess this anime is on both LSD and shrooms. It's completely sick and trippy, best way I can describe it. I'm not going to even try to explain completely the Financial District but that purple-haired guy (Masakaki) takes the brown-haired kid (Kimimaro Yoga) there and...well of course that place is pretty twisted as well. But there are these battles called "Deals" in which people fight with these summoned beings called "Assets". Like everything else about this anime it's really quite creepy and strange. Told ya, trippy.

So yeah despite it being totally creepy, it's creepy in an awesome sort of way and I quite enjoy watching it thus far. It also has a mysterious aspect to it, but that could just be because Kimimaro has no freaking idea what's going on for the most part, and I can't say I blame him. The fight scenes or Deals are pretty cool and the "special effects" are awesome too, the anime overall actually is quite visually appealing, albeit the trippy bit that I mentioned before. And of course the main character is a prodigy and then there's the older more mysterious former prodigy who confronts him, to which he freaks out and is all like "I don't want any part in this", fairly standard in that respect, but still good, I'll be watching this through to the end, really curious as to how it's gonna unfold.

Deadman Wonderland:

Hands down one of my favorites, if not my favorite, this season. This is absolutely sick and screwed up but it's excellent on so many levels. It revolves around this prison called Deadman Wonderland, where the prisoners are entertainment for people who come to see. And when I say entertainment I mean gladiator type entertainment, watching the prisoners get brutally killed and maimed in sport-like events. Like that picture is from the second episode during an obstacle course race, Ganta trips and is looking at those swinging axes figuring they aren't real then he sees this guy get splattered by them and he's like "shit they're real". This obstacle course also featured bunjee jumping w/ a cord that may or may not be too long, electric panels and spikes. It's absolutely sick, and so twisted, but it's very good for some reason. It's got a great, yet pretty small cast of characters thus far, Ganta has his moments, but Shiro I enjoy quite a lot because unlike Ganta, she's happy-go-lucky all the time and not being a whiny emo. Granted I can understand being pretty emo in his situation, he is on death row, but I mean c'mon, you're the main character in an anime! You wont die...unless this is Death Note which it isn't.

A-Channel:

So. Much. Chibi. Oh my god it's like the chibis have taken over O.o Now don't get me wrong, I think chibis are adorable, but an entire anime done in chibi (or...well I'm gonna call this pseudo-chibi cuz it's not really chibi) is a little excessive.

The first episode bored me sooooooo much I don't even know how I sat through it all. The characters were also very annoying, and the girl with the bat, yeah not cool, she was a complete creeper. Then there was some weird accidental misunderstanding of a lesbian sex scene...with girls who look like they're five years old -.- I've grown to just say 'what the hell ever' to accidental sex scenes or what people misunderstand to be a sex scene in anime, but when the characters involved look like pre-pubescent children, no thanks I'll pass. Other than that though, it simply wasn't entertaining in the least, there was absolutely nothing that held my interest for anymore than the first 5 minutes.

Ao no Exorcist:

Good ol' fashioned shounen demon ass-kicking? Hell yes! This is so action-packed thus far like any good classic shounen series should be, and God knows I love a good classic shounen title. In the first two episodes there have been great fight scenes in both and as per usual for Shounen Jump series' the characters are immediately real and likeable even in the first episode.

Rin, the guy in the picture, finds out that he's the son of Satan after being teased and called "a demons child" his whole life and after being raised by a reverend, you can imagine he doesn't like that so much. He also has this strangely InuYasha-Esq sword that contains his demonic powers and the sheath keeps those in check so when it's unsheathed he goes into crazy demon mode. Overall pretty cool so far, can't wait to see more.

Aria Scarlet Ammo (Hidan no Aria):

Given my normal distaste for guns and tsundere I'm surprised I like this one as much as I do. This surrounds a school for butei, which are essentially detective mercenaries, and a butei student who is...honestly annoyingly apathetic, hence that I can't remember his name and then his pink-haired stalker Aria who is a world-renowned butei.

I feel the need to talk about Aria on her own, cuz she makes my opinions conflict. I hate tsundere bitchy girls, she is most definitely that; but she is also really bad-ass and not only wields dual pistols with immense skill but if those are disarmed she has dual katanas that make her nothing short of awesome. She's also super strong as you can probably imagine. So I don't know whether to love or hate her, cuz I quite like her...but she really pisses me off sometimes.

But yeah anyway, this has some pretty intense scenes so far that while they aren't the psychological thriller-Esq moments I'd like to see in a detective anime, they're still suspenseful. Your average 'disarm this bomb under these impossible circumstances' bit, but it is in fact pretty good nonetheless. The ecchi isn't too heavy, its bearable for those like me who have a strong dislike for it, just some bouncy boobs here and there and a couple panty-shots. I'll be seeing this one through to the end as it really does look quite promising and I've enjoyed the two episodes I have seen so far.

Dog Days:

This one is honestly far too happy...sickeningly happy actually to the point where you're left being like "Come on I wanna see some bloodshed!". And yet somehow it still manages to be entertaining. In this fantasy land its basically the dog-ear kingdom vs. the cat-ear kingdom in an "all out war". Which you know would be pretty neat if it wasn't essentially an athletic competition (much to the thrill of the jock-like protagonist, Shinku) and instead of dying the combatants get knocked out by being turned into either cat heads/tails or dog heads/tails that make strange noises. The two sides are also apparently friends at some level and when the princess was taken hostage, they treated her like an honored guest. And the male protagonist Shinku is actually quite annoying at points.

Despite this though there is enough good points and interesting, non-annoying characters to make it entertaining enough to watch and somewhat enjoy. This is the type of anime that draws me to the antagonists because they're not actually evil, and quite frankly they're a lot more bad-ass and less obnoxious than the protagonists. Take the guy on the left for example, Gaul, waayy cooler than any of the protagonists. Plus the antagonists are the cat-ear kingdom, and given that I prefer cats over dogs because dogs are well...annoying, I'm also quite partial to the cat-ear kingdom. This is one of those that I'm gonna see through, but just barely, like I could not watch it and be happy and not miss it, but I figure why not, it holds my interest enough.

Hoshizora e Kakeru Hashi:

Yep, this was pretty much exactly like what I thought it'd be, very very boring. I had a problem figuring out whether it's made for the creepy otaku perverts who like to masturbate to ecchi shots of young girls or young girls who like to swoon over pathetic and not-the-least-bit-cute romantic stories. But either way it was really very obnoxious a majority of the time and the short-haired bitchy girl who's friends with the pink-haired girl OH MY GOD she was so obnoxious! Let your friend live her own life for cryin out loud! I'm honestly beginning to get tired of anime girls sqealing "pervert!" any time a guy does anything, perverted or not! Its so obnoxious, and even I'm not that bad...I call my boyfriend a pervert a lot, but not if it's not perverted or not his fault, I mean really, c'mon, I feel bad for the guys. So yeah as if this wasn't obvious I'm not watching this one.

Sengoku Otome (Battle Girls: Time Paradox):

This was one of those anime that I thought I was going to hate because it would be a senseless ecchi romp. And I was actually pleasantly surprised in one of the few times I've ever been glad to be proven wrong. There isn't too much ecchi in it, honestly Hidan no Aria has more I think, and the fight scenes for the most part are pretty good.

Now, coming off watching Sengoku Basara as the last historic anime I watched, it's quite strange to see those very same characters, whom I've come to know as Sengoku Basara portrays them, switched into women. Especially Oda Nobunaga and Date Masamune, Toyotomi Hideyoshi I can deal with. Speaking of her, she is an absolute ditz I'm surprised she doesn't piss me off more because she is the classic complete airhead female

lead.

Anyway though I absolutely love most anime centered around feudal Japan, especially the Sengoku period since I'm a huge fan of Date Masamune (female or male XD just a cool person). And girls fighting without your view being obscured by flying skirts, shreadding clothes, panties and boobs is always a plus too, I can actually focus on the fight instead of cursing anime creators for being such pigs. The characters and their designs are enjoyable and there is a talking dog with a Date Masamune helmet and perverted sense of humor whom I quite enjoy. This is definitely on my watching list for the season.

Sket Dance:

I'm honestly not quite sure why I'm watching this one to tell you the truth. I guess just cuz it's not good enough to be like "Hell yeah I gotta see this!" but not shitty enough not to watch.

It's in an episodic format, the characters are pretty enjoyable, not awesome, but enjoyable. Honestly it just reminds me of a watered-down version of Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama tachi because it has the same exact premise of a school club existing to help the student body, just not as good. This one said club also does a lot more goofing around, I'd say this is more humor based than Ookami-san but personally I don't even find it funny, thats just me though, I have a weird sense of humor. I figure I may as well continue watching this, I don't really know why, just cuz.

Steins;Gate and The World God Only Knows 2
I'm not gonna really talk about these just cuz Steins;Gate I watched only 10mins of and hated so not much to talk about with only 10mins. And The World God Only Knows 2 is...well a season 2 that I've already written my opinion of the first season, this is pretty-much exactly the same so again, nothing really to say.

Toriko:

Aaand last but most definitely not least is this wonderful gem. Meant to be more overflowing with action and pure GAR than to tell any particularly riveting story, it manages to be just as entertaining as reading the manga had lead me to believe. My only complaint is that it seems a tad rushed so far and the stupid reporter girl they decided to put in there just for the anime really annoys me. She reminds me of a far more obnoxious April O'Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the old episodes).

It is set in the Gourmet Age, where basically the entire world revolves around food, chefs who prepare it and the Bishoku-ya or "Gourmet Hunters" who catch it. Among these Bishoku-ya there are...I forget how many but these heavenly kings who are the best at their trade. Toriko is one of them and as you can guess it follows his story of beating the snot out of various giant, dangerous creatures to get them for food. And of course Toriko being as insanely manly as he is, has to have a pathetic weakling traveling partner right? Well that would be the little wimpy chef, Komatsu. All in all it's really great and I highly recommend either watching the anime or reading the manga (if you can handle some shit artwork), it really is very good and pretty original in concept. It's especially enjoyable if you love food.

So yeah sorry I'm soooooo late with this, but my life has been hectic lately and I'm behind on everything, anime, school-work, videogames, blogging, sleep, various other things I need to get done, you name it and I'm probably behind on it so yeah. Thankfully though, summer is coming which means I'll have more time for everything, including watching more anime and blogging more. Tell me whatchya think! =D

Anti-Yaoi (Rant)

Oooook now, time to piss off some fangirls that...well for lack of a better term need to be put in their place. Been a while since I did any sort of controversial topic so here it is: I hate yaoi with a burning passion, I hate it, I wish it would go drop off the face of the earth...same with yuri but to a lesser extent simply because it's less IN YOUR FACE ALL THE TIME like yaoi is.

Now, just incase there's anybody who doesn't know, yaoi is simply a term for male anime characters in a homosexual relationship/situation. It is completely and utterly repulsive and unnatural in the way that I can bet that most mangaka did not want their straight characters turned gay. If they had wanted them that way, they would have drawn their manga that way in the first place! Thats probably the worst kind of yaoi, is when the obnoxious fangirls decide to take perfectly straight characters and bend them to the wills of their putrid fantasies.

It's not overly terrible if it's actually in the anime, I don't know of any off the top of my head because I don't watch that crap, but at least then its canon, nowhere near as bad as taking say Ichigo of Bleach who has no homosexual tendencies whatsoever, and drawing, writing, fantasizing or ranting about him being in some form of a relationship or sexual situation with Renji. For example see below. Now, as rediculous and disgusting as

is, it gets worse, because the rabid fangirls will leave no anime guy intact. They take brothers and make them have sex for christs sake! Not just brothers but brutal enemies such as Ichigo and Grimmjow! Or you get both at once in the form of say Inuyasha and Sesshomaru! Thats disturbing!

So lets say for a second the pairings weren't creepy and lets take a pairing that could potentially at least have some sense to it like say Mustang and Huges from FullMetal Alchemist given they do sort of have some kind of bromance going on, it's still completely disgusting! Why oh why would you want to see 2 men get it on?! Thats gross! Now before anyone accuses me of being a homophobe I'm not, I don't support homosexuality in any way, but I also will not condemn a person just because of that, in fact I have several bi/homosexual friends so you can just throw that accusation out the window. So I do not hate homosexuals, but honestly, there's no point in using it as a form of entertainment either.

By this point any yaoi fangirl still reading is probably 1. very angry at me or 2. thinking something along the lines of "if you don't like it, ignore it" now yaoi fangirl to that I say YOU WONT LET ME IGNORE IT!!! Holy shit I mean seriously it's everywhere you can't escape it if you tried! The fangirls rant about it and wail about how everyone hates it constantly and never lets you forget it! They constantly post pictures of it everywhere they can on the internet and fanfiction.net is covered in the shit! I will admit that a guilty pleasure of mine is straight lemon fanfictions, but something extremely frustrating is going to look for a certain paring (I have this issue commonly with Fairy Tail and Air Gear fanfics) and all there is, is freaking yaoi lemons! No! One straight guy raping another straight guy up the ass is NOT entertainment! And if you complain about it anywhere, hordes of fangirls will ooze out of the woodwork and act as if you're the demon spawn for insulting their precious yaoi. Honestly,
you need like a whole army to deal with them! Its really quite pathetic how they refuse to accept 1. that most of the characters aren't gay and 2. that most people don't like yaoi. Get over it.

Since I feel even more need to add fuel to the fire that the fangirls are probably gonna set upon this blog post, I think I'll throw Ouran Highschool Host Club into the mix here. God I don't know if I should call that yaoi or yuri but it's definitely extremely creepy. I think I was forever scarred to hear Vics voice used to be gay. Even if Tamaki technically was flirting with a girl, he was doing it under the impression that he was flirting with a guy, meaning he wanted to flirt with a guy meaning he's gay! And as if that wasn't enough the twins are even worse because they always flirt with each other, it's terrible! There are even yaoi fangirls in an anime! I told you they're everywhere! Ok so that stuff is canon yaoi and it's not as bad, but being yaoi its just bad in general.

Probably one of the worst displays of yaoi I've seen was at Zenkaikon when there were two people (not sure of their genders) cosplaying Naruto and Sasuke and they were making-out at one point. -.- Just about made me sick. Still though, the run of the mill "I'm gonna use my artistic super powers to draw Naruto and Sasuke in a steamy situation" is just terrible and it's everywhere! And it's the fact that the fangirls simply don't give it

a rest. For whatever reason they seem to think that if two characters hate each other and want to kill each other, such as Sasuke and Itachi, that really means they're in love and want to screw each other senseless. No! Thats not how it is! If Masashi Kishimoto wanted his characters to be gay he would've done so. If he wanted his characters to spontaneously look overly feminine and make out with each other, he would've done so, but he did not! Therefore the fangirls just need to accept that they're NOT GAY FOR EACH OTHER...at all...period.

Honestly, the whole yaoi fandom wouldn't be anywhere near as obnoxious and disgusting if it weren't for the fangirls who whine and obsess over it everywhere and post pictures of it everywhere and insist that somehow NarutoxSasuke makes more sense than SasukexSakura. That and when they flame people out for hating on their oh-so-precious yaoi, they don't get that they're just making themselves and the yaoi fandom that much more obnoxious, and doing themselves no favors. If yaoi and/or the obsessive fangirls could just be incinerated off the face of the earth that'd be nice, but until then I just needed to get this rant out there.

Fangirls please just face it, those characters are NOT gay. Yaoi is disgusting, lots of people think so, deal with it! Anti-Yaoi Forever!

Adventures at Zenkaikon V

As I've mentioned in recent posts, on Saturday March 19th I attended Zenkaikon V in King of Prussia Pennsylvania with my mom and two super awesome friends Brandon (who's now my boyfriend but wasn't at the time) and Megg. In short it was completely awesome! Met Vic Mignogna, had a hillarious awesome hyper day and it was just all around a lot of fun, yeah it had its bad parts, but they were minor compared to everything else. So for anyone who cares to know, here's my recount of how the day went, far less confusing than Comic Con as well.

First off, Megg slept over the night b4 since we had to leave at around 7ish in the morning but we didn't get to have our Pre-Con Vic-Orgy due to lack of time. For anyone whom I just scared, a Vic-Ogry entails simply watching a ton of anime with Vic or listening to his music or watching videos involving him and fangirling over it, not an actual orgy. Anywho tho, I used my Team Magma Grunt cosplay again tho the belt fell off about 1/2 way through the con -.- Megg just wore my old Akatsuki cloak and another friend of mine lent her a hidden mist hitai-ate so we just said she was a new recruit into the Akatsuki. Brandon was Ichigo of Bleach in his Bankai form...tho I don't think I ever got a good pic of him w/ the wig on lol. And my mom was a "Bewildered Con Mother" as per Vic and Steve Blum's video about that. I actually think she got the most picture requests out of any of us. And yeah I made that shirt using transfer paper and fabric dye and the

symbol there is the kanji for 'mom' minus the honorifics. Thankfully she had a lot of fun along with the rest of us as she (to quote her) "lost [her] con virginity". So yeah when we got there we kind of wandered around aimlessly for a while given that the layout of the place was a bit weird and there was really nothing on the schedule at that moment worth seeing, some Ouran Highschool Host Club which even if I didn't find it completely creepy, it was pretty much full. So yeah for the first while we just sorta wandered and looked at all the cosplays, honestly there were only a handful all day that I thought were really AMAZING. An annoyingly large amount of men in dresses too -.- Gross. Funny actually because that was Brandon's fear about going to this, Megg and I reassured him that there were none at Comic Con so there probably wouldn't be any here, boy how wrong we were. And worse yet we kept running into the sick bastards!

So anyway after that we went into the Artist Alley and Dealer Room (which oddly enough were in the same room) which had some really awesome stuff, as expected, some fairly cheap anime and a manga library. Probably one of the things that impressed me the most was the Kimono vendor, they were selling several different types of Kimono, both male and female, yukatas as well, for actually really cheap, like somewhere between $25-$60. Which when you put it into perspective is really cheap cuz I got my Kimono 2 years ago from a Japanese marketplace and it was upwards of $100. Kimonos aside I suppose I should explain that picture with the Star Wars plushies there. I'm not into Star Wars one little bit,

however my little brother is, so I was told to photograph anything Star Wars related. I must admit though, I'm a sucker for chibis and those really are quite adorable.

This is just a random "landscape" picture in part of the dealers room, noticed after I took the picture that there was a girl cosplaying as Lucy Heartfelia of Fairy Tail which is pretty damn awesome. There weren't too many Fairy Tail cosplays there, only one or two.

Around this same point we ran into another best friend of mine, Ginookami-chan (the one who was featured in my Comic Con post as Namine) who was now cosplaying L, and her friend Mikayla who was apparently the manga version of Allen from D.Gray-Man, I couldn'ta guessed that though given that I only watch the anime. There's a picture my mom took of us
all in basically the same area that the last photo was taken. In order from left to right it's me as Team Magma from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Ginookami-chan as L, Megg as a new Akatsuki recruit and Mikayla as Allen...no idea where exactly Brandon was when this picture was taken O.o I think buying his Tensa Zangetsu...that would probably be a good guess.

Speaking of swords, after we were done with this picture we wandered some more...now that I think of it there was a lot of wandering going on right up until lunch and then all the events we attended afterwards. But anyway speaking of swords in our wanderings we came to a stand selling real swords, daggers, throwing stars/knives and the like. Most of them were in fact really elaborate and cool, my mom actually took a somewhat creepy liking to them and spent a good 5 minutes looking at them, and for anybody who's been in a Dealer Room at a con, you probably know that spending 5 minutes in one spot is quite a feat. Excuse my absolute shit picture of the swords on the rack but it was lots of different light all around a dark area with a dark background where the swords were and my flash was off because otherwise it focused on the lamps. Not exactly an easy picture but you get the point, real swords, really cool...even if my picture completely disproves that. EDIT: You'll have to click the link at the end to see all my pictures in order to see my crappy sword picture, because it's being evil and doesn't want to position itself correctly.

One thing that greatly surprised me in the Dealer Room was how expensive anime was compared to at Comic Con, I mean there it was dirt cheap, like several episodes for $5. At Zenkaikon a large majority were the same amount of episodes for $20, the same price you'd usually get them at any other store, so it was slightly disappointing. The merchandise was cheaper at Comic Con however the food was cheaper at Zenkaikon so take your pick. So yeah that picture was taken in a random empty hallway (like I said, it had a weird layout) and thats Megg, Brandon and my mom...Brandon's wig seems to be conveniently covering his eyes strangely O.o However at that point since we were getting kinda tired despite not really doing anything we had decided that at that point Brandon was Ichigo being defeated, just cuz it fit the look of the situation quite well. So yeah at this point, looking at the schedule we thought it'd be a good idea to go eat lunch because after this point we had quite a lot of events we wanted to go see.

