Anti-Yaoi (Rant)

Oooook now, time to piss off some fangirls that...well for lack of a better term need to be put in their place. Been a while since I did any sort of controversial topic so here it is: I hate yaoi with a burning passion, I hate it, I wish it would go drop off the face of the earth...same with yuri but to a lesser extent simply because it's less IN YOUR FACE ALL THE TIME like yaoi is.

Now, just incase there's anybody who doesn't know, yaoi is simply a term for male anime characters in a homosexual relationship/situation. It is completely and utterly repulsive and unnatural in the way that I can bet that most mangaka did not want their straight characters turned gay. If they had wanted them that way, they would have drawn their manga that way in the first place! Thats probably the worst kind of yaoi, is when the obnoxious fangirls decide to take perfectly straight characters and bend them to the wills of their putrid fantasies.

It's not overly terrible if it's actually in the anime, I don't know of any off the top of my head because I don't watch that crap, but at least then its canon, nowhere near as bad as taking say Ichigo of Bleach who has no homosexual tendencies whatsoever, and drawing, writing, fantasizing or ranting about him being in some form of a relationship or sexual situation with Renji. For example see below. Now, as rediculous and disgusting as
is, it gets worse, because the rabid fangirls will leave no anime guy intact. They take brothers and make them have sex for christs sake! Not just brothers but brutal enemies such as Ichigo and Grimmjow! Or you get both at once in the form of say Inuyasha and Sesshomaru! Thats disturbing!

So lets say for a second the pairings weren't creepy and lets take a pairing that could potentially at least have some sense to it like say Mustang and Huges from FullMetal Alchemist given they do sort of have some kind of bromance going on, it's still completely disgusting! Why oh why would you want to see 2 men get it on?! Thats gross! Now before anyone accuses me of being a homophobe I'm not, I don't support homosexuality in any way, but I also will not condemn a person just because of that, in fact I have several bi/homosexual friends so you can just throw that accusation out the window. So I do not hate homosexuals, but honestly, there's no point in using it as a form of entertainment either.

By this point any yaoi fangirl still reading is probably 1. very angry at me or 2. thinking something along the lines of "if you don't like it, ignore it" now yaoi fangirl to that I say YOU WONT LET ME IGNORE IT!!! Holy shit I mean seriously it's everywhere you can't escape it if you tried! The fangirls rant about it and wail about how everyone hates it constantly and never lets you forget it! They constantly post pictures of it everywhere they can on the internet and fanfiction.net is covered in the shit! I will admit that a guilty pleasure of mine is straight lemon fanfictions, but something extremely frustrating is going to look for a certain paring (I have this issue commonly with Fairy Tail and Air Gear fanfics) and all there is, is freaking yaoi lemons! No! One straight guy raping another straight guy up the ass is NOT entertainment! And if you complain about it anywhere, hordes of fangirls will ooze out of the woodwork and act as if you're the demon spawn for insulting their precious yaoi. Honestly,
you need like a whole army to deal with them! Its really quite pathetic how they refuse to accept 1. that most of the characters aren't gay and 2. that most people don't like yaoi. Get over it.

Since I feel even more need to add fuel to the fire that the fangirls are probably gonna set upon this blog post, I think I'll throw Ouran Highschool Host Club into the mix here. God I don't know if I should call that yaoi or yuri but it's definitely extremely creepy. I think I was forever scarred to hear Vics voice used to be gay. Even if Tamaki technically was flirting with a girl, he was doing it under the impression that he was flirting with a guy, meaning he wanted to flirt with a guy meaning he's gay! And as if that wasn't enough the twins are even worse because they always flirt with each other, it's terrible! There are even yaoi fangirls in an anime! I told you they're everywhere! Ok so that stuff is canon yaoi and it's not as bad, but being yaoi its just bad in general.

Probably one of the worst displays of yaoi I've seen was at Zenkaikon when there were two people (not sure of their genders) cosplaying Naruto and Sasuke and they were making-out at one point. -.- Just about made me sick. Still though, the run of the mill "I'm gonna use my artistic super powers to draw Naruto and Sasuke in a steamy situation" is just terrible and it's everywhere! And it's the fact that the fangirls simply don't give it
Lol at Dante and Virgil
a rest. For whatever reason they seem to think that if two characters hate each other and want to kill each other, such as Sasuke and Itachi, that really means they're in love and want to screw each other senseless. No! Thats not how it is! If Masashi Kishimoto wanted his characters to be gay he would've done so. If he wanted his characters to spontaneously look overly feminine and make out with each other, he would've done so, but he did not! Therefore the fangirls just need to accept that they're NOT GAY FOR EACH OTHER...at all...period.

Honestly, the whole yaoi fandom wouldn't be anywhere near as obnoxious and disgusting if it weren't for the fangirls who whine and obsess over it everywhere and post pictures of it everywhere and insist that somehow NarutoxSasuke makes more sense than SasukexSakura. That and when they flame people out for hating on their oh-so-precious yaoi, they don't get that they're just making themselves and the yaoi fandom that much more obnoxious, and doing themselves no favors. If yaoi and/or the obsessive fangirls could just be incinerated off the face of the earth that'd be nice, but until then I just needed to get this rant out there.

Fangirls please just face it, those characters are NOT gay. Yaoi is disgusting, lots of people think so, deal with it! Anti-Yaoi Forever!

  2. Ah, I remember going through this phase. I didn't outright hate yaoi but I didn't care to see my favorite characters being paired up. Now I'm a yaoi fangirl who really doesn't mind so much. You'll grow out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I look forward to you growing out of it. The most hilarious thing is you people always whining that evil fangirls "turn your fav character gay"...but you're usually the ones denying actual gay characters existing.

You are the people who spread lies for years to "prove" that Haruka and Michiru from Sailor Moon are not lesbians. (For people who read this: Google Prince Uranus - it's hilarious and disgusting how far these gay haters go to pretend homosexuality doesn't exist).

You are the people denying that two same-sex characters who have tongue kisses, dream of living with each other and whose biggest conflict is saving each other could possibly be gay for each other.

And so on. You homophobic freaks do this more often than yaoi fangirls "turn characters gay". The delusional fools? That's you, dearie.

You have no leg to stand on. You're worse than the fangirls you whine about, which you prove by your comments on Ouran Host Club.

Oh, and by your whining about people "flaming you". While you wish for them to burn to death in your last comment. Classy, and typical for 13 year old fangirls who just discovered yaoi.

