Ecchi Is So Damn Annoying! (Rant)

Everybody knows what Ecchi is right? Well ok for those of you that dont, it's basically in anime, one step short of Hentai. It's gigantic bouncing breasts, panty-shots, girls in suggestive poses making suggestive noises (especially after being hit), girls with large breasts in skimpy clothes, girls grabbing at and playing with other girls annoyingly large breasts, you get the point. And if not, Here: to the right is an example. Basically it's just stuff to satisfy the stupid piggish guys and it causes a lot of them to view girls as nothing other than sex objects for their own pleasure. (This picture is actually a pretty mild form of ecchi)

Anyway, my point is that soooooo many anime have soooooo much of it! And I dunno about anybody else, but it's really beginning to piss me off. There are so many new anime coming out these days that seem really cool in premise, action, characters, setting, music whatever...but when I go to watch it all I see are girls having their clothes ripped off, gigantic breasts, skimpy clothes and guys getting smacked around for being perverts when the character himself actually did nothing, the creators just decided to make something sexual happen to the girl while said guy is around but has no involvment.

Yes, some people will watch anime for the Ecchi scenes, but you know what, thats what ecchi anime and hentai are for. Anime creators just really need to stop littering good, plot-filled anime with this garbage. Not only is it annoying that you cant get through a fight without some girls clothes being ripped to shreads, but its downright demeaning to [respectable] women.

Recently I've tried to watch several different anime, and this is what happened:

Seikon No Qwasar: The story of this one started out really cool, awesome-looking male lead


who has a giant scythe and he destroys evil demon thingies. However when I watched the first episode I was met with that big-breasted girl in the picture being a main focus and she's super important because apparently large breasts produce powerful souma (breast milk). And you know something? THAT'S the engergy source in this show! Said "awesome" (not) male lead drinks breast milk in order to get his fighting power! And I believe it's the same for any other male in this anime who fights. Not just breast milk, breast milk from a virginal nun?! O.o How the heck does that work out!

Basically this entire anime centers around breasts! It's insane. I mean yeah ok, points for originallity, but they could've found some less sick-and-twisted and less piggish way of being original here. If the show had simply stuck to it's original story instead of the creators all getting simultanious erections and being all like "Hey! I feel like making a show about breasts and degrading women and making them seem sexyer even more! Then us and all the other horny teenage guys watching this will have something to jack-off to!" it would've been really good had they not done that. But heaven forbid, new anime HAS to have ecchi apparently.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimao: Another anime with another really cool premise...and yet it's killed by the evils of ecchi! That big guy in the center wants to be a preist or something and help

people...and yet when he takes an un-failing aptitude test it tells him he's going to be a demon lord and everybody hates him. Even the blue-haired girl who he had been friends with earlier in the episode. How does ecchi fit into this you ask? It really doesn't, but it's there, and a lot of it.
This is one of those that doesn't rely on skimpy outfits and bouncing breasts as much as it relies on girls in suggestive positions and having their clothes torn off in fights. And what's up with the green-haired stalker girl having a bunny tail on her butt that shuts her down like a computer when the main guy goes up her skirt and pulls on the tail?

Again, the premise is awesome and I thought it was going to be really good and I was going to enjoy it. Boy how wrong I was, this was just filled with too much ecchi! And worse yet, it was pointless ecchi! It didn't even have any place in this anime, unlike Seikon no Qwasar where it was annoying and I hated it, but it actually pertained to the story and had something of a reason for being there...well sort of...some of it had a reason anyway. But in Ichiban Ushiro no Daimao it had absolutely no point what so ever and just littered a perfectly good plot!



Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls: Even the title on this one sounds epic! It sounds like
something I seriously want to watch...well ok that enthusiasm was dropped a little last night when I saw the trailer for it. There was a lot of ecchi in the trailer that kind of left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm hoping (though it probably wont happen) that the anime itself isn't as ecchi-filled, or at least to the point where I can stand it.

Why must all awesome-sounding fighting anime be turned into ecchi trash? The same thing goes for titles like Ikkitousen, Tenjho Tenge, Asu no Yoichi, Koihime Musou, Sekirei and Air Master. I just really hope that doesn't apply to this one, at least not too badly.

Ok, fine a little bit of ecchi is alright. It wont kill a show, but it's when it gets out of hand and SOOOOOO many shows just HAVE to involve an annoyingly large amount of ecchi. What's left for us more sane, and mature people who kind of, oh I dont know, like a story. I'm saying nothing against being perverted, being perverted is fun, and having the occasional lecherous character in an anime such as Jiriyah or Miroku adds some humor. Even the pedophile teacher in Azumanga Daioh doesn't piss me off like ecchi would. But creators really need to start drawing the line (no pun intented) and stop littering anime w/ good stories full of ecchi. Keep the ecchi to shows like Futari Ecchi and Eiken.