Eating lunch I managed to get a picture of Megg being a creeper, decided to leave the red-eye effect cuz we all figured that enhanced the creepy factor which is kind of what we were going for. So anyway during lunch we saw another friend Megan and...aquatance Sara who had a really awesome Toph cosplay that I didn't get a picture of, but as they were walking away I kind of did a double-take at Sara and saw she didn't have shoes on. As I pointed that out we all sort of looked at each other like O.o and wondered why in the hell she was crazy enough to walk around all day at a con barefoot, but whatever, sounds like foot-suicide if you ask me. Anyway, we figured that while we had a place to sit it would be a good idea to plan out where we were gonna go the rest of the time so we looked through the schedule and noticed a few odd things. Later during the night there was a strange amount of hentai panels which we noted were pretty weird. Namely one called "Hentai: A History" which we noted is a tad strange because honestly, if you're into hentai, I'm pretty positive you're not interested in the history of it, you just want the sex. Quite an interesting conversation about that actually.

So anyway we decided after lunch to go wait in line for a password game-show with Vic Mignogna and Todd Haberkorn which I must say was well worth the long wait. While in line we talked amongst ourselves and saw the guys in dresses...again...several more times -.- It was really quite disturbing, especially cuz one of them really looked like a girl from behind, gross. While in line I got a decent candid shot that you see to the left...I'm going to assume she's a Vaporeon maybe? There were actually a lot of human-Pokemon there. Plus if you look in the back right of the pic there's a semi-decent Kamina there from Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan which made me pretty happy to see, despite not really liking that anime I do like Kamina. There were a handful of Yokos there but most of them were fat -.- My mom kept asking questions about all the characters and costumes at this point actually, it was quite funny. Oh! And in line near us there was also a fabulously done Mello of Death Note that I got a picture of, the scar is done like perfectly . Anyway though, waiting in
this line was totally completely worth it because the game-show was sooooo funny, though frustrating at the same time too...but awesome just cuz Vic was in it.

I guess I should probably explain the game-show huh? Basically is along w/ Todd and Vic there were 2 regular attendees that played on a team with any one of the voice actors. The object of the game was to give your team mate a one word hint as to what a given password was. Only the audience and the person giving the hints knew the password obviously, and the hints could only be one word and not a word form of the password.

Quite possibly the funniest part of that show was when one of the passwords came up as 'hentai'. Kinda caught a lot of people off guard, including me, Megg and Brandon, we thought it was pretty funny. Then, my mom, fitting the description on her shirt asked me what was so funny about 'hentai' being a password, to which I told her that hentai is in fact anime porn, which she then thought was quite funny. One of the passwords given to hint to that one was 'porn' and I thought Wow O.o And there are small children in this room. So instead of me talking about the game-show I should probably just show you the video I took of it, don't think the hentai bit is in the video tho...it might be.

So yeah that's that, it was a middle round I got there and by the way, at the beginning he's not saying "The N Word" like we originally thought he's saying "The Yen Word", just to clear things up a bit. So yeah this was the first time seeing Vic for the day and it was totally amazing...like Vic himself. After that we met up with some other friends, Ginookami and Mikayla again, and this time Sano and Ashley which was pretty neat, Sano was cosplaying Maka of Soul Eater and shortly after this point we actually ran into two other Makas, it was really weird actually. And if you notice in the picture each one of them has one or two technical
inaccuracies. You'd think with 3 Makas one of them would be 100% accurate, but Sano on the right has a screwed up wig and no gloves, the middle one has a blue tie and the one on the left doesn't have a plaid skirt.

So yeah that's the Maka trio, actually a bit after this point Sano had gone upstairs to go do Karaoke to 'Blue Bird' from Naruto, gotta see if I can find the video of that, ah yes ok click here to see the video of Sano singing karaoke. Honestly I've heard her do it soooooooooo much better in the past, but as you see in the video she got people really into it and I've gotta give her credit for getting up there, I personally could never do it, so much credit goes to my little sis (she's like my younger sister, she isn't actually though) for being able to pull that off, wish I was there to see it but I was doing other things at the time.

After this point we walked around in the Artist Alley/Dealer Room a bit more where I got a Zenkaikon V T-Shirt. I'm glad I got that cuz honestly I could kick myself for not getting a New York Anime Festival T-shirt. There were these cute little chibi Inuyasha plushies that we saw too, I got a picture of them but I'm not gonna put it here right now, they're adorable though. Once we killed some time in there we figured it'd b a good idea to get lined up for Vic's autograph session given that it was an hour and a half early and people were already lining up...or lining up to line up, since you weren't technically allowed to line up at this point which was really

quite weird. While doing that we ran into this one Team Aqua girl and her friend who was Winry from FullMetal Alchemist in her black skirt outfit. Naturally I had to get a picture with the Team Aqua girl cuz that was just awesome to run into her given that even at Comic Con I didn't see any Team Aquas.

Wish I'd actually gotten her or her friends name because they were both really cool, we were also in line together for an hour and a half to see Vic so we all talked quite a lot and got along pretty well. It's interesting to make friends at a con, especially since every other time I'm not exactly a social butterfly, but anime conventions are generally somewhere that I'm not too afraid to talk to people and in this case it payed off cuz we got to meet two really cool fellow anime fans.

Now that I think of it, while talking about waiting in line I should probably mention how hilarious some Vic fangirls were, cuz he had a panel going on at the time when we were in line and every single time there was massive fangirl screaming we were all just like "Vic must have said something". Megg added to the whole fangirl bit at one point when Todd Haberkorn passed her, she said hi and almost fainted, which I really wish I coulda seen because it sounds quite funny. Oh and I know that picture there is pretty random, but I just figured I should throw in the
picture of this one Altair we saw, which strangely was the same Altair Megg saw at Comic Con, go figure. Anyway though, back to the whole fangirling waiting in line bit. In sharp contrast to the awesome Team Aqua girl and Winry that we were talking to in front of us, behind us in line there was this one girl who...basically was the definition of "creepy raving fangirl". She kept freaking out and talking about how she was going to faint and screaming and...oh my God she was just downright creepy, and she had the creepiest fangirl giggle whenever somebody mentioned Vic or whenever he spoke, God it was terrible, funny, but terrible. Her, and the men in dresses are exactly the archetypes that give con-goers bad reputations and make people think all of us are like that.

So anyway, after the line started to move we were all extremely excited about getting to meet Vic, Megg did a couple fangirl screams...I'll admit I had to do it once too just for the effect, meanwhile Brandon and my mom both sort of did a mental facepalm over all the fangirling. My mom got another picture request from another con-mother who said she loved her shirt and that would be her "costume" next year. Gotta say I felt pretty proud for coming up with the idea, lots of Vic fans really liked it as well. So yeah after waiting in line for an hour and a half, we finally got to meet Vic! The pictures I have of that aren't so great and taken at inopportune moments given that my mom was being sort of inept with my camera, but here's the one (crappy) picture I have of me with Vic. My mom took it b4 we were both smiling, but either way, I got to meet Vic! I
bought one of his CDs that I had autographed as well as the inside of the game case for FullMetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy which I'll put a picture of at the end of this post. Megg got a CD also and had that autographed along with a FullMetal Alchemist movie DVD case and Brandon got his Ichigo sword autographed.

One thing for anybody skeptical about meeting voice actors, unlike regular celebrities they're very real and genuine and honestly care about their fans. The reason for this mentality is probably that when you like a voice actor, you hear their work before knowing anything about them, so you like them for a genuine reason, because you like their work. The way Vic talked to all of us was very real and down-to-earth, not "worship me because I'm famous" like other celebrities. And both he ad Todd (if I'm not mistaken) donated a large amount of money to the Japan relief fund. They're very genuine people. And Vic thought my moms shirt was funny as well which my mom seemed very proud of, even she enjoyed meeting him. Great experience, most definitely the highlight of my day, Megg
and I were shaking and fangirling a lot after meeting him, to the point where Megg had problems texting her
mom to tell her about it her hands were shaking that much. We were both like "OMG I can't believe we met Vic!", it was completely amazing.

After this point we were all pretty much dead on our feet given we got there at about 9:30am and it was now about 4:30pm, cons are a lot more tiring than one would think. Especially since we were all up at 5-6am as well, but it was so worth it. So after this we went home, all of us really excited about having met Vic, even Brandon was more excited than he thought even though he only knows two characters Vic voices, but still. Naturally once we got in the car we were all like "Thank god for seats!" and we played the Vic CD (titled Remix) that I had gotten...to which Megg and I were fangirling a bit more, but not too much. The weirdest thing about that fangirling though was that Megg was like "...He smelled good" which caught me off guard a little bit, I thought it was pretty hilarious, however Brandon and my mom didn't hear the comment so I was like "Megg said that Vic smelled good" and after a little pause Brandon was just like "Ya know he kinda did O.o" which we all thought was absolutely hillarious. My mom concluded that Vics cologne apparently attracts both men ad women since we had accused Brandon of being gay...which I am now very aware that he's not.

So yeah that was basically our day, minus the hilarious, overly perverted conversations on the way home and lots of other weirdness on the way there, but that doesn't really have anything to do with the con itself so it's not in here. And here's the part where I sincerely apologize for this post being so late, I've had soooooo much stuff going on between tons of homework as of late and lots of drama because my boyfriend of almost 2 years and I broke up just a couple days after this con and then as of just the other day Brandon and I are now dating and I'm very happy with him, but either way, I've had a lot of stuff going on so this post just kept getting pushed back. Sorry about that, but better late than never and I should have at least one or two other posts I'm doing this month. To see all the pictures I took that day, including the crappy ones look here. So yeah thats really about it. Sorry if this wasn't the most entertaining post ever, but cut me some slack, my life just took like a 180 turn in a matter of two weeks. Better posts will be coming I promise!

Pre-Viewing Impressions: Spring 2011 Anime

This coming Spring is gonna be a really interesting season for me O.o New anime comin' out, new Pokemon games came out (White is AWESOME btw), 3 sleep-overs in one month, goin to Zenkaikon on March 19th with 2 of my most awesomest friends, shitty problems with my boyfriends mom and trips that he's forced to go on, get to work w/ my dad and cousin and so I get to make $100 sometime in April, my birthday on April 29th, hopefully I can get my permit sometime in May and several more posts I have to do in the next two months! I think I'm gonna esplode. So before that happens I guess I should get on with this post huh? Oh and if anybody cares, I've come to realize I'm FAR more open to new types of anime or types I normally wouldn't watch with stuff that's new rather than things that have been around for a while. Go figure O.o This season has it's fair share of really creepy shit by the way, such as 30-sai no Houken which teachers 30yr-old otaku virgin males about sex and Lotte no Omocha is about a 10yr-old Succubus who has to have a male harem so she can drink semen to stay alive. However it also has a decent amount of real gems as well. So seriously I'm gonna start now.

A-Channel

First example of not-my-usual-choice, this seems like it'll be a less childish version of Azumanga Daioh honestly, which I hated simply for it's immaturity. It's not even so much that this one is mature as in complex issues or sex references, but the characters seem far more mature than those of Azumanga Daioh who go beyond the point of 'moe' right off the deep end into 'utter stupidity'. But basically this is about the school life of a handful of girls that you see in the picture.

Honestly there really is nothing in particular that I can point out that calls to me about this anime and there's nothing in it that I would normally enjoy...ever, but there's just something about this that's telling me to at least give it its fair try. The girl with the bat is kind of scaring me however, I mean really she looks ready to kill someone O.o She's even holding it in the trailer...though at the same time it makes her seem like a potentially appealing character. You know maybe that's it, shows with no plot are either hit or miss mostly because of characterization or lack-there-of, so maybe what I'm hoping for in this one is some good character development and a nice break from all the damn ecchi floating around as of late.

Ao no Exorcist

Another Shounen Jump series which is always a good thing given I generally like a majority of Shounen Jump anime out there. This one is about a kid who finds out he's the son of Satan...but decides he doesn't like that very much so essentially gives his father a big slap in the face by becoming an exorcist and killing off demons. Tough love much? But yeah I'm always up for some good fight scenes and demon-slaying bad-assery, who isn't? So I'm looking forward to this one a lot, the trailer looks epic, like the animation and the glowy blue fire effect and swords are always a plus. I can actually kinda see this kid having like some nasty hate for Satan and the series ends with a huge epic battle between the two, that'd be pretty sweet.

Aria Scarlet Ammo

I think Hell is about to freeze over right about now for anybody who knows my utter disdain for first person shooters based on the fact that I generally find guns boring. This anime has a great deal to do with guns...and I'm really quite excited for it! Maybe its the guns mixed with school aspect, maybe it's the bit about "armed detectives" (aren't they all? O.o) at said high school or the fact that the trailer makes it look really kick-ass, but there's something about this one that makes me really quite excited for it. And if this picture disappears on me one more time I'm gonna be really freakin pissed.

My one worry: that it'll turn into ecchi. Why do I think this? Well besides the fact that everything's been resorting to ecchi lately, the way some of the girls breasts were drawn (not exposed, just the style of drawing) in the trailer hints at ecchi, because through the shirt they had that typical ecchi art style which raises a little red flag in my head. On top of that just a simple thematic equation here can lead you to the same conclusion. Girls. Obviously a huge majority of guys like girls. Guns. Again a huge majority of guys like guns as well. That would tell you that it'll more than likely be geared towards guys, which is all fine and dandy and makes up a majority of the anime that I watch. However anime centered around girls fighting AND with the added male obsession of guns, odds are the creators will probably throw in the male obsession of ecchi there as well. Thats just my thinking though.

C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control
I honestly can't even begin to explain this one in my own words...well....alright I probably could but quite frankly I'm too lazy but it has a lot to do with Japan almost financially collapsed but then they were saved by some organization but crime and unemployment rates still sucked. Then some guy makes a deal with some other guy and is drawn into the mysterious "financial district", cuz ya know, that sounds scary.

Its not even so much that I'm into economics that makes me want to watch this cuz I'm really not...I had to sit through an economics class "assembly" on "understanding your paycheck" and was bored out of my mind...definitely not into economics. However I am into psychological stuff, specifically psychological thrillers and depending on the turn this one takes it could have some of that. I'm also a very visual person when it comes to anime (which is most of the reason I can't bring myself to watch Rurouni Kenshin) and that picture looks really cool. Honestly as long as the picture of a new series looks good enough there's not much I wont try. I also enjoy the character designs shown here. Sorta wish I had a little more background on it though.

Deadman Wonderland

Remember me mentioning this several seasons ago? The summer season I believe, well now it's finally airing! For those of you unaware, its essentially a story about this kid who gets wrongly accused for his entire class being murdered and is thrown in this fucked up prison/amusement park (O.o?) called Deadman Wonderland and he wants to get revenge on the true murderer. Sounds like my cup of tea, murder, tinge of mystery, psychological given the murder and that they're in a prison, some revenge...that made me sound like a total creeper O.o I'm not, really, promise XD But yeah sounds like it could be a good watch.

Normally this is where I'd throw in my complaint about it turning ecchi, however despite the naked girl in the picture I'm not gonna do that here because shockingly I'm not really worried about that. The reason being is because most, if not all the pictures I see of that girl are not depicting her in a sexual fashion, she's naked yes, but not drawn in such a way where it's meant for fan-service. To put it in better terms, nudity for sexual gratification and nudity for art or plot or some other purpose are entirely different. Think: look at a lot of ancient/semi-ancient sculptures or paintings and compare that to todays porn or ecchi, they're completely different, like I don't think people go home and pleasure themselves to renaissance art, thats just weird. It's pretty much the same thing with this anime. So for once I'm not really worried about the ecchi.

Dog Days

Now as if we couldn't get any more opposite on the anime spectrum from the previous series, lets talk about a nice light-hearted fantasy shall we? Though then again Maho Shoujo Madoka Magica has taught me never to judge happy anime for what they seem. One thing is for sure though and its that neko ears are almost always a good sign...unless there is gay men everywhere in the entire anime/manga, yes I'm talking to you Loveless (*hates yaoi*). But given that this seems to be mostly, completely-clothed females I don't think that'll be an issue.

I like the character designs and quite honestly fantasies and magic and mystical lands are something I wish I watched more often if it weren't for that pesky Shoujo theme that most have. Or they become overly dramatic or emotional like Shining Tears X Wind. So just simply because it's a fantasy that has the potential to be pretty decent, I think I shall try it.

I also feel the need to point out the blonde boys weapon. Take a second and look at that will you? What is it? A giant laser pointer? I mean really, that doesn't sound like a good weapon at all. What? Is he just gonna be like "Fear me cat-eared creatures! For I the almighty generic blonde kid will point at you then everyone will FOCUS ON YOU!!!! Muahahaha!" I mean if I was a villain I don't think I could take that sort of weapon seriously, unless of course it was a legit laser.

Hoshizora e Kakeru Hashi

I don't know why I even try anymore with cute romancy anime based of visual novels and have nice character designs...because most of them turn out horrifically ecchi like many other anime out there currently. However for some reason I still feel the need to try this because, like I said, the character designs look nice and I like the cute romancy story behind it, girl gets accidentally kissed, friend sees, pretty sure love-triangle ensues. Remind me again why I'm even giving this a chance? I have no freaking idea but what can it hurt right? After being stupid enough to try the first episode of Yosuga no Sora on the hope of mystery developing I don't think much else in the way of disgusting/bad anime can scar me anymore. I'm also quite curious to find out why there's a miko in a highschool situation.

Sket Dance
Well originally I really thought this was going to be about dancing with really cool music and an original plot and all. However its actually about the misadventures of a school club dedicated to helping other students. Sounds a lot like Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi huh? For those of you who watched it anyway, and if you haven't I'd recommend it. However given that this is another Shounen Jump series, the characters look cool and the plot seems at least moderately entertaining, I'm gonna give it a shot. On that note of the characters I really enjoy the girls design for some weird unknown reason, it's simple, semi-tomboyish, but effective as visually portraying her as a potentially good character. And honestly if any of my regular readers haven't figured out yet that my opinion of character designs is super-important to how I view an anime thats just kind of sad. Hoping this'll be good enough to watch through, but original enough to separate it from Ookami-san though I've rarely known a Shounen Jump anime to be particularly bad, save for Beelzebub.

Sengoku Otome

Probably a big surprise too see something with such accentuated boobs and ecchi on my list huh? Well this goes under the category of me being much more lenient with new anime than others, as much as I utterly despise ecchi, I do like samurai and I do like historic Japan. So I figure I may as well give this a try, even though I'm pretty sure it'll just be pure ecchi and it's based off a Pachinko game so I'm assuming it'll be really similar to Rio Rainbow Gate which was all fan-service and I've heard it sucked a lot. However I'm sort of going on the off the slight hope that it'll have a nice historical element to it...who am I kidding? This'll probably be more shallow than a kiddie-pool that's sat out for a day or so.

This actually seems like it could be something along the lines of a cross between Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls and Rio Rainbow Gate....now if it could b a cross between Sengoku Basara and Hyakka Ryouran that'd b really sweet. But nooooooooo the anime industry has to be sooo obsessed with sex and boobs all the time to worry about historically good plots. So for anybody into tons and tons of ecchi this'll most likely be for you...while I'm sitting there face-palming wondering what ever possesed me to try this in the first 5 minutes of the first episode. Props to the accurate Date Masamune helmet on the girl and the plushie near the bottom though!

The World God Only Knows 2

Elsie and Keima are back in season 2 of The World God Only Knows a strategic romantic comedy that I honestly really enjoyed the first season of. I know romance isn't really my thing as far as genres go, however what made me really like the first season was the strategic, calculated way Keima went about getting these girls to fall in love with him, really appealed to my psychological, mystery genre preference. This season two is greatly needed actually cuz the first season kind of ended at a semi-random spot, I mean it didn't leave anything really hanging...kinda, but there was no real closure either. <3 the bell sleeves on the new devil girl too, she could definitely add a new element to the show and honestly this is an anime thats surprisingly hard to get sick of despite its omnibus format and new story arc to match every couple of episodes. In those 3-4 episodes though the temporary characters are always developed nicely which is something else I'm really looking forward to more of given how hard that is to pull off. But honestly if you haven't seen the first season yet I'd highly recommend giving it a quick watch (it's only about 12 episodes) before this one airs in April so you can have em both watched because even if you're not a romance fan it's very good and I think season two has the potential to be even better.