Don't worry, though. You're disgusted now, but give it five years, and you'll be happy with yaoi like the rest of us, once you grow up.

. It is completely and utterly repulsive and unnatural

By the way, just to tell you:
Homosexuality isn't unnatural. I know, you're 13 years old and probably only had abstinence "education", so you don't know better, but that is no excuse for your ignorance: You can simply google it and educate yourself.
Homosexuality actually is both natural and common.

However, notice that this part of your "opinion" is more than a deluded rant: With these lies, you are actively contributing to a culture that is all about bullying gay people, and driving them to suicide. This isn't new, google gay suicide 2010 to see what I am talking about.

This is actually important for you to realize, because you probably don't think yourself as an evil person. But you are. Your opinion is directly contributing to an atmosphere that kills. That is the banality of evil: Evil works happily through small-minded ignorance like yours.

Not liking yaoi? That's fine. Hating gays, spreading lies that gay are "unnatural", and wishing death on people liking yaoi, however, is utterly disgusting and makes you a terrible, terrible person.

  4. 1. Do not generalize or put words in my mouth please. I never denied the existence of gay characters AT ALL, I dislike them as well, they were not the focus of this post, but never did I deny them. I'm well aware those characters and situations that you've mentioned are yaoi, I will not deny that, BUT I never mentioned that in my post, you are putting words in my mouth, I was focusing on characters such as the examples I gave, NONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN IN ANY OF THOSE SITUATIONS TOGETHER. So you're point is null and void.
    2. Many of you seem to think you somehow know me better than I know myself, which is not so. I know my preferences and I know what is a phase and what's not. You are the rabid fangirls that I referenced that cannot accept that people simply do not and will not like it. So your point is null and void.
    3. I'm almost 16 and I never write about ANYTHING that I am not completely educated on and know both sides of. I know sex ed, I think its bullshit, I know homosexuality arguments, I do not agree with a majority of them. I know you calling me ignorant is desperation to make yourself seem more intelligent than you are, you are not. I know and understand every angle of this topic, hence the fact that I could draw these conclusions. So again, your point is null and void, these are my educated opinions, just because they do not match your own does not make them any more or less educated.
    4. My comments on OHSHC I even said that they are gay, and that's why I do not like that show, because of the canon yaoi, which I stated. So you're point there isn't even a point.
    5. I am not homophobic or a gay-hater or whatever ese, I have several homosexual friends. I do not have a problem with homosexuallity, I simply find it disgusting as a form of entertainment. I also never said that homosexual PEOPLE are unnatural I said all the crack yaoi is. I believe I even stated in my post that I have no problem with homosexual people.
    6. I was well aware I was going to be flamed, and I am ok with that, that's how I started out the post. I knew this was controversial and thats why I wrote it. Never did I whine about getting flamed, I knew it was inevitable.
    7. Basically now you're just repeating yourself and I already nullified all the points you're making so if you would like to try again without putting words in my mouth and arguing with me based on what I actually said, not on the fact that you clearly don't know what you just read in my post. You're arguing things with me that I never even said or adressed or was against or for. Why you think bringing real life into this is relevant I have no idea, I said I have no problem with homosexual people, it's the characters and the fandom that I hate. If you can't make that distinction your lack of ability to form a coherent argument is the least of your problems.
    8. The fact that you felt the need to resort to "insults" shows the feeble nature of your argument in the first place. If you truly had a point to make, you could have done it without personal attacks.

Please re-examine what I have actually said in my post and if you would like to argue based on THAT, as opposed to what you would like to imagine I said, that's fine. But until then, my blog is not a soap-box for political indoctrination as you are using it. I am all for arguing in the realm of fact and what was actually said, but an argument in your fantasy land where you imagine that I have said these words you put in my mouth, is fruitless.

    Have a nice day.

  5. God, you're so adorable, with all your teenage baaawwwwwing and impotent hatred. XD

Now I'm going to go write some slash!fic, just so people like you can whine about how I'm "OH MY GOD SHOVING IT MY FAAAAAAAAAAACE!" :)

  6. GET THE FUCK OVER IT! God damn, its like all you guys ever do is fight about Yaoi... seriously. Let the damn subject go.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hey marie, why dont u go complain to a real gay-hater? Cuz all u seem to do is bitch about it. If it bothers u so much, DONT FREAKING READ IT!!! And another thing where do u get off saying " oh give it five years and you'll enjoy it". Not every aanime loving girl is gonna turn to yaoi. There are people who dont like it. I for one dont like it much and i'm 16 as well like Chitaka, but tht doesnt mean tht i have to or am going to like it. So shut ur damn mouth and accept it, becuz the more u bitch and whine and groan about it, it just makes u as bad as u claim others are. Chitaka here even explained in her profile, blog and comments tht she posts her opinions. Ok so u dont have to like it, but dont go bashing the blog owner. She can write whtever the fuck she wants, and btw when she said to leave comments she didnt mean for "ppl like u" to start being a whiney little bitch about things.

  8. anime is putrid and terrible, much like your opinions on sexuality

i'd love to know your opinions on transexuals, too, especially considering that you have the face of a man

    i'm sure that complicates things!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. There's really no need for name calling. And I'm the first anonymous that replied to you in this thread. I didn't think I was rabid or anything to my approach. I've simply seen this happen before. Will you grow out of being angry about it? Maybe. Who knows? I'm simply saying that perhaps you'll become more relaxed about it. As for not liking it, that's quite understandable too since not everyone cares about it. As for Ouran, I believe that you're wrong about that. It's been a while since I'm watched it but I'm pretty sure none of the characters are canonically gay. It's just a show the twins put on.

P.S. I can understand your frustration about rabid yaoi fans. People can take a lot of things too seriously. They just need to relax and chill out about it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. For the record, I am not big on yaoi, nor am I a fan of any of the series mentioned in this rant, so I could really care less about who's sticking what into whose orifice.

However, this line of your reply:

"I do not have a problem with homosexuallity, I simply find it disgusting as a form of entertainment."

    made me shake my head.

Yeah kiddo, it's great that you're okay with gays and you have like tons of queer bffs because you are so totally not against homosexuality or whatever, but stuff like that miiiight come across as, you know, homophobic.

I realize you are only 15. Buuuut, you should probably learn how to pick your words better.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Apparently you also need to pick your words better because what you just said made no sense. It is 100% true, I'm not against homosexuality, I do not support it, but I'm not against it either and I don't have a problem with it. But I also see no reason to use it as a form of entertainment, to be entertained by it disgusts me, I meant it exactly how I said it and seem to be missing how you're misinterpreting that. Also, do not antagonize someone because of age, it highlights ignorance on your part.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Okay. You cannot honestly say you do not have a problem with homosexuality, and then turn around and say that you think that gay entertainment is disgusting.

It makes it sound like you are of the opinion that only heterosexual relationships should be allowed to be shown on television, in movies, books, etc. Because to show gay folks having relationships in any form of entertainment is disgusting. Which strikes me as homophobic.

I am not sure if that is what you are trying to say. If it is? You obviously are not "100%" alright with homosexuality if you find gay entertainment disgusting.

I realize it sounds like I am trying to attack you. In that first comment... maybe. But now I am simply trying to figure out why you feel justified to say you are perfectly fine with homosexuality, you are not homophobic, etc., if you find the idea of gay entertainment disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Because I do not see it as entertainment,in "entertainment" it disgusts me, I'm not saying other people can't like it, as long as they don't shove it down your throat like the aforementioned fangirls. But I personally find watching is disgusting and don't see it as entertainment so I personally avoid it. I don't act this way towards homosexual people themselves however, I just do not see it as entertaining.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I realize that I'm nothing more than one small anonymous voice in a sea of other anonymous voices on the internet. So I know I'm not going to change how you see yourself. Also, I totally get that gay stuff just isn't your cup of tea. That's fine.

But you're still homophobic. Like I said, that's what bothers me the most about your reply up above; you're claiming you're not. It's cool that you treat the gay people you know with respect, but the definition of homophobia includes disapproving of gay culture. Entertainment falls under culture, doesn't it?

Anyway. I'll be the first to admit that I am not the most eloquent person out there. I probably have not presented myself very well, but I've said what I wanted to say, so I'll get out of your hair now, before I turn into a broken record. Thank you for remaining fairly civil throughout our little chat.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I wish I could say I agree with your post, but...the fandoms you list have huge heterosexual leanings. Bleach and Inuyasha have so much het, you could probably not ever have to see a single slashfic if you didn't want to. Same with FMA.

To be honest, I know what you mean. In all my 23 years, I've never gotten into yaoi. Its not even that I'm indifferent, its more like I don't get it. Its suppose to be sexy? Um, ok, I thought those two characters hated each other. That sort of thing. I never liked it.

I hate to use the word "but", because I don't want you to think that I'm trying to "convert" you or anything. I understand your frustration and I respect your opinion. It would be nice of you to listen though, because for the longest time, before I even got into anime, I hated yaoi.

My biggest fear as a teen was finding a boy who would accept me. I was convinced that I was such a misfit, I'd end up falling for a boy who was gay. And this fear of being rejected, not because it was me, but because of my gender, grew and became a deep set hate for anything yaoi related. I just couldn't bare the thought that people wrote and drew stories that excluded the female, that excluded me from the equation. I hated how a romance between two men was seen to be such a beautiful thing, and that the women were simply cast aside, or portrayed as evil harpies who got in the way.

So I understand a whole lot, why it can be so frightening and so upsetting to find yaoi popular. I understand how repulsive it can be, especially when the anime characters involved have canon girlfriends or love interests. It used to make me so mad, the only way I got through it was sharing my hate and my insecurities with my fandom friends.

In the Inuyasha fandom, I found refuge in people who liked the same anime couple as me. I didn't have to worry if incest yaoi was popular, because as long as I could squee about Inuyasha/Kagome with my hommies, I felt fine. When I moved on to the Bleach fandom, I found out I wasn't so angry anymore, because I had found people who understood and liked the same things I did. So even though I was a fan of one het pairing, my friends sometimes liked yaoi pairings as well, but that was fine because we still could squee and gossip on the things that we liked, collectively.

I have found that over time, somewhere along the way, I forgot why I hated yaoi so much. And it was not because I suddenly became a yaoi fangirl, it was because I formed friendships with people who made me feel safe and happy so much more than I felt hurt and angry by yaoi. So yeah, you don't ever have to like it, or even tolerate it, but finding something to love helped me not think about it so much.

I hope you find that thing you love about fandom and reach out to share it with everyone else. <3

  16. Everyone has their own opinions and that's fine, but don't judge someone you do not know just because you don't like the sames things. That's just like being bigoted.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Poor thing. And yet, just imagine how much harder it would be if, instead of just having to ignore certain spaces on the internet to get away from the entertainment you find so disgusting, you had to avoid ALL mainstream media altogether: TV shows, movies, advertisements, billboards, posters, magazines lying on a table, etc.. You know, the way heterosexual entertainment is thrust down *everyone's* throats, *all* the time *everywhere*!

Not sure how people who don't find heterosexual media entertaining entertaining bear with it every single day. They must have to build up a tolerance and learn to deal with it existing, or something...

    ReplyDelete
  18. First and foremost,

"Now before anyone accuses me of being a homophobe I'm not, I don't support homosexuality in any way, but I also will not condemn a person just because of that, in fact I have several bi/homosexual friends so you can just throw that accusation out the window."

Just because you have gay or bi friends, doesn't mean you're not a homophobe. I find myself questioning what sort of friend you are since you can't even support someone's lifestyle. If I had a friend like you, I wouldn't need enemies.

Now. Coming to you as a rational yaoi fangirl, which I am in most cases, if you don't want our opinions shoved down your throat…then don't clog up our internets with yours. Cause, quite frankly my dear, we don't give a damn. What you say won't change our pairings. What you say won't make us like two guys fucking any less.

In fact, in response to this, I'm going to go write some Twilight slash fanfiction now. And while I'm doing that…I hope you'll sure fanfiction.net nifty search system and search for the couples you want. That's a fun way to avoid those nasty slash pairings that seem to scare you so much.  In the mean time, I suggest that you grow a brain and stop posting rants like these. Yaoi fangirls are not a bunch you want to piss off, they're worse than those scary HP fans!!

And now, before I write about Jacob fucking Edward, I'm going to post the link to this rant in my journal…be expecting to hear from some of my friends and fans. ♥♥♥

  19. 1. You're homophobic, and your gay/lesbian/bi/queer friends are putting up with you because in high school you often have to take the friends you can get. Prepare to be dumped like a hot rock when you're all 18 and in college unless you get over this nonsense.