Toriko

The one I'm looking foreward to the most this season I can tell you with confidence that it will be very good. I've read the first couple volumes of the manga before the old-time art forced me to stop and its AWESOME. Shounen Jump again this one is all about food. Literally, its about that giant muscular guy (Toriko) killing these crazy-strong creatures with his bare hands all for the sake of gourmet cuisine. In fact he is a gourmet hunter, and one of the best there is. Now I know it sounds dumb, but the sheer level of humor and badassery makes it worth while and I really can't wait to see this one. And really, just look at Toriko, you don't get anymore GAR (extreme excessive manliness, like Chuck Norris level manliness) than him, how many other characters can punch a 300yr old massive monstrous deadly crocodile in the face!?

Granted I'm a food person, so I'm probably partial to this anime because of that, but in both the manga and the 1-episode OVA the characters were just superb. Its a very very typical Shounen genre anime, but at the same time its original, I can't say I've seen an anime about brutal food-hunting before. And some of the monsters Toriko fights are so epically grotesque yet impressive due to sheer awesomeness and often times size or deadly powers I can't wait to see them animated and in color. As I said before the whole reason I stopped reading the manga is because the art highly annoyed me, which definitely doesn't seem to be an issue based on the pre-release images of this anime. EXTREMELY excited for this one, highly recommend you give it a shot.

Steins;Gate

I'm wary about this one since I think it's from the same studio as the worst anime I've ever seen: Chaos;Head and is supposed to have some sort of connection to it, and if it's anywhere near as terrible as Chaos;Head was I probably wont watch more than 10 minutes of it.

However lets assume for a second that it's not complete shit like its predecessor it actually seems like it could have a semi-decent plot. It involves these people who somehow manage to re-engineer their microwave and enable it to send text messages to the past. It sounds like it could turn down the route of a mystery genre where it could be pretty awesome, or go into sci-fi which depending on how it's done would probably be a bit less awesome given that it takes a lot for me to like sci-fi. Given that Chaos;Head had an awesome plotline but failed and turned out like absolute garbage, maybe since this one has a semi-decent plotline it'll somehow turn out really good. Just as long as it's not a direct sequel because if they refer to anything from Chaos;Head I shall be completely lost because almost nothing in Chaos;Head was ever explained, so that could potentially make this really hard to follow if the two are closely related. But nevertheless something's telling me I should at least try this one.

FINALLY! Wow after about a week or more in progress I finally got this done! Between getting side-trackeded, not having the motivation, having homework, playing Pokemon, talking with my friends, having anime to actually watch and the stupid web browser on the school computers not cooperating making me unable to edit this at school it was absolutely nuts! And in another week and a half I'll have another long post to do about Zenkaikon. So any comments would be greatly appreciated so I know all this frustration over this post wasn't all for naught.

Top 10 List Presidents Day Addition: Anime Leaders

Given that this is a long weekend for Presidents Day for those of us in the US and I was itching to do a new post I've decided to do a Top 10 List paying tribute to the leaders in anime. What I mean by leaders is pretty wide-spread here, just any character who's first/tied for first in command of any given group or organization. For example it can be anything from head of an army to student council president and everything in between. However second in command or vice-captains don't apply here. I'll be ranking them not only on how much I like them as characters (as per usual) but their quality as leaders as well.

Number 10: Katsura Kotaro (Gintama)

I know I often seem to forget that Katsura is the leader of anything at times, given his ridiculous antics and the fact that he most commonly shows up without any followers. However he is in fact the leader of the Joi Faction against the Amanto race that has taken over Edo, leading the fight to put Edo back in the hands of humans and restore Samurai to their previous rights...or at least in theory thats what he does, we rarely see it. He's most commonly just goofing around with the rest of the characters...and showing up pretty-much everywhere with his...actually I don't really know what to call Elizabeth she's sort of a human in a duck costume so I can't very well call her his pet now can I? Well whatever, he goes around everywhere with her being a complete weirdo in strange costumes. However on a few occasions you do see that he is dedicated to his cause and has definite character growth in that area going from resorting to terrorist activities, to realizing he wants to achieve his goal without causing harm to Edo and its people.

Number 9: Sakurano Kurimu (Seitokai no Ichizon)

Kurimu isn't the most commanding leader around...well, except for when it comes to her height in which case she is very adamant that people don't taunt her about it (I know how she feels), but as Student Council President she does know how to handle a situation when she needs to. She often tries to divert the Student Council from their normal time-wasting antics and to do something productive and serious...however she is generally over-ruled or bribed into submission by somebody offering her sweets. Although constantly teased by the other Sudent Council Members she can take charge and organize things when needed and can in fact excel in her Presidential duties to the school...all except for paperwork which she usually winds up passing off to Ken. Which brings me to another point in saying that she is in fact genuinely caring, especially when it comes to Ken and has helped him in many cases...even if she is constantly teased by him, she knows how to work as a team. She's not so arrogant that she refuses to ask for help either, much unlike most leaders who think they can do it all, Kurimu actually has some humility. Well liked by the student body and having just the right mix of serious leadership and rediculous antics (as well as major moe points) it's no surprise that she's the Student Council President...even if she doesn't appear very commanding in the least.

Number 8: Shino Amakusa (Seitokai Yakuindomo)

Only slightly more serious of a leader than Kurimu, but also a Student Council President Shino has fewer people along side her, but also cares a bit more about her position. Most of the time she is an obsessive pervert making non-stop sex jokes and references throughout the entire anime...sort of reminds me of myself actually, and along with other characters has the interesting ability to spontaneously turn chibi at any moment! Despite being such a pervert and rarely thinking of anything other than sex jokes and her fascination with the male body that is "not taught in health class", she does her job well, even helping a fellow student get a club started..or keep it going...I can't quite remember. She also seems to have a blatant disrespect for authority in the way that she is constantly making fun of the Student Council supervising teacher. And while others may disagree, I personally think it was smart of her to get a guy in the Student Council, to understand the point of view of the new male student body that had never previously existed in their school. She is also very strict about the dress code, nearly choking Tsuda with his tie for failing to keep it properly tightened.

Number 7: Kirino Chiba (Bamboo Blade)

Not exactly as large scale as Katsura, but she's much more dedicated to being a leader. Kirino is the captain of her schools Kendo Club and while she may not be the best on her team, she has probably the most spirit and the most heart for the sport of anyone on her team...which is saying a lot given the dedication that Tama shows. Kirino takes the Kendo Club from a 1 person team (with two delinquent members who sporadically show up to beat on people) to the 5+ people necessary to compete in tournaments. She gets excited over the hard work that being captain requires and puts her all into it all the time, and she's always there to raise the teams morale even in the hardest of times. However over the course of the anime it's very easy to forget that she's captain as she is often over-shadowed by Tama. Though even when it was just her in the Kendo club, she refused to quit and was determined to restore the team to full members.

Number 6: Shinigami-sama/Lord Death (Soul Eater)

I guess it's sort of strange that I put the principal of a school on this list considering that most of them probably don't deserve much credit as leaders (I know mine doesn't), but Shinigami-sama is a great leader none the less. He sacrifices so much, his mobility for one, to save Death City and his students not once, but twice, and is crazy-strong. He is kind to all his students and seems to care about them individually judging by how involved he is and the fact that his students approach him readily.

What I'm quite curious about though, is how in the hell can this guy procreate? I mean seriously, he's not even human, how in the hell does he have a human son? I don't get it, even if his wife was human...how could he possibly have sex? He's some sort of black sheet non-human thing, it makes no sense!

Number 5: Hiyori Sarugaki

Now it has recently been brought to my attention that there is no official Vizard leader, and that there is some controversy between the so-called leader being Hiyori or Shinji, well quite honestly screw controversy for the purposes of this list because I for one consider Hiyori the leader and have support to back up that claim. Hiyori is the one that orders Shinji around from the beginning, she is the one who tells him to recruit Ichigo and is not satisfied until he does. She also has this nasty habit of beating Shinji with her sandal...which I don't think she would do if she was below him in rank. She's also just extremely bossy.

Well enough justifying why I say she's leader, as for why she's a good leader now. Yes she is fairly abusive, but honestly, how many people would take her seriously if she wasn't? She's serious and gets things done and doesn't take shit from anyone. She's also the one who took it upon herself (mostly) to train Ichigo, while the other Vizards do help and battle him in rotation, it is mostly Hiyori who's his coach.

Number 4: Date Masamune (Sengoku Basara)

He's probably leader on the largest scale out of any of the characters on this list, he's leader of the Oshuu Army, known far and wide as the Dokoganryuu (One-eyed Dragon). He is extremely respected by his allies and feared by his enemies and is quite possibly one of the craziest fighters in the entire anime. Even in real life as well as the anime he's an expert strategist. On that note, the character is actually very historically accurate for anyone who's interested. But he's very level headed and a flexible leader at that, for example when his right-hand-man is about to commit seppuku for betraying Masamune, he was the one to talk him out of it and tell him that seppuku isn't necessary. In that situation he could've just decided to be a complete dick and let him go through with it like tradition and honor dictate, but he's smarter than that and knows when he can't afford to lose a single comrade. He doesn't treat his followers as if they're below him, they're his friends, comrades and all on the same plane (save for fighting ability).

Number 3: Zero (Code Geass)

Ok Ok I know he SPOILER!! goes pretty psychotic at the end, however I think he redeems himself as well using his plan with Suzaku END SPOILER!! but through most of the series he's a great leader for the Black Knights for a great cause. He starts out this world-changing cause all because he wants to help his little sister, and he goes against the largest country in the world and his own family to do it. He gathers many loyal followers who have the utmost respect for him, most of which follow him without question. He is one of the most genius strategists in anime that I've ever seen and plays out his battles like a game of chess. He knows when to fall back and when to go all out, the only thing he particularly lacks is a connection of friendship to his followers, and he treats them like just that, followers...all except for Kallen. Though his cause is definitely a noble one and he follows it through to the bitter (?*) end. *SPOILER!! Personally I don't think he really died at the end, he's far too smart for that and theres much evidence suggesting that he didn't, but I wont get into that END SPOILER!!

Number 2: Master Makarov (Fairy Tail)

As the master of the Fairy Tail Guild, Makarov is the typical patriarch leader, similar to the wise old shaman type. That being said, he's extremely wise, powerful and cares about his guild immensely. Oh and don't let that picture fool you, he is in fact very short, which like a lot of other characters on this list, make them seem not very leader-ish. However he realizes how much his guild needs him, and he sees the members as his own children and he beats the living hell out of anybody who tries to mess with his 'children', take the Phantom Lord Guild attack on Fairy Tail for one, he went nuts and gave them hell. However along with his wise persona, he also knows when to forgive and forget, even letting two former enemies into the guild given that they truly mean to repent for what they'd previously done to Fairy Tail; he's simply too wise and too strong a leader to stay hooked on something so trivial as a mere grudge.

Number 1: Joi Touma (Psycho Busters)

Please note there will be spoilers for the end of this manga, so if you haven't finished or plan to read this manga (which I highly recommend) and you're the type to whine about spoilers, you've been warned. Joi is extremely wise beyond his years, he stays cool in all situations, even at the prospect of losing his own life for the sake of killing their enemy and saving the world. He cares immensely about his group of friends that he leads, even so much so to the point where he would trick them into believing he turned against them so they would have no qualms about killing Ikushima which would also kill Joi in the process, just to save them. He knows his friends well enough to know that they would never kill Ikushima if it meant killing him as well, but Joi is strong enough to make that sacrifice for everyone, and throughout the entire series he knew it would come to that, however went along with the plans anyway. And throughout the whole manga, Joi leads his friends with a level head at all times and they all respect him. His power is clairvoyance and with that he is an extremely strong and knowledgeable psychic, and mature to boot. As a great leader, Joi really has no flaws.

So there we go, Top 10 Anime Leaders. Agree? Disagree? Other opinions? I'd love to hear comments if you guys have any. Top 10 List Valentines Day Edition: Anime Couples

Hello all! With Valentines Day right around the corner I wanted to do some kind of Valentines Day post so here it is, Top 10 Anime Couples. Thanks a lot for everyone who's commented on a post of mine, it means a lot. Anyway, the guidelines for this one or fairly simple, I'll be including canon (actually in the anime) and non-canon couples. For Example a canon couple would be Light and Misa, they're a couple in the anime, and Ichigo and Rukia would be a non-canon couple since while it's implied they have feelings for each other they're not actually a couple in the anime. On that note there will be no yaoi/yuri couples since I hate both. Thats pretty-much all I have to say for now so I'll stop blabbering and start.

Number 10: Lelouch x Kallen (Code Geass)

Finally after flip-flopping my choice a bajillion times I decided on these two. Now please don't freak out, that picture really isn't as much of a spoiler as it looks if at all. But when I first started watching Code Geass a little over 2yrs ago, I liked Lelouch x Shirley a lot better....buuuut then I saw R2 and my choices switched to Kallen x Lelouch if for no other reason than they'd make so much better of a couple than Lelouch x Shirley. They work great together, have a mutual respect for each other and both want to protect each other to some extent. That and they're just so cute together, and I feel really bad for a lot of the shit they have to go through in their "relationship" especially in R2. Sadly though, as is the normal issue for Number 10 on these lists, I don't have much else to say.

Number 9: Kazuma x Ayano (Kaze no Stigma)

Hmmm I think my choice of text color clashes with Ayano's hair a bit...and I think something got mixed up with my headline code cuz it keeps switching sizes and I'm using the same code...eh oh well. Bottom line is these two are completely adorable and they're one of those non-canon couples who you can still see obvious signs of their feelings for each other throughout the anime. In fact they might actually become canon at some point, but either way.

These two actually would've gotten higher if it weren't for Ayano's constant PMS bitch-fits, but their cuteness really kicks up at the end of the series...along with everything else. They have several adorable moments sprinkled throughout the anime and even that typical random-bitch-who-wants-to-fuck-with-a-relationship that seems to invade most anime couples thus making me feel really bad for them. But they're able to overcome it and still be adorable, plus Ayano brings out Kazuma's rarely seen emotional side. I suppose they're simply caught up in the flames of love (ha ha, really lame pun...Ayano uses fire magic...oh never mind). Though honestly, how many people keep their eyes open like that when they kiss? I know I don't O.o

Number 8: Kazuki x Tokiko (Buso Renkin)

This was a very close almost tie between these guys and the last one especially because of all the scenes toward the end of the anime with these two it's adorable. Plus Mahiro helps them along as well at certain points. And there's no stupid bitchy character trying to get it between them like most other anime couples seem to have that pisses me off to no end >=(
They work so well together and Tokiko isn't really ever bitchy to Kazuki (that I can remember, I watched this about 3yrs ago) and they're always backing each other up and protecting eachother during the darkest of times like any good couple should. SPOILER!! They also have a scene that looks quite a lot like sex in outer space, it's quite strange especially for anime, when I saw it my first thought was immediatly 'SPACE SEX' END SPOILER!!

Number 7: Yuki x Tohru (Fruits Basket)

Now I'm pretty sure a lot of the fangirls aren't going to be very happy about this one, but to be honest I hate Kyo, and I think Tohru goes so much better with Yuki. He's much more caring, less of a dick, and they have more adorable moments than Kyo x Tohru. Take that picture for example, as far as I can remember, in the anime Kyo never had such an adorable moment with Tohru. Their personalities also fit together better than Kyo and Tohru because Yuki is more quiet and mild-mannered, just like Tohru. He's also more sensitive to her feelings...I guess Yuki is just an overall sensitive guy but not too much to the point where it gets obnoxious.

And if I'm not mistaken don't they even celebrate Valentines Day/White Day at some point in the anime? So they even fit the entire theme of this list: Valentines Day!

Number 6: Soul x Maka (Soul Eater)

This one is for you Sano cuz I know you like these two and honestly I think they're quite adorable as well. Its another one of those adorable 'best/childhood friend couple' scenarios that I love. And obviously given their resonance abilities they work damn good together. How could you possibly connect your soul to somebody that you're not emotionally connected to? Maybe thats why all the weapon/Meister pairs are opposite genders...ok while my mind runs away with that lets get back to the rant. Though seriously, they live together, how can there not be anything between them? Especially since they're shown to have obvious feelings for each other, especially Maka.
Number 5: Kakeru x Yuka (11Eyes)

Boy I'm just full of controversy and defying popular opinion tonight aren't I? Well who cares? I like Yuka and Kakeru better because they're childhood friends, Yuka is adorable and Misuzu is a hoe-bag (read my very first post). Yuka wants nothing more than to simply be loved by Kakeru and have her feelings returned and she constantly gets stepped on at every turn, poor Yuka. They're so adorable together and, maybe this is just me, but it's obvious that Kakeru cares a lot for her but is simply too busy either saving her, being raped by Misuzu or being shy to tell her. I can't even tell you how badly I wanted them to get together by the end of the series. Plus I have a soft spot for those 'childhood friend' relationships in anime, its so cute and these two would make such a great couple. Though for anyone who's read Nisioisin's Zaregoto series these two sort of remind me of Ii-chan and Kunagisa...whom I also want desperately to get together.

Number 4: Light x Misa (Death Note)
Despite what many people may think (again with the controversy) I honestly believe that Light genuinely cares about Misa, even though he claims just to use her, I really don't think that's the entire truth. They're cute together in a way...though thats probably mostly because of Misa trying to be adorable, so maybe I should say they have more of a romance rather than cuteness, which stands to reason given that they're a bit older than a lot of the other couples on this list. I honestly think Light simply denies loving her just because 1 thats how he is and 2 he figures that would show a weakness of his then. Really, if he didn't love her he woulda let her die long ago. In any event though, again, they live together, sleep together, have been together for years I don't think Light would be able to put up with that if he didn't love her, plus he's not that much of a man-whore. And that picture is just completely sweet, I loved that scene.

Number 3: Ed x Winry (FullMetal Alchemist)
More childhood friends. Are we seeing a pattern here or what? I think these two are probably among the more realistic ones in the way that while they have some truly adorable couple moments, they do fight at times too, they're not all sunshine and lollipops all the time. But in the end they do really care about eachother despite poking fun at each others hobbies/occupations from time to time. And again they're just one of those couples that you know really should be a couple but they're not officially...though then again I think if they were Winry would have even more fits about him traveling (I know that feeling) and all the Ed fangirls (Sandii) would be pissed. So in order to pacify the fangirls, lets just keep them this way and say how much they should be a couple and how adorable they are.

Number 2: Renji x Rukia (Bleach)

One more childhood friend couple for ya! And controversial to boot! I get double points with this one! Anyway though, there are certain points when I really feel so bad for Renji because I like this couple so much...like the entire Rescue Rukia Arc for one. But ever since I saw their flasback of them as kids in the Rukon District, from then on I thought they were the most adorable Bleach couple because of their long history and how much they really care about eachother. Rukia also generally treats Renji with more respect where as she constantly lectures Ichigo as if he's a child. Though several times in the series it seems like he just wants to grab Rukia, pick her up, kiss her and finally proclaim his love to her...and that would be amazing and totally should happen aside from the fact that it's a Shounen anime. Plus I can picture Renji being super romantic and sweet and caring yet passionate with her, so that just makes them even better.

Number 1: Inuyasha x Kagome (InuYasha)

Anybody who knows me could probably guess this was going to be it as these two are hands down my favorite couple in anime, not even so much because of the characters themselves but because I have a personal soft spot for them because of my boyfriend and I. But these two are so strong together and when something is major they are tolerant of each other's feelings...though extremely intolerant with minor things, go figure. I remember getting so upset watching InuYasha whenever Kikyo would come back and Inuyasha would be a complete dickhole and want to be with her again, but I could never get enough of the super sweet Inuyasha x Kagome moments throughout the show. And for anybody who knows the ending of the manga or second anime series that's just even better. So with that Inuyasha and Kagome are my #1 anime couple. Boooo to Inuyasha x Kikyo and most definitely Inuyasha x Sesshomaru (and all yaoi for that matter)!

Anime And Manga Has To Be From Japan (Rant)

Before I start going off on this topic that really gets my goat sometimes I feel the need to point out that in no way am I saying Americans can't become manga artists or create anime. They most definitely can (yes Nii-san that means you), but the purpose of this post is simply to say that it must be from (like published in) Japan. To anyone planning to go into the anime/manga industry please do not get discouraged by this, I have no problems with it, in fact somebody very close to me is going to become a manga artist, so by no means am I discouraging anybody ok? Ok, now lets get started.

My whole reason to make this post is because I find it dumb how people seem to consider things like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Code Lyoko, Invader Zim or W.I.T.C.H to be anime. THEY ARE NOT. I'm not disputing the quality of these shows at all, personally W.I.T.C.H is among my favorite shows, the art style is very similar to that of anime, but it's Italian, not Japanese. There is a Japanese language version (I think), but it was not created in Japan and is therefore not anime. W.I.T.C.H came from a comic, however the comic is not manga because despite the similar art style, it was not created in Japan so it is not anime. Though for now I'm going to get off the topic of W.I.T.C.H specifically because it's a tad confusing and I'll come back to it later.