    2. I'm 46. Slash has been around since at least 1976 when I was 12. You're not going to change anything.

    3. Someday, 10 years from now when you're an adult with a degree, you're going to be looking for work, and you might even be applying to a job where there are queer folk in human resources. Delete this nonsense off the internet NOW before you forget the passwords to this account as you grow and change. You don't want it haunting you for the rest of your life. I've always liked slash, but I had other silly opinions when I was a teenager (too much Ayn Rand, check; too much class privilege, check; racist upbringing, check) and I'm really glad that they aren't enshrined forever on the internet for potential friends, partners and employers to find and think the worst of me.

    4. If you are coming at this from a religious standpoint, you should know that this is not the only way to do your religion, whatever it is. There are plenty of non-homophobic ways to look at the texts and teachings of all the major religions.

    5. IF you're not coming at this from a religious standpoint, take some time, sit back, and try and figure out why you're so threatened by people just living their lives and having relationships that you would consider a kiss on the cheek or someone else getting married a threat to you. Is there something that you don't want to accept about yourself?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Umm ... yeah, and I'm not heterophobic either. I've got no problem with straight people as long as they're not shoving it down my throat! I mean, it's fine, but it's disgusting as entertainment.

You should probably know that claiming to have friends who are [insert marginalized group here] isn't a magical shield against your own prejudice. It just means your friends are probably a lot more tolerant and patient than you are.

On another note, in this post-modern world we live in, the author's intention is not law. There's no reason creative people can't imagine different scenarios and relationships for fictional characters. Since, after all, fictional characters are not flesh and blood people and have no "true" or "real" sexual orientation.

  21. I had a lovely reply to this all ready to go, fully edited and with bullet points for my counter-argument... Then I asked myself if this was an appropriate place to assert my opinions. I decided that, much as I would like to, anonymously posting an editorial reply to a little fish's homophobic blog post is not worth that much of my time.

But for your edification, I will make this remark: Yaoi is not 'simply a term for male anime characters in a homosexual relationship/situation'. "Yaoi" is a term for sexual relationships between males, and is usually applied to anime and manga, much like the term "hentai" but more gender-specific. "Yaoi" fics, when marked correctly, will always contain two males having sex. 'Shounen-ai' is literally "boys' love", indicates a romantic relationship between males, and is used primarily in anime and manga fandoms.

I will also give aid to your avoidance of the icky man-love, and therefore lessen the chances that more well-respected factions of fandom will come under fire for daring to exist: in the realm of original fiction and fandoms that are not affiliated with anime or manga, such as Harry Potter, homosexual relationships are referred to as 'slash' or 'MxM'.
Please do not feel you have to read, comment, or even scroll your mouse point over stories labeled thusly.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yaoi isn't just about two guys having sex. It's also about exploring a side of the fandom that we think hasn't been explored enough by the creator. Just as all fanfiction is.

I know that you have tried to seem logical and mature in your arguments but it hasn't worked. You have repeated yourself frequently. Funny since you accused an earlier commenter of the exact samething and how it weakened their argument.

"I know you calling me ignorant is desperation to make yourself seem more intelligent than you are, you are not."

    Pot, Kettle, Black.

I'm not going to have a go at you over your homophobic comments, anything I would say already has been.

Really, it's fine that you don't like yaoi, many people don't and it's fine if you don't like het or oc's or whatever your personal squicks are but I would like to point out that you are just as bad as the people who you think are shoving yaoi down your throat by shoving this down ours.

  23. If Masashi Kishimoto wanted his characters to be gay he would've done so. If he wanted his characters to spontaneously look overly feminine and make out with each other, he would've done so, but he did not!

You're so CUTE and wee and adorable. Especially in how you think you're saying anything that a) we've never heard before and b) will actually do anything to stop anyone.

And this was the worst example in THE WORLD. Do I have to list the feminine-looking characters, the gay jokes, and the implied gay romances? And I don't mean the "Naruto and Sasuke are totally doing each other" implied romances. Kishimoto really seems to have no problem getting the gay all over his characters. (Sai. I mean. Sai. How can you act like Kishimoto doesn't know, when... SAI.)

  24. As much as I'm wasting my time doing this because I realize people hate what they hate (ie my opinions) hint hint. I'm not trying to change anything nor am I trying to present any new argument against yaoi or its fans, I'm well aware this has all been said before and that nothing will change. Thats why this is called a rant, it is simply me ranting about my opinions, I could care less if people agree or not and I'm aware that people will agree and disagree, this is simply my rant, nothing more nothing less. These are my opinions, I don't expect nor do I want everybody to agree with me, that would be boring. I am simply ranting about my opinion on anime/manga, there are plenty of other fandoms I hate too, but yaoi is simply the most prominent and the one I decided to voice my opinion on.I don't take back anything I said because it's my true opinion, however I will attempt to make clear that my opinions on anime and manga have very little to no bearing on my real life opinions and in no way do I care to change what other people believe.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You say that your opinions on anime...'have very little to no bearing on my real life opinions.' And yet obviously the fact that you don't
'support' homosexuality has had a bearing on this.

It is quite impossible to untangle our real life opinions from our fandom ones. No matter how hard we try to mask them eventually they always shine through.

Simple fact the people who write/draw it refuse to accept the fact that their fanfiction is not cannon and will begin spewing bull and lies to try to make an arguement or just summon a bunch of fellow minions to attempt to overwhelm the truth of your arguements. as can be seen by the overwhelming response you predicted

  29. Wow, can you stupid yaoi fangirls leave her alone? I dislike yaoi as a form of entertainment as well, does that make me homophobic? NO it doesn't, my older sister is a lesbian, and I don't give a damn about it, my best friend since I was in elementary school is bi, but I don't think twice about my friendship with him cause he's a 'homosexual', I am not a homophobe, I just really really really hate yaoi, for A LOT of reasons, but it doesn't make me a homophobe, it just says that I don't like yaoi.

  30. I would like to thank you for posting this. :) I can't stand yaoi and I do find it disgusting. I am never going to change and I am a lot older than 16. If you like it that is your own business but Chitaka is right calling this entertainment is gross. I haven't read it because, yaoi fangirls are right if you hate it don't read it. However, I have heard that it goes into father son and brothers and that is fucked up. As a mother just thinking about that makes my blood boil. That shit ruins peoples lives and some people out there are fantasizing about it? There is something wrong with you if you are into that.

Another thing I can't stand is the hypocrisy. I hate reading that "people have the right to like what they want and say what they want and if you don't like it don't read it." Very true but where is that same freedom when someone disagrees with you? I don't have the right to think its gross and wrong without being called a homophobe or other names? So the freedom of expression is only for those who agree with you? Take your own advice if you read a title that says Anti-Yaoi rant don't read it because I am entitled to my opinion just as much as everyone else.

  31. Wow, hate is a pretty strong word.
Do you mean you hate `yaoi`? Or the fact that a lot of your favorite anime/manga characters are yaoi-fied?
You wrote "yaoi is simply a term for male anime characters in a homosexual relationship/situation" but it's not.
Because yaoi is a culture here in Japan.
Do you separate yaoi with BL? As far as I know they refer to the same thing (correct me if I'm wrong). And if we talk about BL then most of the market in Japan consists not of pairings that are already established, but of original pairings from the mangaka. In short, anime/manga about gay relationships.
You're `alright` with yaoi as long as you don't see it means you're alright with homosexuals as long as they don't appear as homosexuals in front of you. It's as simple as that imo.

    ReplyDelete
  32. to answer that question (which I probably shouldn't even have to do) I hate yaoi, simple as that. Yaoi, BL, Shounen-ai, any name you want to call it I can't stand it. It doesn't matter if they're original or not, established or not, I simply hate it, personal preference of mine.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Seriously, like what Chitaka said, this is merely HER opinion. HER rant. She clearly stated that she didn't type this down to change your minds, but to state her opinions.

Another thing, I've been seeing comments here telling her that if Yaoi bothers her so much, then she should stop looking into it - or whatever. Shouldn't that be same for you, too, anon? If this rant bothers you so much, DON'T LOOK INTO IT. :)

It's not that I personally hate Yaoi (I don't like it, but I don't really mind it, either), but I guess the real problem behind this thing are the FANGIRLS. In a way, Chitaka has stated a lot of points here.

You people should take into consideration that not everyone likes Yaoi (like we take in consideration that not everyone likes straight pairings only). How can you not expect rants or entries about Anti-Yaoi, when most of the Yaoi fangirls take the words "fangirling" to a whole new level.

For example, it's quite annoying that some fangirls twist things for their own pleasure. Like spreading rumors, for example.

If, for example, there is an anime of which everyone is confused about (whether or not it is shounen-ai), some rabid Yaoi fangirl supporter that is obsessed with a certain Yaoi pairing of that anime spreads a rumor (which she claims to be true and 100% efficient) that the author of this stated that he/she loves Yaoi blah blah blah, so therefore this anime will most likely end up with a Yaoi ending blah blah blah. As we all know, rumors can spread really fast. Now, what about the other fangirls that prefer het? Of course they will be discouraged and whatnot - but, what if in the end, it's a straight pairing? Now what about that crazy rumor that everyone seemed to believe? Get my point?

Yaoi fangirls will be bitter about it (the ending, because they believed the rumor), and straight pairing fangirls will clearly start getting annoyed because of all the rumors that are circulating - everyone is affected.

Now, most of the comments here seem to comment about how Chitaka's anti-Yaoi rant may reflect on the way she thinks on real life. But I can personally say, that it isn't necessarily that way. Anime is anime. Real life situations are real life situations. For anime, the reason for all this Yaoi hate, is because it's ANIME. We support pairings. We love whatever pairing we ship. Which is the reason for this rant, because sometimes obsessed Yaoi fangirls that take it over the top ruin part of it for us. I'm not saying that you guys should stop liking Yaoi, and I'm not saying that this hate for Yaoi needs to continue or something. What I'm trying to say is, maybe we all need to learn how to control how we express our love for our fandoms, because the result may hurt others as well. Which is what causes the hate. :)

This is merely my opinion. I'm not trying to decrease the number of Yaoi supporters, nor am I trying to say that Yoai is a bad thing (it clearly isn't). These are just some things I want to get across to you guys. Actually, I don't really mind Yaoi. I find it cute ( a little ), because of Ouran (the Hitachiin twins). I'm neutral when it comes to this, but I am just merely stating why people that aren't Yaoi fangirl start ranting. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. So much hate here but i agree with you 100%!
there are so MANY yaoi fans it's just weird..well at least, for me.
plus, it's what 16 year old horny girls masturbate off of, like really it's just sad.
and i, myself. don't really care about pairings. nor do i care if it's cannon or not. though really. like Naruto, two anime characters can't be friends/rivals IN ANYTHING. really it's annoying as hell. cause SOMEHOW, for them it means love -_- especially when they put yaoi onto NON-ANIME D: like sonic :/ and really? why are we debating over something so.... unnecessary? we should be talking about important things like gas prices, or the government, something like those! not who's gonna f*ck who at the end of the series! anyway, THERE'S YAOI MANGA'S OUT THERE... YEAH. SHOUNEN AI. BL. THERE ARE ACTUALLY MANGA'S LIKE THAT. oh but thats not enough for yaoi fangirls... they want MORE. MORE. like a freakin' army of yaoi pictures and stuff! (which they have done...)...and now i have stated my opinion on this :D
    -a male anti-yaoi supporter :)

  35. Am I a yaoi fangirl? I guess you could consider me that. I'm a fond of yaoi, and i'm a female. Am I a yuri fangirl? I'm that too. So here's an opinion from a yaoi and yuri fangirl.

I understand that your not comfortable with yaoi – whether it be the pairings or original manga/animes. So what do I have to say to you? That's cool and fine with me. I wouldn't want someone to do something or take part in something they're not comfortable with – and for you that means yaoi. Good for you.

As for me, I don't really like non cannon pairings – I only like one pairing and I'm not rabid about it. My heart really lies with yaoi/Bl/Yuri original manga (that have more of an actual story...like antique bakery or fake). But for me I'm not in it for the sex (Like in most yaoi's who will remain nameless) – I'm in it for the story! Storytelling is a beautiful skill to admire, and if someone in the story just so happens to be of a different lifestyle, then for me, it doesn't matter.

What I'm trying to say here is just that people just need to chill and respect peoples opinions, dammit! If someone doesn't like something, just be cool with it! They're just stating their opinion, and even if you don't agree you should be tolerant with it. Don't shove something down someones throat. Don't try to change their minds because it's THEIR opinion and you can't change something that's not yours.