Probably the most common misconception of this kind is that of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It was based off the anime style of art and story format (continuous, unlike most American shows which are episodic)
however it's creators even said that they simply used anime for inspiration, it's not actually anime because it was created...I forget if it was here or Korea, but it's not Japan.

I'm well aware that some people classify anime based on the art style, and I suppose that makes sense in it's own right, but anime is a Japanese word used to refer to Japanese animation. And yes I'm well aware that 'anime' simply translates to 'animation' and is not country specific, however when referring to animation from other countries, in normal spoken Japanese other cultures cartoons are referred to with that country. For example, Avatar would be referred to as "Amerika no anime" (translates to America's animation) rather than simply anime.

By this point I'm probably already rubbing many people the wrong way with this post, but first off nobody is forcing you to read this. Also please keep in mind the title of my blog, it's my opinion, it just so happens that this opinion is shared by many others and is fodder for much debate in the anime subculture.

Lets move on to manga now shall we? It's always been beyond me as to why some manga websites will host manwha as well (Korean version of manga for those who don't know) when they call themselves manga websites. Because like anime, manga is something only from Japan. Now that's not to say Americans or any other ethnicity or people can't draw manga as a profession, they most definitely can. But in order to truly be considered manga it would have to be published in Japan, in Japanese, but to call a comic published in America manga is just...eeehhhh not so much. It could still be completely awesome like what I said about Avatar and W.I.T.C.H, but not traditional manga. Obviously you don't need to be Japanese, honestly who cares? Just as long as the manga itself is Japanese (originating/published in Japan) it's still manga. For an awesome example of somebody who definitely could pull this off in the future click here.

Now finally back to W.I.T.C.H like I was talking about before. There are...I want to say 4 versions of W.I.T.C.H, the original Italian comic (not manga, despite the art, because it's Italian), the American Novels based off the comic, the American TV show...or is it Italian?...I forget. Based off the Italian comic which was aired on Jetix. However throwing a wrench into the mix, is the lesser known manga form of this series, which is in fact created in Japan. But as far as I know, other shows/comics that are commonly mistaken for anime/manga don't have any such tie, however if they do I'd be interested to find out.

I guess my whole reason for this post isn't even to persuade anybody of anything honestly, it's just because I get sort of annoyed when people insist that Avatar and Invader Zim and such are anime, which they are not. No demerit to them of course, they're good in their own rights. Again, not to discourage anyone and not to step on anyones toes of you just so happen to be one of the people that insists that Avatar is anime, but it's really not. And quite honestly it disgusts me when I see it on an anime website. Opinions on this anyone? Agree? Disagree? Heh, I hope I don't lose any readers cuz of this post, but this is just MY OPINION as per usual. Also, look foreward to a special Valentines Day related post in the coming week or so. First Impressions: Winter 2010/2011 Anime I've Tried

Well this will be my 20th post, that feels kind of nice actually, I've also learned a bit of HTML so now I can make this look more organized. And before we get started just a few things of mention: Thank you Megan and Steve who commented on my last post. And also, as you may have noticed I haven't done a rant in a while, but thats because lately nothing has pissed me off in anime enough, so if anybody would like to give suggestions for something they'd like to see me verbally bash in a rant feel free. I was thinking of a rant on Assassin's Creed 2 but 2 problems with that, its a videogame not an anime...though usually people who like one like the other and also, in the last few days that game has grown on me quite a bit. Not to the level of awesomeness that the first one was, but its good none the less. So if anybody has something they'd like seeing me rant about or for my real-life friends has seen me rant about, feel free to post ideas. Anywho, I'll shut up about random things now and get on with the real purpose of this post, the mediocre selection of anime that is the current season. I must say this season has some unexpectedly good ones, but it's still probably my least favorite season since last spring. However this coming spring looks very promising.

Fractale

Ok this one honestly creeped me out a lot, I was slightly turned off before I even saw it by the
boys western style of dress, however it seemed like it could be a semi-substantial mystery so I decided to check it out. What I found was completely different from my expectations. First off there were robot parents, majorly detrimental in my book cuz I'm not a robot or sci-fi person 96% of the time. However I decided to ignore the creepy robot parents (though I do wonder why they were robots parenting a human O.o) and kept watching...it was one of the lowest levels of boring that I've ever seen, quite honestly this one isn't even good to make fun of it's so boring...until a bit later...then it gets good to make fun of. Why? Because the boy goes to a market-looking place and there's these strange creatures there that looked like they came out of either a circus or a childs drawing pad. They were nothing short of absolute ridiculousness. Like here's a picture of what I'm talking about because I can't even describe it. They look completely stupid
right? And seriously those aren't toys in the market, they're super fucked-up living things that talk and walk like people and that giant turd thing seems to be the boys friend or something...and that stretches and like damn near rapes him (not literally) at one point. It's insanely creepy.

I really can't think of anything more to say since I stopped watching at about this point...a minute or so later maybe, just because it creeped me out and it's waaaaaaaaayyyy too sci-fi for my tastes. Oh! that and the art looks annoyingly flat, like that of Spirited Away.

Gosick

As expected this one was marginally better than Fractale however not good enough for me to
continue watching. I love the mystery aspect of it, because I'm a huge fan of episodic mysteries and this fit the bill. I really do almost regret not continuing it, but the first and second episodes both made me almost fall asleep. The reason being is no error in the anime itself, it's just simply because I don't like Victorian or Renaissance Europe, it bores me a lot. Though for mystery-lovers who don't mind that setting I'd recommend it.

Apart from that my only major complaint is the sheer boring and dry "personallity" (if you could call it that) of Victorique, the blonde lolita girl in the picture. She was monotoned all the time and just very boring to listen to. That and she smokes a pipe! I mean I get the whole Sherlock Holmes reference but isn't having a little girl smoking a pipe a little weird? O.o That and with the weirdness, the boy in the picture, whose name escapes me, reminds me quite a lot of Lelouch of Code Geass just done in a less anorexic art style. That being said the art, as you can see, is beautiful, there's almost nothing bad I can say about that respect except for the drab colors, though I suppose that's just part of the setting.

Yumekui Merry

Thankfully this one lived up to my expectations, not getting bogged down by a dream

about a war with cats which is honestly just creepy and strange... then again it's anime. Anyway though this focuses more on Merry who is a Dream Demon, trying to hitch a ride with other evil Dream Demons back to the dream world.

Merry herself is a solid lead character with a lot of personality along with the male lead...damn I really need to remember his name. Plus the male lead has this sort of fortune telling power that lets him see what kind of dreams people will have that night based on an aura. See there's a picture of him in that war with cats
dream, and thankfully that's really the only time it ever comes up. The way they did it was actually rather humorous, I mean c'mon, the cat has a huge gun for cryin' out loud! Where else but in anime can you see something like that? It's actually in this dream that he meets Merry I believe...well I think he meets her before but she's unconcious.

My only real complaint so far is it's a tad difficult to follow exactly what's going on because of Merry's constant mood-swings (despite her kick-ass attitude and outfit) and that as of yet there's no set villain or anything. A series like this really does need a villain besides various evil Dream Demons (which are essentially the dudes that come into your nightmares. Like this guy for one: Chaser John Doe. He looks like he could be
a pretty substantial villain, but so far he's only been in the first episode. Maybe it's not even so much a villain that it needs but just more of a concrete plot rather than just meeting random people with Dream Demon problems. Though it is entertaining and does have some pretty good potential to evolve a really good plot. I'll be finishing this one all the way through, it's not good enough to be best in the season, but it is pretty enjoyable.

Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka?

For those of you not well versed in the Japanese language, the translation of the title is 'Is this a Zombie?'. Now, this one is probably one of the best, if not the best anime of this season thus far, yes there's a bit of ecchi, but not to the point where it's extremely obnoxious...except for this one scene when the magical girl (with a chainsaw) flys down from the sky with her panties being the only thing you can see for a good 5 seconds. Other than the bit of ecchi though it is in fact really good.

There's a great array of characters and it definitely gets points for originality, I mean c'mon, a necromancer (the knight-ish girl) and a zombie in the same series are obvious, but they took that and threw in a Magical Girl and a Vampire Ninja and...some mage looking ramen girl who hasn't appeared yet.

Now before I get ahead of myself and confuse people who know that I usually hate zombies (really, freakin EVERYTHING just has to have zombies in it these days) the zombie in this anime, really has no typical zombie qualities except for the fact that he's already dead and can't die again. He's not some creepy mindless weirdo thing (reminiscent of me at 6am) that most zombies are. He also is the only character so far that gives the anime some sort of underlying plot, which is actually
pretty neat. Because it turns out that he was originally killed by a serial killer and he wanted to be resurrected in order to exact revenge. He's alsoa pretty cool character on his own...damn for whatever reason I can't remember guy names this season O.o

But see what I mean by how he's normal other than the fact that he can't die? That picture is the best representation I can give, but he's just not your typical zombie. In fact this anime takes pretty-much everything I usually hate and twists it to make it cool. I hate vampires but the vampire is also a ninja so she's cool, I'm often not a huge fan of Magical Girls, but this one is kick-ass and has a chainsaw! Speaking of twisting things actually, notice that evil thing is a bear, the villains are freakish. I mean look, the next one they encounter is a lobster! So evil bears in a graveyard and evil lobsters in a school, because that makes sense

Blaaarrghhh attack of the killer lobster!

right? I mean everyone's school has a giant evil lobster. Imagine the yummy dinner you can make out of that O.O *drools*.

But yeah I'll definitely continue watching this as it is probably one of the most fucked-up and original anime I can think of at the moment and it's got really solid characters. Zombie boy and Eucliwood Hellscythe (the necromancer girl) being my favorites. So just as long as the ecchi doesn't kick up it should be a great watch that I'd highly recommended if you're up for something new.

Dragon Crisis:

I couldn't even watch the second episode of this one. This series definitely wasn't good by any means, however it's not particularly terrible either, it was because of truly annoying characters that I found the show to be so unbearable to watch. The top-heavy chick in the tank top is quite possibly one of the most obnoxious characters I've ever had the misfortune to encounter. Not only that but she's a complete bitch who was one of the main reasons I was turned off from this show.

Rose the blonde dragon girl is super-kawaii on many levels however she has the Pikachu syndrome of being able to say nothing other than her name. Oh! And she can say Ryuuji, the name of the horrifically dry and boring male protagonist.

All that on top of the fact that the show took way more of a treasure hunter take rather than the dragon aspect that made me really want to see it. I mean honestly, if I told you that blonde girl is a dragon would you believe me? I sure wouldn't. I am curious to see how it would progress, but the characters annoyed me far too much to subject myself to more of this.

IS:Infinite Stratos:

These are quite possibly the coolest mechas I have ever seen...not like I watch a whole lot of mecha anime in the first place but still. This was probably the anime I was most looking foreword to this season and to be honest it was a little bit of a letdown, it's still good enough to watch, but it gets a little too hung up on the harem aspect rather than the awesome mechas.

On that note however, the fight scenes are really awesome, even if they do have a strange amount of talking in them. Seriously, they're however many hundred feet in the sky just shooting the breeze (quite literally at points) with their opponent, don't quite understand that. As per usual I could do without the ecchi and the whole 'guy does something non-perverted, girl thinks its perverted somehow, girl has bitch-fit, guy gets ass beat for no reason' it really is quite obnoxious and overused. It bothered me to no end in Asu no Yoichi and it bothers me quite a lot here.

The Harem aspect isn't particularly terrible, it could be worse. It gets annoying at points as it usually does, especially since this far 2 of the girls are really pushy and annoying, even towards him, not just with each other, and then despite that picture to the right, she's fairly level headed and not creepy about her crush on Ichika. Though on the other hand most of the ecchi shots to date are of her, its easy enough to ignore however. So this is one I'll keep watching, it has enough good points to be throughly entertaining and to block out the bad points. If you like mechas at all I'd recommend giving this one a try.

Starry Sky

So. Many. Bishies. It nearly made me puke, usually I don't have that much of a problem with them either, but this was just purely puke worthy.

First of all each episode was only about 12min long, I'm not a big fan of short episodes. Second of all, one of the characters was French or something, which annoyed me to no end. And third, the zodiac representation here was more of the constellations rather than the animals like I was hoping. I mean there was so much talk about stars and constellations that I felt like I was in an astronomy class. I couldn't even finish the second episode because it was so mellow and boring and blech. It had the same feel of being in an art gallery actually. All the snooty French-ish artsy people, the mellow atmosphere,the music, it just made it so unbearably boring.

Haiyoru!

I'll just put this one bluntly: the animation sucks and the 4min episodes suck. This looks like some fan-made crap done in Flash, and yes that picture to the left is actually from the anime, it's ridiculous. The animation and the art are both retarded. The first episode of 4min consisted pretty-much mainly of this scene right here, though I forget exactly where the hot dog came in but that's irrelevant. What is relevant is I couldn't even sit through 4min of this crap, that's how bad it was. Honestly I couldn't even get the story because...well who could get a story in 4min of Flash animation? But to be honest I don't care, the animation is just so terrible that even if the story was the best thing since Death Note, 11Eyes or Fairy Tail I still wouldn't want to watch this.

Beelzebub

This almost had me wanting to keep watching, despite Beels creepy baby penis hanging out all the time and Ogas purely stupid parents simply because the main characters were pretty solid but the way the show was carried out was just really quite annoying. This anime is a kid on sugar because there's random shit happening all the time with no rhyme or reason whatsoever but not in a funny way either, in more of an obnoxious "what's going on?" way and their attempts at humor I don't really find funny. I cant exactly pinpoint what it was that turned me off from this anime, but there's something about it that made me horrifically bored to the point where I couldn't even finish the second episode. If I had to really pick something it'd probably b the whole delinquent theme that just really annoyed me, not exactly my cup of tea.

Maho Shoujo Madoka Magica

This is another one that has amazing potential to be my absolute favorite anime of the season, which is interesting considering I don't usually like Magical Girl anime. However this is the farthest thing ever from your typical Magical Girl anime, first of all it's very dark, I know that picture doesn't exactly prove it but it really is actually. A main character dies in the 3rd episode already O.o And one of the character's magic is to use guns and another uses a sword. Oh! That's another thing, these Magical Girls don't just go around being all happy and casting pink spells all the time, they have to fight witches that are out to kill people in strangely brutal ways. Even one of the Magical Girls, Mami-san (the yellow one) says how being a Magical Girl is hard work and that you risk your life every day to do it and save people from the witches. As hard as it is to believe for a Magical Girl series this really is pretty dark and has a healthy amount of action to it.

On that topic of dark, lets talk about the art shall we? The normal art that's shown through most of the anime is good, simple, but good, something you'd expect from a Magical Girl anime. However the witch realms (see picture on the right) are a whole nother story. I would really love to know what the hell the art staff was smoking when they drew this stuff cuz it gives the the heeby-jeebies. Some of it looks just downright creepy like you see here, and some of it looks like the artist was doing LSD at the time of making this, that's just how bizarre it is. This goes beyond the point of originallity and abstract, it looks like something by Salvador Dali. If I'm not mistaken those fucked-up looking things are supposed to be the witches. Now there's originality, which is what Soul Eater did with witches, but this is just strange on so many levels. It doesn't make the anime any less enjoyable, but it does make you question the sanity of the artists especially when they also drew something as purely adorable

as Kyuubei (that little white creature thing). I mean c'mon, that's adorable, it even rivals Mokona of various CLAMP works.

In any event though, even if those surreal witch realms creep you out, I'd highly recommend trying this anime because it's very original in the way of Magical Girls and it has something for two polar opposite fangroups. Shoujo/Magical Girl fans, as well as fans of combat and slightly darker anime such as myself. It actually reminds me of Soul Eater for some really strange reason that I can't put my finger on.

And that's it...well, sorta, I still have yet to watch Houkago no Pleiades since it starts tomorrow I believe, really curious about that one to see why Subaru has their hand in making an anime. Top 10 List: Element-Users

Ever since I was a little kid I've always liked elemental powers for whatever reason, so I figured I should do a Top 10 List of my favorite characters in anime that use them. For the purposes of this list I'm considering elements Water/Ice, Fire, Earth, Air and Electricity. No Darkness, Light or Gravity, no particular reason, I just don't consider gravity an element and there aren't many characters that I like very much that uses Darkness or Light plus they're just not really elements in my mind. Not much else to say so let's get right into it.

Number 10: Gaara (Naruto)

I can't say I particularly like Gaara as a character...actually he quite annoys me as a character because, especially in part 1, he's an emo cry-baby and it pisses me off. However, for the purposes of this list, he's cool.

He's one of the only characters I can think of besides Gajeel of Fairy Tail that uses the earth element, and unlike Gajeel, Gaara

uses it in its natural true form. That and

he's completely beast with it, no pun intended.

Not only can he crush a human body using his sand with little to no effort, he can turn into a sand beast, the One-Tailed Shukaku, to be even stronger with his sand. Hell, he did enough damage to Lee, the master of determination, that he was put out of comm

ission for most of part one (not counting fillers), and for Gaara that was like an every day task of swatting a fly, it was nothing.

That and his sand is in essence alive, I can't say that of many of the other elemental users...sept for maybe any of the Bleach characters that have elemental Zanpaku-to. Gaara freaking talks to his sand ok?! Sure it's a little weird...ok a lot weird, but it makes him strong as hell so who cares? Essentially Gaara gets this spot for originallity.

Number 9: Takahisa Tajima (11Eyes)

I seem to be using 11Eyes a lot, just goes to show how

awesome that anime is. Anyway though, Takahisa is not only a bad-ass fire-user, but he's got a decent amount of personality is developed pretty well for a semi-minor character. Fire-users are generally stereotyped as either evil or dickish, and he's not really either. A tad standoffish at times and overconfident but he genuinely cares for those around him, surprisingly. That and he actually has a backstory which is always cool for characters.

I must say I wonder something though, what is the legal age to smoke in Japan? Cuz he definitely looks too young to be smoking. Maybe it's a strange attempt at a pun, given his ability. (Insert corny fake laugh here)

Quite honestly I don't know what else to say about him, especially without being repetetive of my last list with him in it. What to say what to say....no idea, may as well just go on to the next person and hope I can think of a decent rant about them. And might I just point out that his picture has decided to delete itself 4 times along with some of the text, very annoying.

Number 8: Juvia Loxar (Fairy Tail)

Quite honestly I hated Juvia when she first

appeared in the anime cuz she looked and acted

so freaking depressing. It was always "Shin Shin To" (Drip Drip Drop) in this monotoned voice with a straight face, surrounded by rain and in this

strangely depressing looking outfit that I cant really

explain. She also spoke in 3rd person which she thankfully grew out of a little. Ever since she changed her outfit, joined Fairy Tail and became happier, she's not so bad.

Her power is water, her body is made of water, she can control water, make water and make it downpour. I must say she gave me a new appreciation for water elementalists, never really

thought they were particularly powerful before her. She also has this really strange fetish (and I mean fetish) for Gray and it's kind of creepy, but humorous at the same time. And is it just me or

does that picture of her look pretty freakish?

Number 7: Rei Oogami (Code:Breaker)

A cookie to whoever knows who this guy is, and if not, you might wanna read on cuz he's pretty bad-ass.

So he can create a blue flame from his hand and this blue flame is the most epic blue flame ever because it can burn anything except the obnoxious female lead, damn it lol, and not only

does it completely burn it, but it doesn't leave any sort of evidence, no ash, no charring, nothing.

Not only that, but he uses this power in a Death Note-esq fashion, to kill all the worlds criminals or those he judges to be evil...or the Code:Breaker organization sees as evil. Thus effectively getting rid of a lot of evil in the world. It's essentially a Death Note in fire form, and since nobody sees and there's no evidence, it's impossible for Oogami to be caught by the law, unlike Light. Though he does meet resistance from the annoying female lead who thinks you can make criminals good by simply giving them a hug, yeah right, unless you wanna get stabbed through the heart while hugging them 'Oh this man is a serial killer who cuts up living people, Oogami you don't have to kill him I'll hug him and make it all better' no, just no, that's ridiculous. Blue Flame>Hug in this situation.

Number 6: Kaito Himuro (Psycho Busters)

I seem to be using a lot of fire-users huh? And I think there's still like 2 more after him. But anyway, Kaito's power is Pyrokinesis, meaning he has the power to create and control fire, as if that's not obvious enough.

I actually just finished reading Psycho Busters today and I must say it was very good, and Kaito's character gets developed a lot towards the end. At first he's the stereotypical 'tough guy' trying to act all cool and like he can take on anything, and he does a pretty good job of it, but later on it's revealed that he had a little sister whose

death he feels very guilty about because he couldn't protect her like he promised and he really cares about her. For anybody who knows me I have a soft-spot for characters with that kind of relationship, it's sweet and adorable and very special. Not only his little sister either, but he grows to truly care about his friends and goes against anyone who talks shit about them.

I know it sounds like I'm describing Ichigo or somebody else cliche, but Kaito does all this in such a way that it doesn't seem cliche because right up to the end he still keeps a bit of that 'tough guy' attitude to keep him original. I only wish he got a few more chances to use his awesome fire-power, he really doesn't get enough good fight scenes throughout the series.

Number 5: Daichi (Blazer Drive)

Huh, third manga-only character in a row, go figure. Anyw

ay, for those of you who aren't familiar with Blazer Drive it's by the twin brother of the creator of Naruto, Seishi Kishimoto (hence the similar art) and see that thing on Daichi's arm? Thats a mysticker, which are stickers that create any effect from elements (ie. fire intended to heat water) to summoning, to weapons to complete body transformation. Blazers such as

Daichi are a select few who can put mystickers on their arms and use their powers.

That mysticker you see on Daichi is Kandachi, and it gives him an immense power of Lightning. It's crazy strong, sadly I couldn't find a picture of him using it, but it releases lightning that fills up an entire huge room or any large space frying anything it hits. However since it's hard to control, Daichi [surprisingly] does the smart thing and uses Tamamayu (another mysticker giving him a massive clawed glove with tons of wire) to direct the flow of electricity to what he wants, which also makes it near impossible to get away from which is awesome. As a character I can't say I like him very much but his power is off the charts cool as far as electricity goes, he beat out the human rail-gun Mikoto Misaka of A Certain Scientific Railgun here as well.

Number 4: Roy Mustang (FullMetal Alchemist)

Yet another fire-user, but seriously, I'm not a pyromaniac I swear! Lol it just so happens that fire-users are most common in anime and they're generally cool characters.

Sure Mustang can be a bit of a pervert at times, but not a lecher like say Jiraiyah, so he's not that bad. Plus Mustang is absolutely hillarious, referring especially to his miniskirt and "I Love Dogs" speeches. That and his constant picking on Ed was pretty humorous, however he does have a serious side.

He has a definite goal, a noble goal and will stop at nothing to get it. I personally think he'd make a good Fuhrer. Back to his power though, it's not so much that he has the power of fire, it's simply that he can use Alchemy that allows him to create fire, either way it still counts him as an element-user. Plus you find me another character that can create instant flame with the snap of a finger, literally. Though he doesn't seem to understand that he's useless in the rain.

Side story: I actually made myself a pair of his gloves one time, but my mom washed them and they shrunk to the size of baby gloves and became completely unstretchable O.o

Number 3: Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)

Huh, never knew I could do animated GIF files here, go figure O.o thats a first. Anyway I had a really hard time with this one trying to decide weather or not to put him higher on the list. Not only cuz he's my favorite Naruto character (until later Shippuuden when he

becomes an ass, then I like Kakashi) but because he's a dual element user, the only one on this list. He can use both fire and electricity. Sadly though this is really as high on the list as I can justify placing him...hell I'm probably gonna get a lot of hate for putting him this high but oh well, hence the picture is from part 1 when he's still awesome. Strangely, I dunno much else to say about Sasuke though other than that he's a ninja, IMO he's still not bad looking, he can use 2 elements, he's awesome and kick-ass and...yeah the last two kind of sum it up.

Number 2: Kazuma Yagami (Kaze no Stigma)

Yaaaay! Finally a wind-user and a damn good one at that. Basically it was between him and Rumina of Tokyo Underground if I wanted a wind user and Kazuma is a bajillion times better. He has a contract with wind spirits for crying out loud! You don't get much more awesome than that!

Not only because of his awesome power, but quite honestly I really like him as a character, his love story with Ayano is adorable (aren't they cousins though? O.o) and later on in the series his past comes back to haunt him which gives a nice tie up. I also have a lot of pity for him since his girlfriend Tsui Ling was killed right in front of him. And at the same time I give him credit because that experience is what made him want to become a contractor (super-powerful element user) in the first place, because he saw himself as too weak to protect Tsui Ling.

This coupled with the fact that he's pretty-much fearless, facing his own father at one point and winning, despite major odds against him is just completely awesome. And ever since I was younger, I've always liked wind-users for whatever reason.

Number 1: Gray Fullbuster (Fairy Tail)

One of the few Ice-users in anime besides Lyon and Ul also of Fairy Tail and Toshiro of Bleach, Gray is most definitely my favorite element user in originality, his power, and especially his character.

IMO best character in Fairy Tail, he cares for his friends, is an amazing fighter and gets really fired up (go figure) but at the same time he's a great comic relief, constantly stripping for no real reason other than force of habbit. While he goofs off a lot of the time along with most of the members of Fairy Tail, when he gets serious his fights are absolutely amazing. Especially the one with Lyon on the island to stop Lyon from resurrecting a super-powerful demon, Deliora, who killed their teacher essentially.

He's also your stereotypical shounen style rival (like Sasuke or Renji) but with something about him that keeps him original, I can't quite place my finger on it though. Anywho, his Ice power is amazing, he can create pretty-much anything out of Ice, most commonly spears and unlike his fellow Ice Wizard Lyon, he actually takes the time to use both of his hands and do it right instead of being a lazy, power-hungry freak. Between him and Lyon he's also much more level-headed of the two.

In short, the Number One Elemental user in anime is by far, Gray Fullbuster, if you disagree, fine, no flaming, simply leave a comment. With that I'll shut up about how awesome Gray is and leave you with a picture and some closing commentary.

Pre-Viewing Impressions: Winter 2010/2011 Anime

Alrighty then, I know this post seems a little late given that one show starts in under a week, but there's a method to my madness, last season anime were added and removed from the lineup last minute thus making my post kind of inaccurate, so now the lineup should be pretty final. Also I've decided to improve this type of post a little: 1. I'm going to post the dates or at least rough dates that each anime will start, 2. I'm going to give you a link to the full chart with brief summaries of things that aren't on this list because they don't interest me. Honestly there's many for this season that seem good enough to enjoy, but nothing throughly "OMG THIS IS AWESOME!!!" worthy. So without further a due, lets get started cuz this'll probably be pretty long.

Haiyoru!: Airs December 11th

Basically this is about a shape-shifting demon who prefers to take the form of the ordinary silver-haired girl (how exactly is that ordinary? O.o) you see in that picture. Apparently the main protagonist is in trouble so she decides to save him. There really isn't much info beyond that. Personally I just wanna try this one out because I like the demon aspect of it, very rarely can you go wrong with an anime about demons...except for Disgaea, that was just a horrific steaming pile of shit. ANYWAY though XD Unlike Disgaea I don't think this one will suck, Disgaea was just one in a million. That and this anime seems to have the potential to turn into a cute, InuYasha-Esq romance, either that or it can turn out something like Bleach in the way that it's an ordinary male protagonist getting his ass saved by a not-so-ordinary female protagonist. Either way though, this doesn't seem bad, I think I'll at least give it it's fair shot.

Though I feel the need to point out the octopus in that girls hair, it sort of makes me wonder honestly O.o That's just a little strange. I mean is that some sort of new trend? Putting aquatic creatures in your hair? Or is it just in case she gets hungry?

Starry Sky: Airs December 23rd, Advanced Broadcast of eps 1-2 on December 11th

For anyone who recalls, this was in

my Fall 2010 list, this

was one of the ones

that was taken

from the lineup. Anyway, this is essentially a reverse harem very similar to that of Fruits Basket. The main female protagonist transfers to a new school that was, up until recently, an all-boys school. There she meets these 12 guys who are all the embodiment of their respective zodiac animal.

I can't exactly explain why I want to watch this, maybe because of the similarity to Fruits Basket which, while it was annoying at times, was very cute and pleasing to watch. Hoping this one will be just as cute, but minus the terribly annoying cry-baby for a female lead.

Beelzebub: Airs January 9th
Based on a Shounen Jump manga of the same name. This follows the story of the strongest delinquent at a delinquent school who sees a man floating downriver and decides to save him however once he's done so the man turns into an infant demon, son of the demon king or something. And so the kid has to raise this baby along with the baby's demon nanny Hilda.

Is Hilda just a stereotypical nanny name or what? That's just really strange. What else is strange is the fact that they drew strange-looking genitals on the baby O.o Not only is it strange to show a penis in anime, but it's strangely disproportionate, I mean it's balls are huge compared to the teeny penis.

Baby genitals aside though, personally there's nothing that seems particularly entertaining about this anime, but I'm trying it on a whim given that it has demons and it's from Shonen Jump, there's only a handful of Shonen Jump anime I really don't like. No matter how unappealing the story seems, Shonen Jump anime are just usually very good. Plus the girl holding the wooden bouken looks pretty cool and I'm always one for a good sword battle, especially if the combatants are girls without ecchi shots.

Dragon Crisis: Airs January 11th

These two kids steal a relic box from something called a 'black broker' and inside the box they find a dragon girl. Of course nothing is that simple, there are relic hunters of sorts, called the 'black organization', looking to capture the dragon girl so the male lead decides to use his relic protector powers to save her.

Seems interesting enough, though I've figured out that I'm much more open about trying new releases than stuff thats been out for a while...probably because my want to watch list is hovering around 100+. Anyway though, I may as well check this one out, I'm a fan of dragons in anime (though there's few good ones) and I'm a fan of fighting...though I do need to point out that the guy in the picture looks terribly weak. In fact he looks like someone who could potentially belong on my 'Pansy Male Leads' post, along with some others that I neglected to mention. I have a pretty good feeling about this one, plus, I'm seeing the potential for a really cute romance to develop here (Dragon/Human babies anyone? O.o).

Yumekui Merry: Airs January

With all the summaries I'm able to find I'm only able to find that this boy noticed he could see colored auras around people, then he started to have a weird dream about a war with cats, suddenly a strange girl falls on top of him. What annoys me about this is that a few months ago when this was originally announced, I was able to find a much cooler summary involving eating dreams and fighting bad spirits and nightmares and whatnot. Thats what made me wanna try it, I'm still going to on the hope that summary was true, because the whole war with cats bit just sounds strange O.o

Though that moon in the picture reminds me of a cross between the Soul Eater sun, and Taokaka of BlazBlue. That and I really like Merry's character design, it's pretty cool. Dunno what else to really say about this one cuz of the wole summary fiasco, but I just hope it's as cool as the old summary and picture make it look. The picture is really reminding me of Soul Eater for some reason...Soul Eater...Dream Eater...I wonder if there'll be similarities.

Fractale: Airs January 14th

On an island civilization the 'Fractale System' is crumbling. One day, somebody named Crane finds a girl named Phyrene, who disapears and leaves a pendant. Crane then teams up with another girl to find Phyrene and unravel the mystery of the 'Fractale System'.

One word there that makes me want to see this: mystery...or secret, depending on which summary you read, but either way it usually leads to a pretty decent series. Seems almost like Samurai Champloo though (God I hope not). Honestly I think this is the closest this season is gonna get to a mystery, so I hope it turns out good.

Gosick: Airs January 8th, Advanced Screening on December 27th

Ok never mind what I said about Fractale being the closest thing to a mystery this season. Taking place in a Victorian European country at an academy, horror stories and urban legends are all the rage. And at this academy there is one mysterious girl who rarely attends classes because she's either reading every book in the library or solving mysteries that even the best detectives can't crack.

As much as I absolutely loathe Victorian England-like settings...though her dress looks more of the Gothic age...whatever. Anyway, despite hating the setting I'm pretty eager to try this one out given that it's a mystery, probably my favorite genre of anime (besides Shounen) and books. Now if only they'd make a murder mystery anime involving a forensic pathologist. Anyway though, this seems pretty interesting, I love mysteries and it's pretty cool when child-prodigies are the ones solving them...despite that most child prodigies in anime are dicks and this chick doesn't look like she'll break that mold, but here's to hoping.

IS: Infinite Stratos: Airs January 7th

Despite being a mecha with potential ecchi, I'm in fact surprisingly excited for this one, probably tthe most excited out of the entire season. This is about a female dominated society (Yeah! Girl Power! XD) and this mecha-like battle armor called 'Infinite Stratos' can only be operated by women, however the main male lead is the only male ever to be able to operate one so he's basically forced to. Ya know what, in stead of talking about it I'll link you guys the trailer because that's what made me want to watch it with the flawless action and epic mecha fights!

Like I said the mecha fights seem great, the character designs are cool, there seems to be a touch of ecchi but nothing too horrific, and having females dominant in society is something new for an anime, actually girl power in general is something new for an anime. Really looking forward to this one, especially since it's rare that I like mechas, so hopefully this will break that trend like Code Geass did. Only thing I'm really sorta worried about is ecchi, this just seems like a show that would be really easy to mess up with all the damn ecchi.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka: Airs January 11th

A kid is killed by a serial killer, then is resurrected as a zombie by a Necromancer who he then works for. However by doing this he somehow deprives a magical girl if her power, so he has to fight this magic organization in her place.

I must say I was skeptical when I saw the word zombie, because that usually implies stupid horror crap, however obviously by the picture, that is not the case here. In fact I like the character designs and it seems like a pretty good fantasy. That and ever since playing Wizard 101 for a time, I've taken a liking to Necromancers (death wizards, for those of you who don't know) and I gotta say, it's an interesting twist to lump a magical girl and a Necromancer together. Especially given that the one I'm assuming to be the magical girl, has a chainsaw O.o Now that's original. Actually talking about this one is making me pretty-damn excited to watch it, my only worry, as with Infinite Stratos is that it can easily turn itself into an ecchi, I mean just look at the black-haired girl. And actually the trailer seems super-awesome too, I've actually got pretty high hopes for this one.

Puella Magi: Airs January 7th

Honestly I have no idea what the heck this anime is about, other than magical girls, which is funny, because that's not something I generally like. I also don't generally like anything so cutesy, however I'm actually looking forward to this one depending on what they do with the actual plot.

Now, why I'm looking forward to this actually has nothing to do with the actual subject matter, or the character designs or anything else that I ever point out. It's simply that the black-haired girl is carrying a bow, that's extremely hard to find in anime and I love archery! So that's got me pretty excited for this one.

Though watch, with my luck it's gonna be totally shoujo and/or little kid-ish and stupid and it's gonna be unbearable to sit through and I wont wind up watching it anyway, that's just my hunch for this one given that I haven't the slightest idea what it'll be about.

Houkago no Pleiades: Aires Winter

Again, I haven't the slightest idea what this is going to be about, all I know is it's made by Gainax and the car company Subaru O.o That honestly is the only reason I want to see this is because I'm curious about what the heck a car company is doing making an anime, that and it makes me wonder if it'll be about cars in some way, because there's an annoying lack of car anime, other than Wangan Midnight, Initial D and Speed Racer. Basically it's just sheer curiosity that's driving me to watch this (pun intended, ha ha XD I'm so lame), that and I like the outfits of both the first and second girls in that picture.

So there you have it, the Winter 2011...or, well, most of it anyway, what I want to watch from it. As for the rest it can be found here , including OVA's, Movies and OAD's, the only things out of those I'm personally gonna try out are Supernatural and Goulart Knights. Though I must say I've realized I really don't like winter seasons very much in general cuz the start dates are all scattered, I like it better when they all start in the same week. Anyway though, here's hoping to a good season, comment and let me know what you think!

Top 10 List: Anime Villains

Lemme just start off by pointing out this was a terribly difficult list to make because I had to balance how awesome or bad-ass they were, with their level of evilness and there's only one who I kind of teetered on with that and weighted the 'awesomeness level' a little more than the 'evilness level' but I'll explain that when I get there. But seriously, it's insane how many sexually twisted villains there are! Jakotsu of InuYasha...well...he doesn't even need an explanation, Kanone of Spiral is just creepishly gay for Eyes and Creed from Black Cat is creepishly gay for Train, oh god let's not forget Haku of Naruto and then one or two more that are on this list so you see later. Also, honorable mention to Hazama/Terumi of BlazBlue, he's not on this list because he's from a videogame (albeit an anime videogame that plays quite like a visual novel), but he's a pretty good villain. ANYWAY:

Number 10: Shiki (Togainu no Chi)

Shiki is on here basically because he got lucky in a mental coin toss between him and Asura of Soul Eater. Shiki is cool basically because he's mysterious and super-dangerous, plus he just looks really freakin' bad-ass and he uses a katana. He's also one of the only guys in Togainu no Chi that's not annoyingly gay. He's the embodiment of what I was looking for in this anime, tons of bad-assery, awesome fights and little to no shounen-ai. Plus the slight plot twist with him being Rin's brother is pretty cool too, only real back story in this anime and it kind of makes you wonder about the

rest of he and Rin's history.

Now yes it can be argued as to whether or not he's a villain, because killing people randomly is common-place in this anime so by normal standards the entire cast other than the old man would be villains. In my book he's a villain because of the fact that he's extremely feared, mysterious and he just randomly kills people just cuz; not even to get their tags. Thats another thing is he breaks the rules of Igra in not collecting or carrying tags so it's almost as if his goal is to stop Igra...or just kill the protagonists, nobody's really sure I suppose.

Number 9: Kaito Sai (X) (Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro)

Maybe it was just process of elimination or maybe I just like him cuz he's under-appreciated, but either way he's completely bad-ass and a crazed killer. That's pretty evil, AND he can alter his cellular structure! That's freaking awesome, and if memory serves (I watched this like 2yrs ago) he turned his arms into chainsaws at some point, that's just sick...creepy, but sick. Sure his method of killing people is pretty creepy, he cuts them up and examines their insides and puts them in a box O.o With that though, his motives are pretty original, he cuts people up and examines inside their body to discover what 'identity' really is and how it's determined. Kind of like a forensic pathologist/anthropologist gone wrong.

Number 8: Jellal/Siegrain (Fairy Tail)

The only real reason Jellal gets higher than Sai is because he uses magic...and he's not as crazed, Jellal actually has a definite goal. He builds this enormous tower for 8 years to resurrect the most evil wizard of all time, Zeref, and intends to use his former best childhood friend and crush as a human sacrifice to do this. Not only that but he's smart, he treats his entire plan like a game of chess and a race-against-the-clock type thing with who can win before the council (under his persuasion) releases the one of the most powerful spells on his tower to destroy it. Not only that, but once the spell does hit, he doesn't care because he had a way to deal with that already.

He's not your stereotypical stupid villain who's just a power-hungry freak, he actually knows what he's doing. Though I've gotta say, for anybody who watches Fairy Tail does he look a lot like a blue-haired version of Gray or is it just me?

Number 7: Gin Ichimaru (Bleach)

I just need to start off by saying Gin is an absolute freak, he is so insanely creepy he's just...ugh! He's the creepy creeper king of creepy anime characters, he's actually right up there with Freeza. His creepiness is actually probably a big part of the reason he's on this list and that's also in fact what makes him a really good villain. Not because he has some amazing evil scheme, in actuality he's just following Aizen; no, what makes him a good villain is that right from the beginning, the very first time you see him, you know there's something creepy about him. He can be as nice as he wants and smile as much as he wants (that smile is actually a huge part of his creepishness) he can do whatever could make him seem good...and you can still tell he's evil. Aizen and Kaname, bit of a shock, but with Gin you knew it all along, in fact I would've guessed he was the mastermind. Gin on the creep scale, off the charts.

Number 6: Yakushiji Tenzen (Basilisk)

Pay no mind to Akeginu in the background. Boy am I going retro on this list, I haven't seen this in about 2 years either so bear with my memory. Anyway, Tenzen is another one like Gin who just has "I'm an evil creeper" written all over him, you can just tell, even before it's fully revealed, probably even more so with Tenzen. Now mind you, Tenzen is probably the second most evil person on this list...but he's only at number 6 because he's a freak. He's a 400yr old rapist for crying out loud! Most of his evilness comes from the fact that he's a bloodthirsty war-hawk, but also the fact that he's pretty-much immortal. Now why he's immortal is where it gets weird, he has these freaky little cysts on each of his earlobes that come alive and literally eat his injuries...no, really, I'm not kidding, the cysts move and grow mouths and eat the wounds! If I'm not mistaken he gets his head cut off at some point and they even fix that! Now wait, it gets weirder, he's a rapist too! I don't think you can get more fucked up than this guy honestly.

I'M WARNING YOU NOW, THIS NEXT ONE WILL CONTAIN A LOT OF SPOILERS FOR NARUTO UP TO THE CURRENT MANGA CHAPTERS IN JAPAN (around ch.400 onwards, though mostly in the 470's to 518) BEWARE!!!!