    Peace, love, and respect! :'D

  36. Nice rant. I agree with what you said overall.

You are right in that the pairings a lot of those people make up are not canon and would not add up.
For one thing as you said the characters are not homosexual and their creators didn’t attend for them to be such. In fact I don’t think they could make them homosexual even if they wanted too. For one if they decided to have them be homosexual now it could throw story off and it would be seen as a last minute add on, or something like that. If a character in a long running series is going to be homosexual then it should be establish sometime in the early chapters of the story. For example, if Ichigo from Bleach was meant to be homosexual it would have been establish around the time of the first story arc when the story was giving everyone an idea of just how things were going to be for the series. Also, and it seems some people don’t take this to consideration the guidelines of the magazines they serialize their stories would most likely not allow such a thing to happen. They may allow the creators to have some characters that are homosexual (they did with Bleach with the red headed girl whom I forgot her name that is infatuated with Orihime) but I don’t think they would want a Yaoi/Yuri series. Again using Bleach as an example, Bleach is serialized in a magazine that deals with Shounen manga. Because of this the people working in that branch of Shuesha are only going to accept titles that are targeted for boys (specifically, usually boys that are in their midf/early teens on down). If the creators wanted to make a Yaoi/Yuri story then they would either have to go to a different manga magazine, self publish, or publish on the internet.

Secondly even if the characters were homosexual they wouldn’t be engaging in sexual activity like that. Their not really that kind of people. Also having these characters engage in such a way is not the kind of love those people are thinking it is. I’m guessing
what they have in mind is what is known as “godpey love” (I don’t know if that is how you spell it). The problem is that they have it confuse with another kind of love called “erotic love” How they are writing these pairings like how you describe woul dbe consider erotic love because it’s only focus on sexual desires with some romance to it. This is not consider godpey love because the characters are not building their relationship to the point they can become intimate friends.

  37. Lol I agree I don't care what you do in private. I don't support it, I'm not against it, but I certainly dont want to see it as entertainment! Thats just gross!
I love how people got all irked over this article xD

    ReplyDelete
  38. Fanfictions are fanFICTIONS. Let people write what they want, it's their business.
Yaoi for some is what straight porn is for others. It's all a fantasy and some form of entertainment for one person or another. That's why a lot (NOT ALL) yaoi is written with porn intent. However, there are lots of wonderful homosexual and yaoi stories out there was well where there is plot and if sex happens, it usually isn't the goal of the story.

I am a yaoi fangirl too, but myself and many others understand that any non-canon pairings are likely not actually going to happen. What about Twilight? Just because the author writes a story one way doesn't mean they will be upset if some readers would have preferred another direction. Hence FanFiction and FanArt. Another example. I watch an artist on DeviantArt who draws SesshomaruxKagome. I'm not a fan of the pairing personally, but I like her art so I don't go in depth into it. I've even read a comic she made with the pairing and enjoyed it even though it isn't my favorite pairing.

Granted, there are a LOT of bad yaoi stories out there, but most of them are new, young, and naive writers who haven't matured up to a writing standard with more in depth concepts. I get it. I've been there, I've read them, they made me cringe and still do when I come across them. They aren't all that way though.

But I will say one more time, Yaoi is entertainment for some just as straight Porn or romance (yes romance. it isn't all porn) is entertainment is for others. To each their own, get over it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Exactly, to each their own, thats why I wrote this, because I hate it. Nowhere did I say people aren't allowed to like it, I simply don't and find most people who do, annoying. And I'm aware it's not all porn and I'm aware of the comparisons, that still doesn't make me hate it any less, and to give you one better, I hate straight porn as well, porn is simply wrong, but thats not what this is about. And no, I could care how yaoi is written, it can be written by my favorite author but it's yaoi, I still hate it. The story can be great, but if it's yaoi it still disgusts me. I agree completely with to each their own that you said, nowhere did I claim this is fact. Please read the title of my blog more carefully.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I agree with you.
Yaoi is always in your face. You could look up any character in any anime and no doubt some fangirl has put their, 'personal touch,' to it.
And don't even get me started on forced yaoi couples: brotherxbrother, enemyxenemy, ect. Seriously! Keep your thoughts to yourself!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm not into yaoi at all, but I have no problem with it in general. But I'll agree that there are aspects about yaoi fandom that make me uncomfortable. For example, yaoi fangirls who hate the idea of seeing rape and controlling heroes in het or shoujo comics...only to turn around and say they love it in yaoi/BL manga. It's a double standard which I find unfair. If you hate rape and controlling men, it should be for all genres, and I find it so wrong for some of these yaoi fans to say things like the 'female character is annoying and stupid and helpless' only to later find out that said fan likes her 'ukes' to be exactly like this- annoying and helpless.

Another thing I dislike about yaoi- the non-canon couples. I dislike all non-canon couples, though, even the het ones. If they're not together in the anime or the manga or the TV show, I don't see why the fans have to force them together because it's 'hot' >_< It's worse when the said male character already has a female love interest. The rabid yaoi fans will just kill her off, or write her off in the story because she gets in the way of their fantasies. Why not just make their own original characters?

    ReplyDelete
  42. "It's not overly terrible if it's actually in the anime, I don't know of any off the top of my head because I don't watch that crap, but at least then its canon, nowhere near as bad as taking say Ichigo of Bleach who has no homosexual tendencies whatsoever, and drawing, writing, fantasizing or ranting about him being in some form of a relationship or sexual situation with Renji."