Number 5: Tobi/Madara Uchiha (Naruto)

'Tobi is a good boy' my ass! As awesome and funny as Tobi used to be, he's now the one who orchestrated pretty-much every problem from before the series' start onward. He set the nine-tails on Konoha! He was the one behind Akatsuki trying to take over the world and get the tailed beasts. He orchestrated everything, he waited...god I forget how many years but a long-ass time to carry out his ridiculously involved plan. It's just insane to find out that Tobi was the one behind everything in the series and that he was the one pulling the strings behind a lot of the other villains.

The only real reason he didn't get higher on this list is because his plan is too cliche, your basic 'control evil monsters to take over the world' type thing. For as much of a genius as Tobi is, he's not particularly original. That and as his evilness got turned up, his awesomeness went waaay down, honestly I liked him a lot better as the funny 'good-boy' sidekick of Akatsuki, honestly he was more original that way. And not like this is relevant at all, but his mask is a bitch to make, I cosplayed as him once and that mask was killer...and it kinda screws with your depth perception if you wear it for too long.

Number 4: Grimmjow Jeagerjaquez (Bleach)

Yes I'm aware that he's not a major villain, nor is he the mastermind of the evil plan he's involved in, but he is in fact evil. Evil, and probably one of the most bad-ass characters on this list. He's extremely violent and determined, he has this strange, but cool love for fighting and his fight-scenes are pretty-damn epic. He also lacks respect for the retarded authority above him which I really enjoy about his character, he always says what's on his mind no matter who it ticks off. To top that off he's dangerous as all hell, and he holds one nasty grudge...then again, who wouldn't hold a nasty grudge of someone cut open your chest? That and unlike a lot of villains, he's not done in after one fight, he just keeps coming back to wreak havoc.

Number 3: Ikaruga (Fairy Tail)

Anybody actually remember her? She's only there for about two episodes, but she's completely epic, from her character design to her fighting style to her constant taunting of Erza, she's just really bad-ass and I wish she got more screen-time.

As minor as this is, I'll start with her character design, her Kimono is cool, a nice traditional touch to this modern-set anime and while you can't see them in this picture, she had the coolest sandals, they're like insanely high platform sandals and anybody who knows me, knows I LOVE chunky shoes. Anyway though, she uses a katana and she's extremely awesome with it, to back Erza herself into a corner is no simple feat, and there's nothing her sword can't cut. She herself isn't very evil because she's more or less a hired peon, but she's completely bad-ass and the fact that she's a mercenary makes her pretty-damn evil. That and she breaks that stereotype of the weak delicate looking anime girl. I actually almost wanted to see her win her fight...granted that's also because I'm not particularly a fan of Erza, but I just wanted to see her win with that awesome fighting style of hers.

Number 2: Light Yagami (Death Note)

Now I personally don't agree with classifying him as a villain, but since he is in fact considered to be one even by the creators themselves I suppose he meets the criteria for this list.

His goal, first off, is amazing, debatable on how evil it is, but it's amazing nonetheless. That and in wanting to become a living God, he sure has the highest standards of just about any villain I can think of as well. And unlike most villains who get caught up in the 'genius' of their own plans they just become stupid, Light keeps a level head pretty-much all the way through.

He's also probably one of the most, if not the most, successful anime villain there is...except maybe Lelouch...but I don't really consider him a villain either. I mean sure he went a little crazy, but not to the point of being evil. Now why was Light so successful? Cuz he's a freaking genius! He's able to manipulate the world as if it's his game of chess, with limited mess-ups I might add. That and he actually has a personality and is a likable character at the same time with being a so-called 'villain'.

I'M WARNING YOU NOW SO NOBODY FREAKS OUT ON ME AGAIN FOR 11Eyes SPOILERS. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR 11Eyes IN THIS NEXT ONE!!!

Number 1: Liselotte Veltoll (11Eyes)

Bet nobody was expecting her huh? Now I can't honestly say she's my favorite villain, but she is the best villain in my opinion. Why exactly? Because she's the most original villain and that originality absolutely blew my mind, she's probably the most evil girl in anime (evil, not annoying), she's all-powerful, she tricks everyone into believing she's good she trapped people in a parallel dimension and she did this all out of love.

Yes her ultimate goal was to destroy the world, none to original there, what was original was how she goes about doing this. The black moon in her dimension, the Red Night, turns out not to be a moon at all, in fact it's the gate to hell and she wants to use the powers of the main protagonists and Kakeru's Eye of Aeon, to bring this gate to hell down on the earth and thereby destroying it! That's freaking insane! First of all, who would ever suspect a cute little girl stuck in a crystal? Second, who would ever suspect that the moon is a gate to hell?!

Why does she do this? She does this because she's pissed off that her boyfriend died, basically that's what it comes down to. And she's one villain who you really can't say is particularly psychotic either. That and she's a girl, how many good girl villains do you see in anime? Not a whole ton, and in my opinion, Liselotte is not only a good villain, she's the best villain from...probably one of the best anime I've seen, somewhere in the top 5 top 10 definitely. And actually, I neglected to mention that she's a split personality (obviously I'm referring to her dark side here) which only helped in her plan because it made Kakeru and the rest of the gang that much more eager to free her. Bad idea guys, you unleashed anime's number one villain.

Pansy Male Leads (Rant)

Ever try watching an anime that seems really bad-ass but it's wrecked by a male lead who is a complete pansy? Either that or they just make an anime a lot more annoying, no matter how good it is. Personally those characters really piss me off, and they just really need to grow some balls...and fast!

The incedent that actually pissed me off enough to write this post in the first place was first Hiroshi Kuzumi of Ookami Kakushi, which seemed like a really awesome anime in theory...but this kid was just sooooooooooo annoying. He's completely emotionless and girly and he goes into blushing freak-out mode whenever girls are near him! He even looks pathetic, actually with that picture alone I'd guess he's actually a female teacher or something. This kid is pretty-much the entire reason I couldn't watch this show, that and his tsundere, zombie-like little sister. I swear they could have some sort of twincest goin on there -.- But yeah, he was my first motivation to write this because his pansiness and lack of a spine (not to mention balls) just pissed me off so much. The only character I can actually say pissed me off more for almost the exact same reason is Keisuke of Togainu no Chi.

Keisuke is not only a pansy, but he's a gay pansy who can do nothing but cry over Akira not appreciating him...then take drugs...go homocidal and still be a little crybaby that Akira doesn't like him! That's litterally all he does, I'm really waiting for somebody to just do him in and put him out of his misery. That's another thing is he's a complete emo! Oh my god! How about you actually, oh I don't know, work to get stronger instead of just crying and doing drugs?! No matter what you do you'll never get in Akira's pants so give it up! Ugh, I can't even tell you how much cooler this show would be without Keisuke, especially cuz it'd get rid of about 40%-50% of the stupid yaoi so it could focus more on the fighting. I swear, in that pic, Akira said it right, he looks like shit as usual. And seriously, that annoying pouty face is usually how he looks, always crying and trying to get Akira to care.

Sadly, somebody else who bothers me a lot is actually quite a lot like Keisuke, Suzaku Kururugi of Code Geass. Alright alright, he's an awesome Knightmare pilot and has one of the strongest Knightmares in the show, but still, he's a disloyal little pansy. First of all think about how often he switched sides over the course of the anime and how much he was just like "I just want what's best for everyone" I mean he's like a hippie. He doesn't seem to get that he's fighting a war! He can't sympathize with both sides, it just won't work. That and he's really whiney at times, and in those times is so desperate for Lelouch's approval that it's just sad. Granted, I don't really hate Suzaku, he just annoys me a lot and if he grew some balls (kind of like at the end of the series) he might actually be a decent character, but his whining really annoys me.

Speaking of annoying crybabies, how 'bout Italy of Hetalia for an obnoxious one? Sure his constant shouting of "PASTAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" all the time is pretty funny, but he's most of the reason I couldn't continue to watch Hetalia because his constant crying was just so annoying. Worse yet was the whole 'Chibitalia' segment -.- Oh Christ that was like murder to watch, it was so freaking annoying and just made me want to punch both little Italy and the Holy Roman Empire. I forget which country it was...it might've been France that when they captured him they kept sending him back to Germany because he was just so damn annoying, I totally don't blame him. I think the anime could've been a ton better without Italy's crying.

So yeah, pansy male leads are really annoying and in my not so humble opinion, the anime world is better off without them cuz they just wreck shows. Oh! And honorable mention goes to Chad of Bleach because while he's far from being a pansy and is in fact really tough and loyal, his pacifism and constant "I don't want to hurt you" attutude towards his enemies bothers me a little bit sometimes.

First Impressions: Fall 2010 Anime I've Tried

When I first saw the chart for the Fall season I was pretty psyched, I thought it was going to be a lot better than the summer season, which was the best ever for me. It's not so much that I'm dissapointed, because there's some really great anime, but I expected more. Sorry I didn't do a post watching for all the Summer Anime, but I just didn't have the time. Also Starry Sky and Goulart Knights won't be on this list because they weren't airing in the fall like some of us thought, they're slotted for Winter. Anyway, without further delay (since this post has been delayed enough already):

Bakuman:

I was actually very pleasantly surprised with this one. I didn't think an anime about two kids drawing manga would be that interesting, but I was proven wrong. Not only is it pretty interesting, but the two main characters are simply brilliant, they felt real and believable within the first episode, both with unique personallities and quirks.

Along with the purely superb characters, the art is pretty great too and the way they carry out the story is nowhere near as plain as I was expecting. This definately holds to the Sh

ounen Jump way of turining something potentially boring into something great, along with having fantastic characters. I really can't think of a Shounen Jump anime that doesn't have mostly great characters.

Needless to say I'll be watching this one all the way through, and I highly reccomend others give it its fair chance.

Hakuouki Hekketsuroku:

The fangirls are most likely going to strongly disagree with me on this one, however I really don't

like the western uniforms. At all. The only one who looks semi-decent in his is Heisuke. That and I'm really sad Okita is still insanely sick and bedridden, I want him to have a bigger part again.

Either way though, this is far from unenjoyable, the action is still just as gripping and just as well done as the first series and each episode leaves you satisfied, but still craving more. Sure it has its annoying aspects, but overall it's still the same great historical Samurai anime, strange that it has so many bishies, but whatever, that's not my focus.

Two points of warning though: 1. You must watch the first series first otherwise none of this makes sense at all because it (thankfully) picks up almost exactly where the first series left off. And 2. Chizuru has MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR useless-female-lead-syndrome, much like Orihime and Sakura. All she seems to do is cry and cry summore about how she wants to help everyone and cry out any of her male companions' names "Hijikata-san!!!" mostly so far, some major HijikataxChizuru going on in this one. Either way, I'm sure it'll be a great watch, again, this is one I'm going to finish.

Psychic Detective Yakumo:As

The story is executed pretty good, though I think it's about to get better because it seems as though they're getting into a major mystery part of it. The opening animation is nothing short of epic, just like Yakumo's character design.

In fact Yakumo's entire character is epic, enigmatic a lot of the time, but a solid character. The female lead isn't too bad, there's a small romance seemingly bubbling up in the works here which just adds to the story. It reminds me a little of Spiral actually, in feel anyway, not in content. That and Yakumo's attitude is pretty similar to Ayumu's. The story is going great and seems to be getting greater in the way that a little more depth has the posibillity of forming, honestly in this kind of a series I can't really see how depth wouldn't form.

Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto:

As purely awesome as the character designs look, in my opinion this is pure garbage, fairly cliche

mecha series. One person capable of controling this super-powerful mecha, eh, just not doin' it for me.

I tried this one on a whim seeing as how I like the character designs, despite not being a fan of mecha, I figured that I liked Code Geass so may as well try my luck with another mecha anime. I can't say I was expecting much, but the little bit I was expecting sort of dissapointed me, I thought at least in the first 2 episodes something

majorly awesome would happen, or the characters would have at least a little depth to them.

Speaking of the characters, from what I saw the main character, Takuto if I'm not mistaken, was a terribly weak lead, he really didn't have a lot of character depth and he was that annoying 'clueless character from another place' type, which really bothers me. Actually clueless characters in general bother me, but especially if they're leads.

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls: Again, I was highly surprised with this one, though not in

a pleasant way. From the time I saw the trailer I kinda figured I wouldn't like it due to ecchi, but I had my hopes. Strangely it wasn't the ecchi that put me off though, that, ironically enough, wasn't too terrible. What really put me off of this series was the shitty animation, a cross between normal anime art and really suckish cell-shading almost, and EVERYTHING had a huge thick black line as on outline and it looked dumb. That and the random black liquid splotches everywhere, not even just as censors, they'd show up randomly and it was very obnoxious. It's like if Crona of Soul Eater had really bad bronchitis and kept coughing up blood all over this anime. It was horribly distracting, it looked stupid and it was just annoying.

As if that wasn't enough, up through episode two the characters are so shallow it's about as annoying as small children on candy...lots of candy. I mean litterally, the characters made no sense...at all, some of them aluded to having a backstory, especially the main hero, the maid was a creepy yuri freak and there's people getting pissed at each other for no known reason. 'What could make that weirder and harder to follow' you ask? Well how about a random pink-haired super powerful samurai girl with amnesia falling naked from the sky, stealing her first kiss and then turning homocidal?

Otome Youkai Zakuro:

I honestly really wanted to like this one, however I simply couldn't get into it, I'm not quite sure why. Maybe it was that eventhough the whole idea of it seemed cool, with the demons and everything, it just was executed in a more girly manner than I thought. That and the bishies -.- Oh God the bishies, they weren't even good bishies, they were just strange, especially the black haired stoic one. And the blonde one threw a childish fit at any encounter of a demon, it was truly pathetic.

Not only that, but see how Zakuro (the center girl) is holding a dagger and it looks pretty bad-ass? Yeah she doesn't use that, it turns into a branch with sakura flowers on it, so much less epic. Zakuro herself isn't a bad lead, she has a slight backstory established in episode one or two, however she just irritates one of my pet peeves, Tsundere characters. I really can't stand the girls that are normal

usually, but they go all defensive whenever a guy talks to them or someone suggests they might be in love, it's just really annoying and overused.

So sadly I wont be watching this one, but for anyone who was even slightly considering this I'd still give it a chance if I were you, it's not completely terrible, it's just not something I would personally spend my time watching, but for fans of the shoujo genre/demographic it's probably pretty good.

Shinryaku! Ika Musume:

First off, as an anime that takes place on a beach and involving the ocean with lots of vibrant colors, this totally should've been slotted for the summer, or at least early to mid September, not the fall, it just totally strikes the wrong mood.

That aside however, this anime was just far too little kid-ish for my tastes, everything from the plot to the animation to the attitude of the characters just really seemed to be aimed towards little kids, thus making it terribly boring to me. That and I hate overly naive characters, in this case, the overly naive one was the lead, Ika Musume (Squid Girl), but that one's just a personal pet peeve of mine.

The only thing I can honestly say is neat about this anime is it's very original, I for one have never seen anything involving squid as a lead character in any way, much less a girl with squid abillities. So it gets originallity points on that front, that and loli points just because of the sheer kawaii-ness eminating from Squid Girl.

However, neither originallity points nor loli points are enough to make me want to watch this one all the way through, it's just too immature and simplistic for me.

Tantei Opera: Milkey Holmes:

Milky Holmes? Gentleman Thieves? Toys? MORE LOLIES?!?! Not for me thank you very much. I had limited hope for this anime to begin with and a very large sense that it was going to turn out much the same as Ika Musume, way

to little kid-ish. Turns out I was sadly proven right, very little of the mystery aspect that I was hoping so much for.

The characters are true to they're designs, they're very immature, the only cool characters are the bad guys...well...two of them anyway. Seems this season's pretty big on lolis and bishies.

But yeah anyway, this anime is absolute crap, it's just extremely immature and the characters act like spoiled little children and it's annoying and makes it terribly hard to watch through so obviously, I won't be watching this one.

The World God Only Knows: Strangely, this one is a lot better than I thought, I kind of had

a feeling that it might wind up as an ecchi or with Keima being really piggish but it's not. The story is quite a bit more entertaining that it sounds at surface value, especially for those fans of strategy. I know I know that sounds extremely strange, but it's true because of the way Keima goes about getting the girls to fall in love with him, he's very strategic about it.

With that, there's only about 3 recurring characters, Elsie and Keima who are the leads, very good leads thus far I might add, and Keima's mom who is also Elsies adoptive mother due to a series of very strange and comical events. Those three characters are very believable and their personalities are great, which personally I think is extremely important in any work of fiction.

This is another I'll be watching till the end and most likely the second season as well that's slated for...I believe sometime in the spring. I'd highly recommend checking this one out because it has a little something for everyone...well except hard-core action fans who watch nothing but action, there's very little of that, but if you are that type of person I'd still recommend broadening your horizons and then trying this out.

Togainu no Chi: Hmm...well this one's a toughy, actually I even had trouble deciding whether

or not I wanted to watch it because of my mixed feelings about it.

Bottom line is it's good, good enough to watch, but not awesome like I was hoping. Strangely it's not even so much the yaoi that's the problem because that hasn't been really kicked into high gear as of yet, thank god. It's there, but not to the point where it's impossible to ignore. No, my main problem with it actually is the lack of good fight scenes, they're few and far between and whatever good ones they do have, are really short. It's an anime in which the setting is a s

treet fighting ring! C'mon! There's gotta be better fights than that. For some unknown reason though, it's still enjoyable to watch, for now.

Akira is a pretty good lead, thankfully he's not gay so far and generally get's annoyed with Rin's homosexual advances...though I guess Rin doesn't really bother me because most of the time he's just screwing around about it. What really bothers me though, is Keisuke -.- He's so annoyingly gay and has this creepy fetish for Akira and has a very motherly, yet gay obsessive attitude towards him and it's obnoxious. Actually the best thing I can compare this annoying infatuation to is that of Sakura with Sasuke in part 1 of Naruto, Keisuke being Sakura of course. Either way though, as long as the disturbing obnoxiousness that is yaoi keeps at bay, I'll watch this one all the way through. Oh! Be warned though, it's pretty angsty with very very drab colors, so if you're looking for a fun watch or something light, stay very far away from this.

Yosuga no Sora: Last and least is this disgusting thing. I was horrifically scarred watching this.

It's a disgusting, disturbing, twincest harem in which the little sister is a whore for her shy and introverted big brother. I cannot even tell you how purely puke-worthy this anime is. Not only is the twincest aspect absolutely horrifying, but the harem aspect isn't even well done, EVERY SINGLE RANDOM GIRL in the town seems to be hopelessly in love with the male lead the first time they meet him. This accompanied by an instant orgasm and blushing profusely at the sight of him!? It's retarded.

Quite possibly the worst aspect of this anime is the younger sister Sora, she's angsty and doesn't go to school or talk to anybody but her brother because of that, she has these constant sexual fantasies about him and gets really annoyed whenever he's with another girl. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for possessiveness in a relationship, but not if it's your sibling! In addition to all that she's a slut! She's an absolute whore! At the end of the first episode she wakes her brother up in the middle of the night, strips for him, and begs him to make her cum in this annoyingly submissive desperate voice.

As if that ending wasn't disgusting enough, there's an omake at the end with a maid masturbating to the thought of the older brother! It's freaking ridiculous! And you know what else is ridiculous? The nipples! If you're gonna do uncensored ecchi at least do it right -.- The nipples in this show look like giant shiny pink mounds of clay loosely plopped on top of a breast, they don't even look attached. As if that didn't look stupid enough there's like a freaking crater in the center of the nipple! It just looks plain idiotic. There's absolutely no reason for anybody to watch this anime, honestly, there's much better harems out there, there's much much better ecchi and much better incest...I think...that's generally something I'd stay away from, but I'd imagine there is.

Adventures at New York Comic Con/New York Anime Festival

For the first time ever, I got to go to New York Comic Con, held in conjunction with New York Anime Festival. I'd always wanted to go to this, so it was awesome to finally be able to go with my school's anime club. As if it wasn't obvious, I just had to cosplay for this event, a few of my other friends did as well. There's a picture taken of my friend Sano and I prior to the Con, I'm a Team Magma Grunt (keep that in mind, it's relevant later on) and Sano is a very crappy Maka from one of the Soul Eater endings.

Nevertheless I'm pretty proud of my cosplay, Sano and I made it together, she did the majority of the sewing, I made the belt, I dyed the stripes on the leg warmers (that was REALLY messy) and put stuffing in the lil horn things (we called them Conic Protrusions) on my hood that you can barely see in the picture. All in all though, in case anyone is wondering, we basically did this entire costume for $15-$16 and under a week of time.

Moving on though, as I said before, we went with our school's anime club, so going with a lot of our friends made it even more awesome, though only 4.5 of us cosplayed. I was freaking out the entire way there actually, just cuz I was so damn excited! And when we got there I was moderatly overwhelmed by how huge the Jacob Javits Center is...and the fact that somebody with an awesome cosplay of Matt from Death Note just randomly came up to me and was like "Omg! You're cosplay is awesome, you get a hug!". Oh, and as a side-note, one of our chaperone's brother-in-law was Master Chief, Master Chief with a shitty sense of direction I might add XD. But a good 80% of our anime club group (especially the guys) nearly had orgasms and died of excitement when he put the costume on. I'll admit it was pretty bad-ass, but nothing more than that seeing as how I find Halo stupid.

That picture was actually taken right outside the Javits Center right after we got off the bus and everyone in anime club was like "Master Chief! WE HAVE TO TAKE YOUR PICTURE!!! *fanboy spazz*" it was pretty nuts, I just took a picture solely for this post and because my friend told me to take a picture of anything Halo related for her.

Anyway though, back to the actual Con, when we got in, we were made to stand in a line that was litterally almost a block (not a city block, a normal block) long and we sort of paniced because it seemed like we'd never get in, however that line, whatever it was for, was over with in like 5 minutes. Though along the way we saw really awesome cosplays that I should've taken pictures of but I didn't, however some lady stopped me and this other kid in anime club dressed as a Kabuto (the Pokemon) and was like "Can I take a picture of you two!" in a strangely rushed and excited manner, it was sort of creepy.

While we were walking through said line, we got a lot of stares from city passerbys, it was sort of funny. And on our way in my friend Ginookami-chan (whose real name I wont reveal) got her first free hug of the day from a Con official. In that picture you probably can't read her sign, but it says "Free Hugs from Namine" and inside she kept a tally of how many hugs she got throughout the day. I think the grand total was 30, with 1.5 from me (I rarely give hugs, so mine counted extra) and another .5 from a super-soft sushi plushie that I bought. Personally I don't think her Namine cosplay was that bad right? And it was original, we didn't see any other Namine's, lots of Kairis and Soras though.

At first when we got there we wandered around the Comic show floor, not really knowing what anything was because, well, none of us are really that into comics. However we did run across a Pokemon Trainer cosplay who seemed as though he wanted to battle with me. We also ran across the first of many (seriously, there were TONS) Vocaloid cosplays, a not-so-amazing Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin to be exact, but there were far better ones that sadly I didn't get pictures of so this'll have to do.

I guess they're not bad, but there were far better ones that I wish I got pictures of. Actually, my one regret of the day, besides not getting to see the Hatsune Miku concert and not getting to get Veronica Taylor's autograph, was not taking enough pictures, but oh well. It was sort of hard to take a lot of pictures because of the HUGE crowd and the fact that everybody was moving around a lot.

After we finally figured out that we were on the floor solely for comics and whatnot though, we went down to the anime section Artist Alley. For those of you who don't know, an Artist Alley at a con is basically an entire area where amature artists sell various things that they've created relevant to the subject of the con. There were quite a lot of very artistic and VERY skilled computer and drawn renderings of anime characters, which sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures of for obvious reasons, but there might be some in the background of other shots. Quite a lot of yaoi and overly bishounen stuff actually, a long with a very disturbing picture of Sesshomaru in which he only had a towel covering his dick and one of Renji looking like he just had a freaking orgasm! Sheesh, I will never understand the fetishes of some people.

In the Artist Alley area, Ginookami-chan got plenty of free hugs, 2 of which were from a very well done Sora and Kairi, the 3 of them sort of freaked out and hugged eachother and the Sora was like "Kairi!! I Found your other half!". I gotta say, for me it was pretty laughable. Even more laughable was when Ginookami-chan was freaking out over not being able to find a Roxas to hug, so when she finally found one it was a little kid. She all but glomped him (though not with quite so much force) and apparently the little Roxas had no clue what was going on because he looked theroughly truamatized. Safe to say it was the hillarious moment of the day and Ginookami-chan kept saying "I didn't mean to truamatize him! But he was like the only Roxas". (Until later when she found a Roxas that she didn't have to rape in order to get a hug)

After that we looked around the Artist Alley a bit more, I bought a Pokeball pin to put on my belt, a Tobi mask pin and a pin that says "I (heart) sushi Om Nom Nom Nom". Later, Ginookami-chan and I went to go see Crispin Freeman's Q&A Panel which was AWESOME! Though we were too far in the back to get any pictures, it was still pretty funny, and it was way cool to actually see Crispin Freeman. For anybody who doesn't know, he provides the dub voices for Itachi of Naruto, Alucard of Hellsing, Kyon of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Holland of Eureka 7, Jeremiah Gottwald of Code Geass along with many more, and he will be voicing Shizuo of Durarara! once it gets dubbed...if its not already, I don't keep up on that particular anime, though his panel made me kind of want to watch it. He also poked a bit of fun at Twilight and how the Twilight "vampires" really aren't vampires at all, they're fairies because fairies sparkle, vampires don't.

After that, back in the Artist Alley we ran into a pair of Team Rocket Grunts whom I got into a brief team "debate" with (more of a short rp than anything else) when they were like "Hey, we're gonna steal your Pokemon" Me (playing along): "I'd like to see you try" Them: "Oh, yeah? We're gonna tell Archie on you" Me: "*laughs* surrrree" then Ginookami-chan and I left and it dawned on me that Archie isn't in fact the Magma Admin, he's the Aqua Admin and Maxie is the Magma Admin, but whatever.

I guess while I'm still more or less on the topic of Artist Alley I should probably post the rest of the pictures I have from there; an Envy cosplay, a Sesshomaru cosplay, and Sano with a much better Maka cosplay, who seemed pretty scared when she asked for a picture. But either way, the rest of my pix from the Artist Alley area:On our way out of Artist Alley we ran into another Team Magma grunt and we high-fived and were like "Team Mates!" Him: "Hey, I havn't seen any Team Aqua members today, have you?" Me: "Nope, I think we scared 'em off". That was pretty cool...Oh! I should also probably mention at some point we ran into somebody cosplaying as Soul, so of course Sano had to get a picture with him/her (couldn't tell XD)

I got into talking to this girl cosplaying as Miya-Miya from Bamboo Blade who admitted she cheated in her costume and that it was her real Kendo outfit, at which I freaked out because to meet somebody that actually practiced Kendo was awesome for me, because ever since I watched Bamboo Blade I've wanted to do Kendo, it seems like so much fun. Her friend then took a picture of us and Ginookami-chan, Sano and I wandered elsewhere and ran into the coolest Zero cosplay...wow you know I'm getting way out of order with the event of things but oh well. A whole bunch of people stopped to take a picture of Zero, myself included so here it is: couldn't quite tell if it was bought or made, but either way it was really awesome! Couldn'ta been very comfortable to wear though, I mean seariously, a full body costume, he/she must've been sweltering. I was hot in my costume! and that was a very thin strapless dress and a poncho, I truly pity the people with fullbody costumes like that on. Hmm...yeah it's official, this is definately way out of order.

So anywho, at some point later on, Ginookami-chan and I went up to the 3rd floor where all the exhibit/store booths were, met up with our friend Meg and did some shopping. There was soooo much cool stuff there, but it was kind of a pain to browse efficently because at points, it was litterally so crowded that you could barely move your arms. In this general area I think we ran into the same Lucy and Erza (from Fairy Tail) cosplays like 2 or three times and they were AMAZING, at one point there was a Natsu with them...God I could kick myself for not taking a picture. But that's a picture of one of the store displays, dunno how much you can see, but there's quite a lot of stuff there along with a bit of cosplay along the back such as a Vampire Knight school uniform if I'm not mistaken. And those fans are just awesome.

The first thing I wound up buying was a black messanger bag that had the Kanji for Samurai on it, which I'm glad I did cuz I needed it to carry other stuff. So after that I bought a really nice Death Note with all the rules (even the ones between chapters/commercials) and Meg and Ginookami-chan agreed that I looked really shady slipping a Death Note into a black bag. Ginookami-chan also got an Ed Elric plushie because she's probably the biggest Ed-fangirl I know.

We also finally found the plush sushi store that I'd been looking for the whole time, they had many different kinds and sizes of sushi and riceball pillows, all handmade. The stands had a tag on them that said "hug me" so I hugged one and I was like ''OMG THEY'RE SO SOFT!!!'' so I told Ginookami-chan to hug one and the guy was holding out a riceball one for someone to hug so she hugged it and was also amazed at how soft they were. So I bought a tuna roll pillow that Ginookami-chan kept snatching and hugging whenever I took it out.

After shopping we had some time to kill so we went over to the AnimeNEXT manga library (AnimeNEXT brings their manga library to various cons) and...well aside from being the only quiet place there, it was just amazing how much manga they had. Picture that shelf in the pic, but at least 10-15 of those FULL, some of which were taller. No matter how much time I spent looking at manga in Barns And Noble or Borders, there were still a bunch of titles in this library that I'd never even heard of before...granted it's not like I'm overly into manga, but it was pretty mind boggling.

We just kind of browsed through the manga selection seeing as how we didn't have enough time to read a volume, but it was still pretty cool, I should've taken a more diagonal picture to get more shelves but what can ya do. Note to self (and to anyone planning on going to Comic Con 2011): Take time to take as many pictures as possible!!!

All in all the day was pretty awesome, though if your highly clostrophobic or you just really hate crowds, I'd reccomend going to a smaller con, because the crowds here were just insane. This was the first time that the Saturday show had ever sold out and as I said before, in soome areas the crowd was so dense you couldn't move your arms. But there were cool events, awesome stuff to buy (some of it pretty cheap) awesome cosplay and it was just overall awesome!

Definately a must-have experiance for any anime fan, I'd most definatly reccomend going at least once in your anime loving life. Cosplaying is also a great idea for it, many photo-ops and short rp's with people having some relation to your character plus it just makes the experience so much more awesome (though depending on your character, maybe harder to get around.

A word of advice though, look online for events that you want to go to before hand, because it's kind of a pain trying to look through the posters outside every door. And if you're limited on money, the Artist Alley is a great place to look for really cool stuff. Oh! And watch out for yaoi paddles XD They're everywhere! And remember to eat, otherwise you'll wind up with a headache. And contrary to popular belief, unless you're planning on watching a ton of panels/screenings/other events, 5-6hrs there is plenty of time to do a lot of stuff.

Post-Viewing Opinions: Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi

Ookami-san to Shicinin no Nakama-tachi is one of the Summer 2010 anime releases that aired 12 episodes and ended just recently. Overall it was a good watch and...well its a hard one to reccomend, but not one that I wouldn't reccomend. Into more detail about it though:

Story: 6.5/10 Ookami-san to Shicinin no Nakama-tachi revolved around about 9 characters at a school called Otogi Gakuen and they were part of a school organization called Otogi Ginko (Otogi Bank) that fulfilled requests for people with the payment being that said person owes them a return favor. I know it doesn't sound particularly interesting, but it's executed well and it moves at a nice pace. It plays out in a mostly episodic manner which keeps it interesting, but some reoccuring side characters and character back stories give it some pretty good continuity.

Not only does it gets points for originallity and successful execution of a mostly episodic format, but it still took the time to develop the characters thus making the story itself more believable. That and the fact that episodes played on childrens fairytails in a more mature, life-lesson type light was pretty cool as well. For example episode 3 was the tortise and the hare, Ringo is Little Red Riding Hood and Ookami-san is a Wolf in Sheeps Clothing.

The thing that brings the score for the story down a bit is the fact that at a few points, it just wasn't as interesting as it could've been and it was desperately lacking in fight scenes as well, and most of the ones they did have were a little on the short side for my tastes. That and while the ending was fairly satisfying, they left a loose end or two and it needed a better wrap-up to completely finish it off.

Animation: 7/10 Overall I liked this aspect of the anime, it was colorful, it was original, much like the plot and it only had a couple of real flaws. The character designs were by far my favorite part of this category, they were original and they fit the characters well.

That and I think they had just about every moe fetish covered here from glasses to Tsundere to Lolita to Maids and everything in between, and yet they didn't look annoying and stereotypical.

Everything was very colorful and well drawn for the most part, I wasn't thrilled about the awkward animation of most fight scenes involving Ookami-san and her boxing technique (with her neko-neko knuckles XD that's awesome! They say 'nyaa!' when she hits someone) though for most of the other fight scenes were pretty good so it really wasn't too too much of an issue.

Sound: 4.5/10 I usually never have a whole lot to say about this category. The score here might be a little misleading, I didn't dislike the sound my any stretch of the imagination, in fact I quite enjoyed the opening and closing and most of the voice acting. I especially enjoyed Ringo's voice actor, she did a great job of portraying her cute yet sometimes mischevious voice and she could switch from cute to evil in a matter of seconds without it sounding awkward. Majo-san and Alice-chan's voices were pretty good, they fit the characters well enough to be memorable.

The reason for me lowering this score so much though is mostly because of the narrorator voiced by Satomi Arai who is probably one of the most, if not the most, annoying voice actor I have ever heard. Her voice is so terribly off-putting and obnoxious and to make it worse, the narrorator would often inturrupt and speak over the dialogue of the show making it even more annoying. That and while I didn't particularly hate Ookami-san's voice, her tsundere-like voice when denying she likes Ryoushi was terribly obnoxious, thankfully not as much as Satomi Arai's voice, nor was it as annoying, but still a bit off-putting.

Characters: 8/10 The characters were by far the best part of the series, the entire series actually based itself almost purely on the characters and their interactions rather than the actual plot...thankfully the characters were more interesting than the actual plot; there sure was a variety of them.

As I said, the characters and their uniqueness and various quirks are what make this show and each character generally has at least one episode in the spotlight, giving the viewer a chance to like any given ones. My personal favorites were Otohime and Urashima (the two on the bottom), one of the few actual couple's I've seen in anime. That and their entire characters are based off Japanese folklore of which I'm only slightly familliar with.

The characters were all superbly developed and believeable, even the ones without much screen time were great in this aspect to the point where if a character showed up once in the beginning of the series, then again much much later, it was actually kind of difficult to forget who they were.

As I said before with the unique character designs and well-executed stereotypes, obviously the characters personallities fit that very well too, Ringo the lolita was as sweet and innocent as you'd expect...for the most part. Alice the secretary was always calm and controlled (again, mostly) and Otsuu-chan the maid was completely obsessed with helping everyone and anyone she could whenever she could. However no character was too stereotypical to the point where they were boring.

Oh, and th blonde "girl" in the picture is a trap, its actually a guy, that's just a disguise he's wearing incase you were wondering about the shortage of male characters.

Overall: 7/10 To be honest I'm not sure who I'd reccomend this anime to...its not really a comedy, it's not really action...while there's a little romance it's not major...I suppose it could be considered Shounen, but then again it's missing a lot of key Shounen aspects. I guess I would just say that overall this is just a genuinely enjoyable anime that is great if you want something light and fun without much thinking or too deep or serious of a plot. Everything about this anime simply reflects the fact that it's just very light and fun...like shortbread cookies or finger-food or something.

Anime With Crappy Endings (Rant)

Anybody who's watched a decent amount of anime has probably come across this fact that a lot of endings really suck...a lot. And some are just really damn frustrating. I know this is probably a dangerous topic to cover considering the possible spoilers, but I'll do my best to avoid em or warn for them or something. And if you're really that paranoid, skip over the section on any given anime you may be still watching or planning to watch. If you fail to do so, don't cry to me.

But anyway, my dissapointment with anime endings started pretty early in my anime-watching craze seeing as how the first anime I finished was FullMetal Alchemist and to put it bluntly, without the movie, the first series ending sucked...a lot. In fact it sucked dirty monkey dick, it was terrible -.- Thank god it had the movie to redeem it.

Not only did it leave off at a semi random spot, but who the hell thought it was a good idea to end the series with (SPOILER!!!) Al freaking losing any memory of everything that went on the past 50 episodes making it all worthless as far as his character goes! Then Ed becoming all angsty and getting stuck in an alternate dimention with seemingly no hope of getting back. But even that didn't bother me as much as Al becoming an amnesiac, that just takes the cake as far as suckish ways to end go. Well, it would if it wasn't for the movie anyway. (END SPOILER!!!)

The movie did redeem the suck-ass ending quite a lot by fixing the two aforementioned issues. That and unlike most anime movies it was in fact pretty entertaining, though I still say the series as a whole could've seriously benefited from a better ending...and not making Al so damn angsty then even MORE so in the movie -.-

Probably even worse of an ending than FMA is that of Spiral. Every single episode apart from the last few minutes of the last episode when the show was supposedly "wrapping up" (not really) was amazing!

However when it sadly came time for this great mystery/psychological thriller jewel of an anime to come to an end...it was rushed and there were so many lose ends left hanging it would be endless fun for the worlds entire population of cats!

Pretty much all the questions established at the beginning of the series and constantly asked over and over throughout the series...are left unanswered at the end. Now I don't pretend to be an expert, but aren't endings supposed to resolve the questions?

The questions of who are the Blade Children? What's so special about them? Why are they hunted? Whats the deal with Kiyotaka? Where is he? How did the Blade Children come to be? None of this is ever answered in the anime, as far as I know the manga explores it, but the anime cuts off far too early and abruptly.

Not to say this isn't a great anime and if you're into mystery it's totally worth the watch, it's an awesome anime, but the ending is toxic crap on a skewer.

While we're on the topic of ending abruptly without much closure we have Air Gear which did this in not a "What just happened?" way, not a "Ok...I still don't get this" way as in Spiral, but a sort of "That's it? I wanted more" kind of way, which is a little annoying if you're aware that the manga takes the story much deeper and it's still ongoing.

Despite the ecchi (not to the level where its particularly obnoxious though) this is actually a really great anime, its fun, its original, its action-packed, its funny and most of the characters are likeable...most of them XD And all are believable.

However, the ending was simply too abrupt and they left out soooooooooo much. I mean I really wanted to see (SPOILER!!!) Spitfire die and Kazu become Flame King...as cool as Spitfire is. I wanted to see more of Emily and Yayoi, I wanted to see what happened with Simca (or Pinky as I called her) since she more or less dissapeared. Among a bunch of other things (END SPOILER!!!) they just left out a ton of good stuff.

Personally I think this needs a second season...a LONG second season that goes right up till the manga ends. I know I'd definately watch it, even if they kicked up the ecchi a teeny bit, it was so great a show that I'd still watch it.

Lastly because I don't feel like ranting anymore and I actually feel like going to watch some anime, I'll mention Death Note because that ending bothered me a lot too.

In my-not-so-humble-opinion, Death Note is one of the greatest, most genius anime works of all time and still to this day one of my favorites (I have a hard time choosing absolute favorites) and it would be absolutely perfect if it weren't for the, yep, you guessed it, drumroll please:....Shitty-ass ending!

It's not even so much that the ending was particularly bad like the others, it's that I personally wasn't happy with it so I suppose this one could be argued a lot both ways.

However I'm personally on the side of Kira, and I like Light better as a character and he's much more of a genius than L, Mello or Near will ever be. (SPOILER!!!) The only reason he lost (which is what pissed me off and made me hate the ending) was because Mikami messed up Light's otherwise perfect plan! It's not that Light made any mistake and it's not as if he was outsmarted; that little bitch Near simply got a lucky break. (END SPOILER!!!)

I personally was just extremely dissatisfied with the ending, especially in the manga because then Light turns into a freaking whiney little pansy-puss! At least in the anime he has a fighting chance, but NOOOO, heaven forbid that, Ryuk had to go and mess it up for him again!

To top that all off I really cant stand Near and everybody in the SPK, L was cool, but Near...oh God Near needs to be shot -.- (SPOILER!!!) I mean Kira wound up forming a religion for heavens sake!...Or well a religion formed around him. The global crime rate had dropped 70% by the end of the series because of him and wars had stopped, people turned good and there was essentially world peace! And you still call Light evil?! How?! If anything Near and the SPK are the evil ones because once they had Light killed, it's their fault the world went back to the crappy crime-ridden place it had been. (END SPOILER!!) IMO Near and the SPK are the real criminals! Pfft, upholding justice my ass! I think they were just afraid of being out of a job soon if Light continued. ...God I sound like a crazed lunatic XD

Either way, can't change how it turned out, all I can do is simply rant about how angry the turn-out made me, that goes for all the anime here and all the others with crap endings.