This is the only section of your rant that I really do not like. The reason being you simply CAN NOT prove that Ichigo is straight either. When has he ever showed an interest in ANY female. Orihime practically throws at him during the few seasons but he doesn't even seem to notice. In fact, there is more evidence that he is gay than straight. The biggest thing being the several times he has freaked out on Yoruchi for being naked. What straight teenage boy doesn't want to see a hot woman naked?? I would understand if it had been a more polite, "could you please get dressed?" but it wasn't.
However, if something has happened passed episode 302 or in the manga that proves he is straight, I'm sorry but I haven't gotten that far yet.
As for the spontaneous overly feminine thing, how many mangas/animes have you seen/read? 60+ and you still haven't noticed how many MALE characters could quite easily be mistaken as female. I've only seen Bleach and Naruto so I can only give you examples from those two.
    Naruto:
Haku (if you don't see it, you're blind)
    Neji
    Deidara
Sai (he wears a friggin' belly shirt)
    Orochimaru even looks fairly feminine
Yashamaru (my friend literally thought he was Gaara's AUNT and we had an argument over it until I proved it)
    Kimimaro
    Bleach:
    Yumichika (one of my faves!!!)
    Szayel
    Luppi
Byakuya (what with his shiny skin and long flowing hair! also another fave)
Charlotte (*shudders* THAT was just... wrong! on sooo many levels!)
    Yylfordt
Ulquiorra (mostly just his body, not his face. and my favorite Espada.)
These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. There are probably more.
Now, I would like to explain why yaoi and slash is so entertaining for fangirls. It's because it's something that we, as a gender, can't experience. It's basically living vicariously through our own imagination. Yes, women can partake in anal sex, but it doesn't produce the same pleasure as it does in men. Personally, I don't even see the appeal of having a d*ck shoved up my a$$, but I write about it anyway because I enjoy it.
Also, I would like to address from the post above mine from Sept. 6th, the very last sentence is, "Why not just make their own original characters?" Why can't people that only write Het make their own original characters? The answer is the same for both questions. Do you have any idea how hard it is to actually come up with your own story? Most fanfictions just tweak the original version a little to fit their needs, however, there are some incredible alternate universe stories that are simply amazing. Writing extremely AU fanfics is only a step or two down from writing original stories and usually these author have originals posted somewhere as well. Having already established characters makes writing much easier and you can focus more on a good plot.
I, myself, have tried my hand a time or two at writing an original story. It currently takes up a little over three pages of a word document and the first page is just outlines for THREE characters, only three. Including things like: age, gender, hair and eye color, body type, and a summary of their personality. Oh and guess what, it is a SLASH story. maleXmale, two guys have sex. The other two pages are two SMALL sections that would take place near the middle and end of the story. They rest is still up in my head and I've been working on it for months.

    ReplyDelete
  43. (Con't from above. I had too many characters)

I just read a reply you posted on August 7th and you contradicted yourself twice in it.
    1. "and to give you one better, I hate straight porn as well, porn is simply wrong"
That is a direct quote from that reply, but in your rant you said this:
"I will admit that a guilty pleasure of mine is straight lemon fanfictions"
So which is it? Porn is wrong, or its only wrong with gay pairings?
    2) "Nowhere did I say people aren't allowed to like it"
    Actually, you kind of did.
"If yaoi and/or the obsessive fangirls could just be incinerated off the face of the earth that'd be nice"
This implies that yaoi should not exist and that no one should read. You've told some people to chose their words more carefully, maybe you should take your own advice.
Another thing you need to do is research before you rant and make claims about things. You said, "that most people don't like yaoi. Get over it."
This statement is only true if you are talking about the ENTIRE world. However, the entire world does not know about yaoi or even fanfiction so you can only include those of us that DO know about it. Here are some stats from an actual fanfiction site I use. Don't go looking for yourself though because it is an 18+ site and you're too young.
Here are the number of fics in each catagory.
    Het(straight):
    Naruto: 1208
    Bleach: 395
    Yaoi:
    Naruto: 5138
    Bleach: 969
As you can see Bleach has almost three times more yaoi than straight fics and Naruto almost five times as much.
A few times through out your rant, you've mentioned being unable to find straight pairing stories, obviously you aren't trying very hard. If you go on Fanfiction.net, you can look up the anime/manga you want and narrow it by language, character, genre, and rating. Most sites have some sort of search function where you can easily find what you're looking for. The site I got the stats from has sub-catagories specifically for het, yaoi, or yuri.
The last thing I really want to say is that no one is "shoving it down your throat." It is not very hard to avoid things you don't like, even on the internet. Someone above mentioned hate and how it started. I don't remember where it was, what they said, or if it was you, but I'm going to throw my two cents in on this. The hate started when close-minded people decided to say rude things about stories that the authors have worked hard on. No one forced them to click on the story and 90% of them are labeled as het, yaoi, or yuri in the summary or at the very beginning of the story just to avoid people reading the wrong thing.
That's all for now, I supposed. I have this page bookmarked so I can see if you respond.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hello! While I personally disagree with you, I don't want to attack you or anything. Please tell me if I accidentally offend you!

I'd only like to say that people write yaoi because it is attractive to them, just like people write straight relationships. Incest and such tend to be people who like that and often times aren't thinking about the relationship between the characters, but simply their looks. Some people will always be a tad extreme in their views but they are entitled to have them.

Fanfiction is really just people exploring things that became apparent to them. Many people mistake a fictional villian's/hero's obsession with the other as sexual tension (which, in more disturbing relationships, it is).

For the record though, I rather like yaoi and I'm not against yuri either. I'd simply like to prove that while they're are a lot of people who are extremists in their views (mainly the type of people who respond to rants such as this one), there are a lot of moderate people who like yaoi as well. Personally, I read this just to see why certain people don't like yaoi. I just see it as another form of love. *Shrugs* Maybe I'm just overly optimistic. It was rather enlightening. I'm a tad ashamed to say that this made me... Not quite angry but I can't think of another word currently. I suppose it's my idealistic tendencies kicking in (They have a way of doing that. *Sheepish Grin*) and I'm sorry if this question is viewed as offensive and you can ignore it if it is, but why is it so different when it's two people of the same gender rather than two people of the opposite gender? I very truly don't understand and I'd like to.

I try to be very considerate of other's views on most matters (particularly on the internet where people are rather rude because of the anonymity of it) so don't hesitate to inform me I was rude! I'm sorry if I was offensive! I hope you don't take this the wrong way! If you do respond, I may take a while to get back to you so I'm sorry if that is the case!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Thank's very much for the civil comment, it gives me hope for the world. To answer your question as to why same gender is different from the opposite gender, it's simply a matter of taste, there's no "this is what's wrong with one but not the other". It's a matter of taste, some people hate certain things some people like certain things. It's the exact same thing is why some people like men some people like women. But I must say I respect you for opposing my opinion in a civil manner unlike a lot of others, you would be the rare kind of yaoi fan that doesn't annoy me. Thanks very much for the comment =)

    ReplyDelete
  46. You're welcome! I'm glad I didn't offend you as that wasn't my intention. Thank you for the explanation. So, it's kind of like how certain people can't stand even the smell of certain foods and others adore the food they hate (Perhaps a bad analogy but I trust you understand what I mean)?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yeah that would be a good analogy. And personally for me I don't like it, but the fandom makes it all the worse, hence the rant.

    ReplyDelete
  48. That actually makes sense now! Thank you!

A lot of people are rather overzealous when they adore something you don't like.

Personally, I don't like chocolate. Every time this is revealed, people respond with shock (As if I'm supposed to tell them this the second I meet them) or by trying to get me to eat it. It makes me dislike the food even more on principle. I think I get it now.

  51. i just wanna comment that not all yaoi fangirls are into cute bishies x bishies... like me i like realistic yaoi, i rarely pair anime characters that are sooo obviously straight like most of my friends, well im bi sooo i support homosexuality both yuri and yaoi also hetero pairs...real life homosexuality too, i dont really appreciate yaoi fan girls who dislikes real gay people but get off on only hot guys holding hands...well not all yaoi fans are like that...also we yaoi fans mind our own business why dont you do the same okay....just coz the guy you want to come to prom with you turns out to be gay, and dates your gay friend it doesn't give you the right to nag nag nag that yaoi is disgusting, okay dear...by the way anime is only fictional that means all genres of anime are unrealistic and imaginary, if you dont like yaoi just ignore it okii XD

Of course there are many phornographic Yaoi/Yuri pictures or fanfictions there, but the "straight" ones arent really better. As long as the story or picture is well written or painted I can't find anything disgusting about Yaoi Yuri or the "normal" stuff...

  56. You don't like yaoi, then fine, but u are overeating to it.
Maybe your just ranting, and were angry about it. I can understand,I don't like certain things either. But I don't like how you ranted about the yaoi girls and how they react. What made made was what you wrote about the so called yaoi girls, then what you wrote about yaoi. I don't care if you don't like yaoi, but now every yaoi girl acts like how you think.
I love yaoi, but I understand perfectly well why you might not like it. Everyone has their views, and I accept that. But you should accept other peoples like yaoi, instead of making fun of them for liking yaoi. Of course people are going to get mad at you, not because your saying yaoi is bad, but because of how your saying anyone who likes yaoi is liking something very unnatural.

  59. Aw, I had this really good response typed out, went to hit enter but something happened and it erased everything. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU--

I'll just put my favourite parts.

"I just wish the whole entire yaoi population would just incinerate off the face of the Earth!"

^ That awkward moment when half the population burns to death.

Homosexuality is found in 450 species of animals. Homophobia and intolerance of homosexuality is only found in one. Which one seems unnatural now?

    Sure you've heard of it.

OH, and also... porn is entertainment, isn't it? Gay porn is still porn, therefore making it entertainment.

  60. I don't see anything wrong with Yaoi, and this is coming from a guy. No, I'm not gay or anything because its not like I watch it. It just doesn't bother me.

"If Masashi Kishimoto wanted his characters to be gay he would've done so." How do you know he didn't? We can just sit here all day saying if he did or didn't but the point is, none of us know if he did or didn't. So that is very irrelevant.

Idk why you just can't ignore it. Thats bullshit that you say its everywhere, because you know the sayin' "if you're looking for danger, then danger will find you" Well in this case it would be "If you're looking for Yaoi, then Yaoi will find you".

"If Masashi Kishimoto wanted his characters to be gay he would've done so." How do you know he didn't? We can just sit here all day saying if he did or didn't but the point is, none of us know if he did or didn't. So that is very irrelevant.

Anyway, since this is all opinion based I really have no problem with it. Just had to point out a few things.

Also, whats the difference between 2 men fucking and a Guy and a girl fucking? Or even kissing/hugging whatever. Whats the difference? Just because a guy isn't fucking a person with tits or a vagina means its nasty? Shit... if anything its just as Nasty as a guy fucking another guy. I mean either way, his dick is going in a hole so theres no real difference.

Anyway, I would say something cool/flashy here to end this buuut nah. "Yaoi is disgusting, lots of people think so, deal with it!" <--This statement is pretty ironic but whatever. Just take your own advice and "Deal with it!"

  61. Heh, I'm glad that you are prepared for the flames, cuz boy did you light up a big one!

That being said, I'm mostly in agreement with you on the subject....I think it not the yoai itself that's the problem, its the those crazy fans! I mean my god! Why is it that two male characters who are friends, brothers, rivals, or Hell even enemies are constantly pared up? And I’m not talking about a once-over on fanfiction....No, no I’m talking about the fans that you try to strike up a conversation about the series you like and somehow they are CONVINCED that two male character have a thing for each other!! (I was talking to a girl about the relastionship with Inuyasha, Kagome and Kikyo, and she flamed on both, saying that Inuyasha and his brother Sesshoumaru were made for each other! I’m thinking “Where in the hell did she come to that conclusion? I must re-watch and re-read the series...I still can’t find it!!)

If it was a series where the male characters have that kind of a thing for each other, then I might very well support them, cuz that was the intention!

As far as fanfictions go, If its done right, and treated like a one time thing (friends, rivals) or a power struggle (enemies) Brothers (no thank-you). Then I can read it once in a while. But no, it go’s as far as the god-awful M-Preg WTF??? And how I hate that the women characters are bashed utterly simply because they “get in the way” of their favorite yoai famdom.

And that’s the worst of it I think, worse then any Mary-Sue contax. That the cannon girls are bashed to death simply for being that opposites sex love interest, or even mention at all. M-Preg is even more absurd then the “girl falls into anime world”. The ability to give and support life in the womb is a WOMAN’S power. To even hear of a man having the same ablily makes my Feminine empowerment nauseated.

And it’s true, like you I wish that I could not look at it, but is hard not to if its everywhere! But keep your head up. Yaoi obsessed fans are like mosquitos, they are here, they are annoying, and impossible to get rid of.

(I wonder how many of these yoai fans have actuly been to a gay-rights parade? I’ll have to ask the next time I’m marching.)

  63. I will try to keep this short and write in a civilized manner. From my point of view it is only natural for yaoi fans to get mad and flame you, because the text you wrote above doesn't just rant about yaoi. I personally find it insulting and hurtful. Your way of expressing your hate, your choice of words is wrong. Don't get me wrong, I understand why you had the need to rant about this topic. Yaoi is pretty much everywhere and some of the yaoi fans are annoying. Still, I don't think they aren't entirely at fault because they are trying to defend something that they love with a passion, only to come out with maddening and immature things to say, just as you and other yaoi haters did in a way. The point you're missing here is, not all yaoi fans are like that. I don't defend yaoi pairings (unless they are from a yaoi anime) or go around babbling about how they are better than the hetero pairing. I don't like female bashing, and last but not least, I would never try to change someone's opinion about yaoi. Don't classify us as the same.