Pre-Viewing Impressions: Fall 2010 Anime

This season seems completely amazing already, my record of the most anime I want to see was 5 from this summer, this upcoming fall season has bumped it up to somewhere between 9 and 13! Not only that, but for the first time in a while, this season seems to be much lighter on the ecchi dosage than it's predecessors. Without any further ado lets get started cuz there's a lot so this'll be a super long one. (Note: In the interest of saving time and space I'm only doing the ones I'm at least semi-interested in)

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls:

This one is basically an alternate version of History, it takes place in I think modern day but the Tokugawa Shogunate sustained power so Samurai still exist and everything. So its basically these samurai girls who help this boy rebel against the oppressive student council.

The phrase "Samurai Girls" immediately caught my eye, because for almost two years now I've been looking for a good anime involving girls that fight...or simply fighting in general in a school setting, samurai if possible, without ecchi. This one fits the first two perfectly, it's historical (in names and time period at least)...however judging by the trailer it seems like it'll be ecchi on par with Seikon no Qwasar, highly disappointing in that reguard, but I hope it'll at the very least be bearable.

Sounds interesting in theory, definitely gonna check it out and pray to the anime Gods that they don't mess it up by turning it into a porno -.-

Yosuga no Sora:

Fraternal twins return to the town where their grandpa lives after their parents died to live with him. They used to love visiting him prior to this. They go to school there and make new friends, but apparently there's dark secrets and a promise the twins made to each other years ago, and a hidden reason they chose to return.

Seems interesting enough, dark hidden secrets interest me. It seems like it could turn out to be a mystery of some sort which I always like. The premise of it reminds me a little of Ookami Kakushi for some strange reason. My only fear is that it'll wind up turning into twincest which would just kill the entire thing and make me drop it right then and there. However though this is one that I'm going to try out.

Togainu no Chi:
Champion street fighter Akira is arrested for a crime he didn't commit. A mysterious woman offers to let him out of jail if he takes out the champion of a no-holds-barred street fighting ring that's somehow tied in with drugs.

This is probably one that I'm looking foreward to the most, however its also the one that's got me the most scared. It's based off a shounen-ai visual novel which is something I absolutely HATE. My hope is that they leave it out of the anime, which seeing how the character design isn't bishounen and its not in the summary I think there's a pretty good chance of that.

It kind of reminds me of the Fast and Furious movie series, except street fighting instead of street racing; both right up my alley (no pun intended). Not only does the story seem extremely gripping and interesting, but I LOVE the design of the main character. Two years ago he woulda made it on my fangirl list easy, even still though, I like his design. Hell I like everything about this anime from what I know aside from the possible yaoi. *sings to a immature lil tune* please oh please oh please anime Gods don't let there be any yaoi.

Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai:

An otaku boy famous in online dating sims for being able to "capture" the heart of any 2D girl in said games. One day a devil comes to him with a request to help her "capture" run-away spirits that house themselves in girls hearts. And the only way to get them out is to "capture" their heart (make them fall in love)...which the main character is reluctant to do but he has no choice.

Strangely enough, there's really nothing particularly appealing about this one, there's not really anything I dislike about it, other than the fact that there's nothing outright appealing.

I'm truly stuck on the fence as to whether or not I want to see this one...and said fence is beginning to hurt my butt. I think with this one I'll wait until its a few episodes in and see what other people are saying about it. If it's popular and people's comments make it seem interesting to me, I'll check it out. I do have some interesting gut feeling though that somehow I won't particularly dislike this one...although there is always the ecchi potential of it to be considered.

Shinryaku! Ika Musume:

Ok so Squid Girl is mad at humans for polluting the ocean so she goes ashore to get revenge...but she messes up and winds up working at a seaside resturaunt instead. Clearly a comedy series, and I'll give it credit just for it's originallity. With those reasons in mind I actually think I'm gonna check this one out.

Hope it'll actually be funny and not stupid and childish like some other things this season seem like they might be.

Hmm...actually I really don't have a whole lot to say about this one. The girls funny little squid hat already gave me a chuckle. I can't say I've ever heard of an anime about squid before so this aught to be nice and fresh (pun intended).

Now I wonder...does it happen to be a sushi resturaunt she works at? Cuz that could proove to be fairly problematic...squid sushi is yummy.

Otome Youkai Zakuro:

More alternate reality feudal Japan? Sure I'll take it. Its an alternate reality where humans and youkai co-exist. And there's this organization with representitives from each side to keep this existence in balance. In that organization is a 1/2 human 1/2 youkai girl named Zakuro.

This seems interestingly remeniscant of InuYasha except the animal-eared half demon is a girl and the plot is much less involved.

I'm going to be checking this one out, hopefully it does't suck, though the blonde bishi-looking guy is kinda giving me doubts despite how bad-ass the girl with the dagger (?) may look.

Bakuman:

Follows the story of these two kids, one of which is realy good at drawing and the other is really good at writing, so they decide to form a partnership and strive to become the best mangaka in Japan. With a little underlying lovestory as well.

YAAAY! FINALLY! Its about time this gets an anime adaptation! I've seen this manga in Shonen Jump magazines, but I never had any desire to read it, figuring it'd be much better as an anime. So now I finally get to check it out!

I'm pretty excited for it, the plot seems nice and original, and there are few Shonen Jump series' that I particularly dislike, thus giving me pretty high expectations for this one. Plus, I'm always curious to see Shonen Jump manga/anime that break the stereotypical mode of tons and tons of action (not like I'm against that). Definately gonna check this one out.

Shinrei Tantei Yakumo:
A college student named Yakumo has the abillity to see ghosts with his red eye (gee, reminds me a lot of Allen Walker of D.Gray-Man O.o) and believes that ghosts are tied to this earth for a reason, if you eliminate that reason they leave. So he teams up with a girl to do just that.

Woot Woot! A new mystery, hopefully this doesn't fall through like some other potentially good ones. That and it sorta freaked me out when I did some wiki search on it and it said that the manga is shojo -.- And some of the artwork made Yakumo look kinda bishoujo, wonderful *rolls eyes* what's with all the bishis this season? Can't we have a normal season with just story, leave out the sex-appeal? I suppose it's better than gratuinous amounts of ecchi though. High hopes for this one, looking foreward to seeing it.

Tantei Opera Milky Holmes:

Taking place in an imaginary world in a time called "The Age of Detectives" the story follows 4 girls who aspire to be great detectives.

Seems kinda childish if you ask me, that and it reminds me a little bit of Bottle Fairy but with detectives instead of fairies...color schemes are pretty similar too.

Eventhough it seems childish, there's a part of me that wants to try it, just on the off chance that it's not childish and if the mysteries are any good. So if I hear good things about this one I'll definately check it out.

Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan 2:

Title is self-explanitory, its the sequel to Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan from the Spring 2010 season.

I've been greatly looking foreward to this one since I finished the last one since it ended with such a cliffhanger...a very sad one at that.

Can't wait to watch this one, more awesome Samurai epicness, more of the awesomeness that is Okita and hopefully some sort of conclusion, maybe Yukimura finding her father, the Oni being defeated, something like that. Eagerly awaiting this to air though...I just hope it's subbed faster than the last series cuz that just sucked.

Yozakura Quartet ~Hoshi no Umi~:

This one is an OVA retelling of the original Yozakura Quartet series.

I'm hoping to watch this one if it's long enough seeing as how I'm planning to watch the first series eventually and since this is a retelling, I'd assume it means you don't need to watch the first series to understand it right?

That being said I suppose I should explain that this is basically about people wit supernatural abillities which is always a fun topic, among one of my more preferred ones actually.

Starry Sky:

I know I know, it's probably super-shocking to see a reverse harem on a list of mine, not only that but a reverse harem and it has bishis. It focuses on a recently gender-intergrated school. No I promise I'm not going even more insane.

I do have justfication for wanting to watch this though, each of the 12 said bishis represent one of the zodiac animals, similar in fashion to Fruits Basket but I dont think they turn into them. I like zodiac, therefore I want to try this one out.

That and not all the bishis look to be too too girly to the point where it'd freak me out.

Goulart Knights:

OMFG!!! Those Character designs are completely AMAZING...unless of course the black haired one and the white haired one are guys, then they suck.

Anyway though: There's these creatures called "Archons" invading the world and they threaten to destroy all of humanity. This story follows the group called the Goulart Knights chosen to defeat the Archons.

This just sounds awesome through and through, from the story to the character design I'm really looking foreward to this one and I really hope it and Starry Sky do air this season cuz I'm psyched about both of them.

My only worry about this is that it could turn into being about Vampires in some way, judging by the epic win character designs...god I want those boots that the white-haired person has XD

Top 10 List: Anime Characters With An Eye Patch

This list was actually a little harder to make, out of the anime I've seen there's surprisingly few of these characters, that and I had a lot that their ranking kind of came down to a mental coin toss, especially the top 3.

Number 10: Marie Mjolnir (Soul Eater)

Honestly she just barely makes it on this list simply because I like her better than Zakuro from Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. Not because I dislike her or anything, but because of her lack of screen time not a whole lot is known about her.

However I really love her character design for whatever reason, and she's a death scythe which is just automatically cool. Plus I seriously pity her for her shitty sense of direction and lovelife...or lack there of I suppose.

Sadly I don't have much to say about her, she kind of made it on this list by default since I'm not a fan of Zakuro, being a Tsundere whore.

Number 9: Sven Vollfied (Black Cat)

Poor guy can never get any food and he always has to deal with a lot of stupid shit. That aside though, being a Sweeper is pretty neat, nowhere near as cool as being an eraser, but I don't think any of them have eyepatches.

Not only his eyepatch, but what's under his eyepatch is freaking amazing! He can see a little bit into the future! It's like he's got his own personal version of the Sharingan!

Lastly is his "brief case", that's freakin awesome! Talk about a weapon nobody would notice, plus he doesn't look like a particularly dangerous guy. The only reason I didn't score him higher is just cuz his liking for Eve bothers me...a lot, among other things about him.

Number 8: Kyuubei Yagyu (Gintama)

He/She (whatever the hell it is...apparently its a girl though) could like pass for Katsura's sister, or his bastard son or something O.o

Anyway though, she's a samurai, a really bad-ass samurai from a really bad-ass (and short) samurai family...with strange customs, but hey its a comedy show.

I don't dislike her for being a crossdresser, however I do somewhat dislike the fact that she legit thinks she's a man, to the point of thinking its completely normal to want to marry Tae-chan and in one episode she even wanted to get a sex-change (or "construct the tower of babel" as her caretaker put it)

I must say though, she's one of those characters that can look normal in the clothing of either gender, she doesn't look weird in mens clothing, she doesn't look weird in womens clothing...aside from the flower eye patch.

Bonus points for also having some kind of story to go along with her eye patch, which only a handful of characters have.

Number 7: Kenpachi Zaraki (Bleach)

Ok this guy is just plain creepy...I don't even know if its so much creepy as scary or just what he is. But he's such an insanely strong fighter that he purposely handycaps himself when he fights others to make the battle last longer.

His hair is bad-ass...actually he just looks overall bad-ass in a scary way, and he's freaking HUGE! I mean whats up with that?! He can like sit on somebody and they'd die...in fact he doesn't even need to sit on them, he just needs to let the spiritual pressure out of his eyepatch and it'd b like he's sitting on them. His spiritual pressure is just that crazy...and yet he never bothered to find out the name of his Zanpaku-to. Though he is the only Captain to make it to that rank without knowing Bankai, much less their Zanpaku-to's name.

Number 6: Lucia Nahashi (Venus Versus Virus)

She's the leader of her own organization to kill Viruses, she's extremely adept at killing viruses and she's really freaking bad-ass. Only reason she ranks higher than Kenpachi is just cuz she's not a sadistic creep. In fact far from it, a few special bullets in a virus and its dead.

Her eye under the eyepatch has some kind of special, super-strong power inherited by her father Lucif whom she wishes to kill (however fails) though I personally think there's gonna be a second season. Oh! And she fights with a dagger as shown in the pictures which is always a plus for me cuz I preferr characters who fight with anything other than a gun...well she uses that too but still.

Number 5: Kakeru Satsuki (11Eyes)

Tell me that picture doesn't make him look freaking bad-ass. That and under his eye patch is the legendary Eye of Aeon that is supposedly super powerful and any villian would highly covet it.

His relationship with Yuka is absolutely adorable, truthfully the only thing that bothers me about him is how he succumbs to Misuzu's sluttyness . Though at least he cares enough to let Yuka know that it's not like that. That and the last point is he fights with a katana, which is just freaking awesome! Katanas FTW! That with the Eye of Aeon he's pretty cool.

Number 4: Kakashi Hatake (Naruto)

Ok Ok I know it's not actually an eyepatch it's a headband, but he uses it as an eyepatch so it's good enough for me. And underneath that headband is...ANOTHER HEADBAND!!! (if you saw episode 101 of the first series you should get that) No actually it's his super-awesome Sharingan that gave him the nickname "the copy ninja" because with his Sharingan he's copied over 1000 jutsu!

He's super-cool and awesome, he's the definition of chill and he's a child prodigy, ascending the ninja ranks at such a young age! Plus again, his freaking Sharingan! I simply couldn't rak him higher for the fact that its not technically an eye patch that and he got #1 in my last list.

Number 3: Date Masamune (Sengoku Basara)

He's a really awesome Samurai captain! Do I need to say any more than that? That alone makes him awesome!

And he has an awesome nickname: The One Eyed Dragon! It just sounds super bad-ass...which he is! Plus his Engrish battle cries are pretty funny, and its the defining trait of his character. That and his epic fighting style of using 6 katana, 3 in each hand between his fingers. He commands total respect and his soldiers follow him fairly enthusiastically. He even makes his horse have handle bars! And his there are chopsticks made in the likeness of his katanas!...kind of lol they're supposed to be, but how many other samurai have that? And watching his fight scenes are absolutely captivating, he just has to stop getting injured so much.

Number 2: Agito Wanijima (Air Gear)

Not to be confused with his other self Akito, I cant stand him, he's an annoying gay little bitch who has a creepy fetish for Ikki.

Agito on the other hand, is really cool and awesome and he's the Fang King, making him one of 3 Kings on Kogarasumaru. He's an expert stormrider, probably one of my favorites to watch in action.

The only thing that kept him out of first place was the fact that he's a sadistic lunatic to begin with and thats kind of creepy. Points for making fun of Ikki for having a small dick in the same episode he's revealed. That was great, Ikki deserved to be put in his place for being such a stupid pig. Awesome that Agito was the one to do it by calling him "bite sized" lol (which is actually strangely suggestive depending on how you interpret it. Oh! And his being compared to a Great White Shark is win-cake.

Number 1: Lavi (D.Gray-Man)

What is that eyepatch for anyway? O.o Either I didn't get far enough in the series or you never do find out.

But Anyway, Lavi is hillarious, easygoing and yet not annoying like Allen, and he's not a psychotic freak (sorry Agito). His innocence is pretty cool, not as cool as Kanda's, but way less creepy than Allen's and not as lame as Lenalee's (The Dark Boots? C'mon? Really?!)

He's funny without being annoying, he's just plain cool, honestly he's the only reason I watched that anime for as long as I did and him and Cross are the only reasons I was debating going back to it. Plus wattching him fight is pretty enjoyable, especially with the comradare he's got with Allen.

Oh! And making fun of bookman calling him an old panda is pretty funny too, just cause he does in fact look like a panda. What I wanna know is if Lavi's a bookman not an exorcist, why does he have an innocence and why does he go on exorcist missions with Allen, Kanda and Lenalee? O.o

Characters That Piss Me Off Because They Prevent Relationships (Rant)

You know those characters who mess with your favorite couple in any given anime? Maybe not even your favorite per se but a good couple. God those characters piss me off, so this is a rant about them. It's not really my style to warn about spoilers but I will here: There could be potential spoilers for episode 4 of Shukufuku no Campanella, the ending episodes of Kamisama Kazoku, and the last manga chapter of Fruits Basket.

Agnes Boulange of Shukufuku no Campanella:

Ok, forget what I said about Shukufuku no Campanella having likeable characters and really nothing to hate. That changed in episode 4, prior to that I actually liked her and thought she was a cool, slightly spunky character.

However in episode 4 her and Leicester walk in on each other naked coming in and out of the bath, it would've been ok if they ended that scene there, but nooooo. All the other girls came in so (still naked with only a towel separating them) Agnes and Leicester hide in a small corner pressed tightly together, the whole time Agnes is blushing and like nuzzling Leicesters chest and once the other girls are out of earshot they step out and Agnes goes slutty moe girl all of a sudden and instead of accepting Leicester's apology, she says is this stupid cute little voice "Its ok, I enjoyed it". Ugh! God it pissed me off to no end!

Then to make it all the worse she goes into the bath with the other girls and when asked why she was hiding (they didn't know about Leicester) she goes lesbian on them and says she wanted to secretly admire their bodies! What?! Where the heck did that come from!? Then she starts groping Carina and playing with her breasts and all but raping her and instead of doing the logical thing and stopping her, Carina looks all pleasured from it!

Why does this piss me off so much you ask? Because over the 4 episodes I've seen (especially the 3rd one) I've become a semi-avid CarinaXLeicester fan! And to have that destroyed by a suddenly-turned-slutty-and-lesbian Agnes just for an ecchi scene because the creators were clearly ODing on Viagra at the time they made this makes me extremely angry! I really officially HATE Agnes now.

Kumiko Komori of Kamisama Kazoku:

Samatarou and Tenko made an absolutely adorable couple! Even before they got together, but nooooooo stupid Kumiko just had to come, lie to everyone about being a devil and trying to get souls for her mother and steal Samatarou away from Tenko!

And it's not even like she's that pretty, nor is she nice, she's kind of a bitch at some points. I feel so bad for Tenko having to put up with this crap, and then finding out she's a devil! Ugh, her attatchment to Samatarou just pissed me off because she was the only thing in the way of Tenko and Samatarous relationship and she turned Samatarou into a jerk. Then she goes playing the victem, whining like "Oh I know I was supposed to kill you but I really fell for you for real. *sob sob* I've never had a real family before" Oh my god! Get over yourself bitch! She just manipulated Samatarou into "loving" her and she knew it! Thankfully Samatarou didn't choose her in the end, but she still gets a house out of the deal because Mama-san pitied her! -.- Ugh! God! She's just so manipulative!

Kikyo and Kouga of InuYasha:

Anybody who knows me, or simply read my InuYasha rant or just knows my obsession with InuyashaXKagome had to see these two coming. I'm simply putting them both in the same section just because they both bother me for the same reason. And that reason is that they're always causing hell (Kikyo literally) for InuyashaXKagome.

Kinky-Hoe can't let go of her rediculous necrophiliac obession for Inuyasha and all she freaking wants to do is either drag him to hell or have his balls in her mouth (you know its true) and she makes Inuyasha get all stupid and conflicted and forget about Kagome for a time.

See!? That picture! May be a shitty screen but it's proof of how much he fucks with Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship! Man it makes me angry! He's so stupid, he's one of those stupid guys that thinks any girl will just automatically want him to do her. No! Not how it works Kouga! You can't steal taken women!

Kagome's stupid friends would also be included in this section, but they're too insignificant so I'm not going to bother. However Kikyo and Kouga just need to go die as many times as it actually takes for them to finally stay dead! Either that or they can just go screw eachother and leave poor Inuyasha and Kagome alone for a change!

Kiyomi Takada of Death Note:

Contrary to popular belief I actually think Light really did care about Misa, and Takada messed with that and it pissed me off. She was never even particularly useful. She was just a super annoying slutty character!

All she wanted was to have sex with Light and to make Misa feel inferior because Takada was probably like super insecure (who wouldn't be with man hair like that). I mean for gods sakes Misa was even prettier than her! Misa was just a ton better but noooo Takada was jealous and petti and stupid -.-

C.C. of Code Geass:

It's not so much that I hate C.C. as it is just the fact that she really annoys me because I preferr KallenXLelouch and C.C. gets in the way of that.

Somehow I can almost see the two of them getting into a catfight over Lelouch. That and the fact that I just really don't like C.C. as a character. She's annoying, she's agrivating to Lelouch and the viewer, she always states the obvious and she's obnoxiously oblivious to the world around her.

Maybe she doesn't know she gets in the way of Kallen and Lelouch and I'm being too judgmental, I don't know, but either way the fact that she does it in the first place just irks me the wrong way.

Kyo Sohma of Fruits Basket:

Oh God I can see the fangirl flames already -.- But as a YukiXTohru supporter, I don't like KyoxTohru and I hate hate hate hate any slightly romantic moment they have together because you know what? Kyo's a whiney little bitch, he doesn't deserve Tohru.

If he just left well enough alone and left Tohru to liking Yuki, everything woulda been fine and half the annoyance of his character would've been gone. But noooo He has to compete with Yuki on everything! Do they compare sizes too? -.-

Honorable mention goes to Misuzu Kusakabe of 11Eyes, no point in adding a section about her since she was the subject of my entire first post.
